A Randan cruiser's void shield had just flickered to life with a flash of violet, when a massive golden beam pierced straight through it!
Axis raised his hand, palm outstretched, as a torrent of destructive energy erupted from his palm.
The Ki blast, after blowing through the first warship, barreled onward, punching holes through three more escort vessels.
A torrent of blue-white energy, brighter than a star, roared through the fleet.
Warships along its path were torn apart like paper toys, the ki beams acting like lasers as it cut through everything.
"Open fire! Fire everything!!" The Randan fleet commander's three pairs of compound eyes flashed frantically, his shrill screeches echoing over the comms.
More than ten thousand main batteries, turrets, and launchers all swiveled to lock onto that golden figure.
"Hmph!" Axis made no effort to dodge.
Instead, he unleashed his Ki, forming a green barrier around himself.
Boom! Boom!
The terrifying explosions didn't carry through the vacuum of space, but the shockwaves were enough to rock nearby ships.
When the flames cleared, Axis emerged, unscathed, his body shrouded in a jade-green shield.
"What is that thing? What kind of monster is this?"
"Haven't we left the Warp yet? Could this be some kind of Warp entity?" The Randan commander was completely stunned.
He had never seen anything like this, not even in his wildest dreams.
Axis clapped his hands together, and golden Ki flared around him tenfold!
The golden radiance lit up the whole region of space, then detonated outward from Axis as if he'd self-destructed, obliterating several Randan warships in an instant.
His golden aura flared again as he charged toward the Randan flagship.
This ship was even bigger than the ones he'd already destroyed. Practically a Gloriana-class, he thought. Hopefully it would take a little more effort.
"Stop him! Ram him with the assault boats—"
The commander never finished his order.
Axis had already become a golden meteor, ramming straight into the twenty-five-kilometer-long Randan mothership!
The thick nano-alloy armor melted like butter.
Axis rampaged through the ship's interior, bulkheads bursting around him, alien soldiers exploding into red mist wherever he passed.
"Screecg!" A Randan warrior barely raised his power blade before Axis blew his head apart with a casual flick of his finger.
Axis's fingers were like the touch of death, wherever he pointed, something died. Terrifying Ki blasts shot from his fingertips, blowing Randan and their armor into shrapnel.
Thud. Thud. Thud.
Axis advanced to the beat of death, each step making the warship tremble.
Three hundred fully-armed Randan guards surged from every direction, power blades forming a deadly net, yet, Axis grinned viciously and clenched his fists.
"Hehehehehe!"
Suddenly, golden Ki erupted from his body with explosive force. In an instant, all three hundred guards were vaporized!
A shockwave thundered down the corridors, snapping the mothership's superstructure in half, until half the gigantic ship detonated in the void, becoming a blazing fireball.
Damn, he thought, I didn't mean to blow up the whole thing.
But gods above, that felt good!
This was what it meant to be a Saiyan.
This was what pure enjoyment felt like!
Axis's silhouette danced in and out of the fiery blast, his golden aura swirling like a reaper's cloak.
His laughter echoed wild and ecstatic. Slaughter was, indeed, just a game to a Saiyan.
"But…It's not enough!" Axis roared, throwing his arms wide.
Countless golden energy blasts rained down like a storm, each one precisely targeting a Randan ship.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The void was ablaze with color as the Randan fleet's formation was shredded, debris tumbling through the waves of shock.
Burning fragments of metal scattered in every direction as Axis darted through the carnage, each flicker of movement marking the destruction of yet another ship.
Nothing could threaten him.
Axis was enjoying this festival of destruction for its own sake.
"Big Bang—!"
BOOM!!!
A golden beam, thousands of meters across, swept through space like a god's judgement, cleaving straight through the entire Randan fleet.
Every ship the beam touched vaporized instantly, leaving not even debris behind.
Space near the Warp rift began to twist and contort, as if unable to withstand the power.
The Randan were already despairing, this wasn't even a real battle, it was just a massacre.
They could never win. It was impossible.
"Retreat! Retreat!" A Randan commander finally broke down, his shrill scream echoing through the fleet comms.
At this point, he was completely terrified.
To hell with honor, to hell with duty. He just wanted to run, as far and as fast as possible.
The surviving ships veered away wildly, desperate to escape the killing field.
What remained of the Randan fleet fell into a full rout.
The golden figure blazing before them wasn't something they could fight.
No, he wasn't just a monster, he was a true demon, like the cruelest devil from the depths of Warp.
Axis raised his hand, gathering a searing ball of energy in his palm.
"Disappear."
The energy orb shot from his hand, expanding in an instant, engulfing nearly half the fleet.
A blinding white flash burst across the void, followed by a shockwave that shook even the shields of the human fleet.
Lion El'Jonson and Russ, seeing this, promptly ordered their ships to fall back even further.
When the light faded, the Randan fleet was gone, leaving only drifting wreckage to show it had ever existed.
Axis hovered in the void, exhaling a slow breath.
He glanced toward the human fleet, a faint smile curling his lips.
By now, the battered remnants of the Randan fleet were trying to restart their Warp engines and escape.
"Nah, nah. You can't run." Axis hovered in the debris-strewn starfield, spreading his hands as a green energy orb spun and expanded between his palms.
In the human command ship, every sensor blared with high-energy alarms.
"R-report! Lion, sir, that's—it's enough to destroy a planet. No—the energy reading, it's still rising, still climbing!" The mortal officer on monitoring duty was shaking by now.
He had to be dreaming, there couldn't be such a terrifying being in reality.
The energy readings kept spiking, breaking every limit on the instruments.
This was power enough to destroy entire worlds.
Lion El'Jonson's warning came over the comm: "Axis! That energy spike will trigger a Warp storm—!"
The Randan fleet had just exited the Warp rift, and now they were tearing open another to escape.
If Axis detonated that kind of power now, it would unleash a Warp storm that could engulf the entire region, it would a disaster beyond reckoning then.
"Isn't that just perfect!
"Let's give them a Warp storm and annihilate their entire fleet!" Axis roared with manic laughter.
At that moment, a bead of cold sweat ran down the Lion's forehead.
For the first time, he truly felt just how terrifying this young man was.
The madness in Axis's fighting spirit made him seem more beast than the Lion himself.
Damn it, he thought. Now, If anyone called him a beast pretending to be civilized, he'd take offense. Because Axis was the real monster here, a creature merely masquerading as human.
Axis lifted a titanic energy sphere, tens of thousands of meters across and as massive as a small asteroid, high above his head.
His muscles bulged, golden ki surging and now crackling with blue arcs of lightning.
"Stop! Axis, don't use that much power! That's just overkill" the Lion shouted, but Axis didn't seem to hear him at all.
Kasha was getting a bit worried at this point.
"Super—Nova!"
He hurled the energy sphere at the shattered remains of the Randan fleet.
The moment it touched the first enemy ship—
BZZZZT—
Time seemed to freeze.
Space itself fell eerily silent.
Then the monstrous energy sphere expanded into a cataclysmic field spanning astronomical units.
Every ship caught in its radius collapsed and disintegrated without a sound, crushed and finally compressed into a searing white singularity...
And then—
BOOOOOOM!!!
A burst of white light, brighter like a supernova, engulfed half the star system!
A tsunami of energy swept through the entire sector within minutes.
The human fleet began a desperate retreat, activating every void shield and energy barrier they had.
The ships shuddered violently.
Crew members felt their legs go weak. This was like an apocalypse unfolding before their eyes.
Half a star system was wiped out by a single blow from Axis.
Had they reacted even a moment slower, they too might have been obliterated.
When the shockwave finally passed, every human fleet commander and crew member collapsed to the deck, gasping for air.
Thank the Emperor, they were alive. They had survived.
As the light faded, Axis floated alone in the void, drifting above a field of metal wreckage.
His armor had been shattered, his battlesuit in tatters, he now floated shirtless in space, a wild grin still pread across his face.
The barely hanging on comms fell deathly silent.
Suspended there, Axis looked less like a god of war and more like a true god of destruction.
At last, Russ's raspy voice broke the silence:
"By the Emperor… that bastard is a walking Exterminatus."
He had already tried to overestimate Axis's power, but once again, he'd underestimated him.
Russ wondered how the Lion was taking this.
Would he be frightened by Axis? It wasn't the Lion he was worried about, but the mortal soldiers under his command.
Aboard the Lion's flagship, a human officer from Colchis dropped to his knees and began to pray.
"This is divine will! This is the Extermination brought by the great God-Emperor! Lord Axis is His messenger. Praise the Emperor!" The officer's devotion was absolute.
He had grown up in the Monarchia, raised and educated by Lord Lorgar himself to believe the Emperor was not merely a man, but a god.
A living god who would bring salvation to all humanity. The one who would lead mankind into glory.
The man who had just destroyed several planets, no, half a star system, must truly be the Emperor's messenger, the embodiment of divine power.
"Did you see that golden light? That's the power of the God-Emperor." Another officer from the Monarchia knelt as well.
Their actions spread like wildfire.
More humans, officers and crew alike, fell to their knees, praying to the Emperor.
"Enough! What are you doing? My father is not a god," Lion El'Jonson snapped.
"Great Son of the God, your father is our god! If he isn't, then can you explain what we just witnessed? Is this something a human can do?" the officer from the Monarchia replied, eyes shining with fervor.
As long as he kept his faith, as long as he remained the most devoted believer, maybe one day he too could possess such terrifying power.
A single man had destroyed an entire space fleet.
Lion was left speechless.
How was he supposed to answer that? Was Axis still human, or not?
To mortals this was indeed the power of a god.
Damn it, what sort of crazy cult had Lorgar created?
Lorgar had claimed it was just to inspire loyalty among the people, but all this god-making talk was rubbing the other Primarchs, and even the Emperor, the wrong way.
Lion hoped the Emperor would put a stop to it.
Axis floated in space, arms crossed, gazing at the gradually closing Warp rift.
The detonation of his energy had unleashed a raging Warp storm, and he could sense the surviving Randan ships within were being torn apart by the raging energies.
What a glorious massacre, Axis thought.
If he kept fighting like this, he'd probably have to go beyond his regular Super Saiyan transformation and ascend to the next level.
"Axis, are you alright? Are you still sane?" Kasha's voice came through, there was a lingering trembling in her voice.
She was worried Axis had lost himself under her watch.
"What nonsense are you spouting, Kasha? I'm perfectly fine, I'm just enjoying the most spectacular fireworks show in the universe," Axis replied.
"Every time you transform like this, I feel like you're not yourself," Kasha sighed.
"Prepare yourself, I'm pulling you back," Kasha said. The lingering fear in her voice had now subsided. But really, anyone would be shaken after seeing such a spectacle.
A blue portal of psychic might flared, and Axis was teleported back to the fleet.
