Chapter 69 - The return of Queen otohime

It was Den's turn to be surprised, there was nothing in the letter about Ars being the king, so he inquired.

"Should I be respectful, and call you your majesty too?"

Ars just laughed with a relaxed smile, and replied calmly.

"I don't really care about the title, it's them who insist on calling me that, so call me what you want."

Den laughed and said with a grin.

"Then I will call you your majesty."

Ars ignored it, at this point he didn't care anymore, but Gluppy and Pecillia giggled, they had came to know that he wasn't that much into being called his majesty from Tom, and it was the people in the kingdom, who decided to call him with that title without caring about his opinion too much… Because he was the king. So he had simply given up on trying to change the way people addressed him back home.

Everyone who saw them giggling showed confused expressions, but Gluppy calmly said.

"I will explain later."

Ars just rolled his eyes at her, and then looked at Den and asked.

"Can we go now?"

Den nodded and was confused when he saw Ars going to the edge of the bubble on fishman island. He looked at Ars and asked him confusedly.

"Don't we need a boat coated so you can survive the trip to the surface?"

Ars just shook his head and jumped through the bubble like it was nothing, and awaited Den on the other side, looking at him like he was saying.

'What are you waiting for? Hurry up…'

Den just commented surprised.

"Well that's new, normally humans can't do that!"

After that they quickly ascended to the surface where Ars transformed into his dragon-like form and carried the surprised Den back to his kingdom.

After a few hours of traveling in the sky, they arrived back at Ars kingdom, and Ars quickly took Den to meet Tom.

Den was a bit surprised about Tom's appearance, but then accepted it, the man was dead then came back to life. A little appearance change wasn't that unexpected.

As Ars kinda expected it was an emotional reunion for both of them. Ars decided that it was better for him to go check on his queens that remained in the kingdom and see if they needed him to do something for them or for the kingdom, and leave the 2 to talk by themselves.

Everyone greeted Ars cheerfully when they saw him pass by, and as usual Ars reciprocated their feelings. It didn't take long to find Elia and Olivia, who were playing with the 2 adopted girls.

"I'm back! How are you guys doing, on this fine afternoon?"

They smiled and played along. With Elia getting up and doing a classy greeting and Olivia returning the greeting in the same way.

"We are doing amazing in this lovely afternoon, especially this tea and biscuits, they are to die for."

Ars then looked at the 2 little girls, they had settled down quite well, and everyone liked to pamper them. Ars was no exception, he quickly approached and started tickling them, and after a few moments with a lot of giggles, Ars looked at Elia and Olivia and inquired.

"Did anything important happen? Or do you guys need anything from fishman island that you didn't remember before?"

They both shook their heads and Ars smiled and prepared himself to go search for his other 3 queens.

"Does anyone know where my other 3 lovely queens might be?"

Solana quickly told Ars what she knew, while trying to keep a straight face.

"Kuina-sama and Reiju-sama should be training or in their respective areas, and Bell-mere-sama should be on the way to the farming village."

Ars was confused, normally Bell–mere worked from the palace with only going to the village when there was an incident or when something like harvest happened. So going at this time was quite unusual.

Seeing Ars a bit confused as to the reason as to why Bell-mere might have gone to the farming village, Dawn elaborated further.

"My sister didn't say it, because it wasn't something bad, Bell–mere–sama had requested the farmers to warn her when they had baby animals, since she wanted to see them."

Ars nodded and replied, informing them of his plans.

"I don't intend on staying for the night, and if you change your mind about wanting something from fishman island, meet me at Tom's house, I left Tom's brother there with him."

He finally kissed his queens goodbye and left to catch up with Bell-mere.

He quickly moved and found her on the road towards the farming village, with a few guards and the village messenger.

"Hi, how is the trip going?"

Bell-mere smiled serenely, and replied.

"It's going wonderfully, but is everything alright? I thought you would take longer to come back."

Ars nodded and decided to explain.

"So today I'm on transport duty. So I will be going back to fishman island later."

She nodded, and before she said anything else Ars offered to help them get to their destinations faster.

"Do you want me to send you to the village using one of my abilities so you can arrive today?"

Bell-mere, happily accepted and everyone else was happy about the idea of arriving sooner.

For the guards and the mensager, he used his repel abilities the same way Kuma did, but before he sent them flying, he warned them.

"After you land, quickly move to the side so the next person doesn't land on top of you."

They all nodded and Ars quickly sent them all to the village.

Bell-mere was also preparing herself to be sent flying, but Ars had other plans to take her there. He quickly transformed into his Dragon form and pulled her towards him, then he pointed to his back and she understood what he meant.

They both took flight and while flying Bell-mere commented joyfully.

"It's my first time riding on your back in the sky, it's quite comfortable with the wind on my hair and the ability to see the surroundings so easily feels amazing."

Ars smirked and couldn't help but tease her.

"True… You normally prefer to ride my front in bed, but if we work hard on an acrobatic display, we might be able to have you ride me in front in the sky."

She blushed hard and used her fists to hit his back, trying to hide how embarrassed she got.

Not long after that, they arrived at the farming village, where the leader of that village was already awaiting them. He quickly led the way to the farms where baby animals could be seen running around close to their mothers.

After going around and seeing a bunch of baby animals, Ars looked at Bell–mere and asked with a relaxed expression.

"Do you wish to stay or go back to the city?"

She thought about it, and decided to stay a few more days so she could see more baby animals.

"I will stay."

He nodded and kissed her goodbyes and this time he decided to use the repel ability on himself.

He quickly got to the training grounds in the main city.

He looked around, and didn't see either Kuina or Reiju, but after inquiring with a few soldiers who were still training, he discovered they were in the headquarters.

He approached them and asked full of curiosity.

"Hi, what are you guys discussing so seriously?"

They looked at Ars, surprised that he returned so soon, and smiled at him. Then Kuina explained.

"While Reiju is in the medical area now, she used to be in command of a lot of troops, at least sometimes, and has way more experience in that area, so she has been teaching me how to lead the troops better."

Ars smiled at them warmly, before commenting.

"Well, I'm just here to check on you 2, and ask you if you want something from me or from fishman island. I already talked with the other 3 and they didn't appear to want anything."

Kuina's face went a bit red, but she steeled herself and said quickly.

"I do have a request… I want to go with you… While talking with Reiju, Olivia and Bell-mere, I realized that both me and Elia never went around visiting other islands, and I would like to try visiting fishman island if you allow me to go today."

Ars thought about it for a second, and saw no problem with it, so he nodded and told her.

"Then go prepare yourself, and when you're ready meet me at Tom's house."

She nodded and left almost skipping, both Ars and Reiju smiled and laughed lightly at the sight. Ars then looked at Reiju, and asked her.

"And you Reiju, do you want something from me or fishman island?"

She smiled and gave a very sweet reply.

"No, I have everything I could wish for on this island. Good sisters, good friends, good followers and a good husband, I couldn't ask for anything else."

Ars smiled, grabbed her head and pulled her for a deep kiss. Reiju answered back by grabbing his shirt and also pulling him closer to her. But when Ars hand started to go a bit further, she pushed him with a teasing smile.

"I would love to go a bit further, but soon you have a ferryman job to do."

Ars showed a very unsatisfied look, but he sighed and nodded.

"You are right, we will leave this for later."

Ars went back to Tom's house to meet with Den and Tom. There he found Tom elaborating on their plans to have a natural source of light during the night.

"We are creating several prototypes capable of producing light at night using only plants and rocks.Think of it like the luminosity that we get back in fishman island. Imagine what we could add on ships, and what we could build with those."

Den nodded clearly interested. Ars seeing this couldn't help but laugh and comment a bit astonished.

"You haven't seen each other for years, and I only left you for a few hours at most… And you're already talking about your construction projects and possible usage of the new prototypes in the future of shipbuilding…"

Both Den and Tom looked at each other, grinned and then broke laughing.

Den suddenly stopped laughing, both to the surprise of the other 2. His face went completely serious, and finally he asked.

"The way you revived my brother… Is it possible to revive someone else, with no strings attached?"

Ars thought about it, yes it was possible to revive someone but they couldn't leave the island to go back to fishman island, and then they couldn't talk about it and if they were a public figure they needed to change their name and appearance, even if just a little.

"Yes and no… Yes I can revive more people, but there will be strings attached, probably a lot of them."

Den decided to elaborate a bit further.

"The fishman royal family a few years ago suffered a horrible incident… We lost our queen, I would like to inquire about what would be needed for us to do, so would you revive her."

Ars decided to explain.

"It's a bit complicated, to start with, if someone of a royal family that was confirmed dead for years suddenly came back completely fine, that will raise way too many questions. Another reason is even if I revive her, she is staying here for at least a few years, and finally her appearance and name will have to change, even if just a little."

Den was a bit saddened, but then he asked as he thought of a shred of hope.

"So if she stayed on this island and very few people knew of her being back, while those people kept living their lives like she wasn't back, would it be possible?"

Ars didn't see a problem with that option, so he nodded.

Den eyes shone, and bowed his head at Ars.

"Then please… bring back our naive and kind queen."

Ars laughed at how he described her, then he sighed and nodded, agreeing to Den's request.

"Fine, I will try, but I don't promise anything.

So Ars went back and moved to the machine where he prepared it to go try to fish for an Otohime.
