Chapter 28 - Power

Meanwhile,

Near the centerline, Karsian watched the battlefield with mild irritation, sipping from a silver flask.

"Hm. It's chaos now. Just as planned."

But then...

A stone on his front suddenly swapped with Loki Falk landing in front of Karsian without a sound.

Karsian's flask swapped with a stone under Loki's boot.

He didn't even know his flask wasn't with him till Loki Falk's boot crushed it underfoot.

"Ah, you must be the Swap-user I was warned about."

"I thought Omega Kingdom has pretty strong warriors." Loki put his hands on his chin, mockingly looking confused. "Hm... Guess I was wrong."

Karsian laughed.

"I see. You're trying to make me lose my cool. Clever… You think if my emotions spike, my Power output will malfunction?"

He laughed harder now, head thrown back.

"Haha, wow. A very smart move indeed..."

Then, his face went cold.

"But I'm not your average Aura-user."

His aura erupted like a tidal wave. Heavy, suffocating, swallowing the air.

Behind him, dozens of Omega soldiers flinched and backed away instinctively, unable to bear the pressure.

"You command well," Loki said, calm but sharp. "But your plan is already breaking."

Karsian's smirk flickered.

"Is that what weaklings tell themselves before dying?"

A moment of silence.

"You think I don't feel you gathering Power?"

Loki tilted his head.

"You think I'm gathering Power...?"

Even though Loki was calm and confident outwardly.

He felt Karsian's aura and knew he was on a different level.

"The more Power gathered before using an Aura Power increases the attack power." Loki thought to himself.

Karsian walked forward moving step by step.

"If you won't attack then... I will."

In a blink, he was gone... Atleast to the soldiers eyes.

BAAM!

A punch straight to Loki's face.

He braced and blocked, barely but the sheer force flung him. Flesh burst and armor shattered as he smashed through soldiers before he crashed into the earth and bounced violently.

"Get up, weakling," Karsian mocked, strolling through the smoke. "Surely you're stronger than this, old man."

A breeze..

"Huh.."

Karsian's instincts screamed.

He spun.

Too late.

Loki's fist was already flying at his face.

Karsian caught it midair. And countered.

BAAM!

His fist slammed into a stone.

Stone cracked in his palm.

Karsian's eyes widened.

BAAM!

A second punch landed, clean, on his cheek. Loki had swapped positions again.

Karsian barely budged.

Loki stepped back, assessing him.

"Tch… That didn't even graze him. He's fast, but he's not just fast… he's a Warden-Class monster."

"My physical strength is average for a Warden-Class... But my techniques will decide this."

"I don't have time. I need to finish him quickly and go help Yuri."

Karsian licked the blood from his lip and grinned.

"Hey," he said. "I don't kill Warden-Class warriors without knowing their names. What's yours?"

But before Loki could respond…

Karsian froze. He felt something shift, a subtle aura pulse that wrapped the air.

Loki whispered:"Dimension: Switchfield."

The battlefield shimmered.

He'd underestimated him. He thought Loki Falk was just another nimble trickster. But this was something else entirely.

This wasn't just a Swap-user. This was a Peak Warden-Class. A user of Power Dimensions.

Around Karsian, the world looked the same — but the rules had changed.

He was inside Loki's Switchfield now: a closed Power Zone — a pocket dimension where Loki could swap anything, instantly and instinctively, without delay or limits, so long as it remained within the field.

Karsian's eyes swept the space, alert.

Something was off.

Soldiers nearby had been dragged into the dimension too. They glanced around, confused, trapped.

Karsian reached out and touched the shimmering wall of Aura that marked the boundary.

"I see... you're also Peak Warden-Class," he muttered.

"But your dimension is strange. Nothing's changed inside, the world still looks the same."

SHINK.

A blade pierced his leg.

He spun. Loki was behind him.

They clashed immediately. Blows were exchanged, a flurry of brutal strikes.

But every time Karsian's fists were about to connect.

SWAP.

A soldier took Loki's place... and was torn apart by the impact.

Again. And again.

Bodies dropped around them like shattered dolls, victims of a game they couldn't even see.

Karsian's eyes narrowed.

"So that's how it works..."

Karsian took a step back.

"Most of the swapped soldiers were Bolt's warriors."

Loki was silent.

"Hm. You really don't care." Karsian smiled.

His Aura surged, flaring outward in a concentrated sphere that surrounded him like a glowing barrier.

"Now you can't swap anything in this mini-zone I created." he said, laughing.

Loki eyes narrowed.

"Tch... An Aura-user can't activate their skill inside a sealed mini-zone."

He lunged.

They collided again, exchanging a violent flurry of strikes.

Karsian landed a clean punch, this time, Loki couldn't swap away.

He wasn't fast enough to block.

BAAM!

Loki was launched like a missile, smashing through soldiers and tanks, his body finally slamming against the shimmering edge of his own Dimension wall. He bounced off, hitting the ground with such force that a shallow crater cracked beneath him.

Dust choked the air.

Loki stood, blood dripping from his lips, coughing violently.

"You are really strong. You could've taken out those two Colossals using your Dimension. But you didn't."

"I guess you couldn't," Loki continued. "You've been burning Aura to slow your aging. If you pushed too hard, you'd die."

He clutched his chest. Blood ran down his face. His ribs were shattered. His breathing... ragged.

"I heard you're nearly two hundred. And you made a Celestial Contract, slow aging. Sure... but at the cost of halving your Aura output. That's why you didn't use your Dimension. It costs too much."

Karsian's expression tightened.

Loki gave a bloodied smile.

"I only told Yami that... he must have betrayed me..." Loki thought.

"Yami... my student..."

Suddenly, everything in the Dimension began swapping violently, dozens of times per second, then hundreds. Then thousands. Then more.

So fast it blurred reality.

Karsian's eyes widened.

He expanded his mini-zone to its limit, flaring with power. To stop the swapping from occuring near him.

A minute passed. Karsian, disoriented, searching for a pattern, but then:

Extreme heat.

It hit them both like a wave, searing their skin.

"AARRGGHH!!" they screamed in unison, engulfed in blazing agony.

Karsian stumbled back, burning, eyes bloodshot.

"W-What is this?! You have two Power Attributes?! That's impossible!"

Loki grinned through the pain.

"No," he wheezed.

"I maintained a high-frequency swap… billions of times per second. Every swap drains a tiny amount of energy. That energy doesn't vanish... it builds up."

"And energy buildup… means heat."

"What happens if I build up energy faster than I can release?"

He grinned harder.

"Intense pulses of sonic booms."
