Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Fenris, a Theme Park?!

'This is really strange!'

Axis had a ton of questions, but he didn't dare to ask them out loud, because there were remnants of an interstellar civilization here.

What's more, there were things here that also existed on Earth, which gave Axis a vague sense of unease, this planet wasn't just similar to Earth from the Dragon Ball world, but to the Earth he himself had transmigrated from!

Axis had observed the night sky of Fenris and had noticed constellations that could only be seen from Earth, such as the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds, and even the Big Dipper.

Did this mean that the distance from here to Earth wasn't that far? And the planet's name was Fenris, after the legendary wolf from Norse mythology.

When he escaped aboard the spaceship, Axis had a vague feeling that he'd passed through some strange space before entering normal space and finally landing on this planet.

So, was it possible that he wasn't in the Dragon Ball universe at all?

The humans here couldn't learn to use ki at all, but he could.

There were just so many things here that resembled Earth, and Axis made a bold guess in his heart: this planet must have been colonized by humans from Earth.

Axis was a little shocked by his own thoughts! If what he suspected was true, did that mean he could go home?

Go back to his true homeland, Earth.

Not the Earth of the Dragon Ball universe.

"Russ! I have a favor to ask you, is that okay?" Axis finally spoke up.

Some things just had to be clarified. Where exactly was this planet he'd ended up on?

"My little wolf cub, just say it! If I can help you, I will." Russ nodded.

"Russ! Can you find me some history about this planet? I want to learn about Fenris's past," Axis asked.

The best way to know if this planet had any connection to Earth was to learn about its history.

"The history of this planet? You mean the past? Why are you interested in the past? The past is already gone," Russ replied.

On Fenris, due to the harsh environment, people never cared about the past.

They only cared about the present and the future, about whether they could survive. That was all.

"I have something really important I need to confirm," Axis insisted.

It was obvious that this planet had traces of colonisation, but by whom?

Was it really humans from Earth? Or maybe some other similar aliens! After all, the Dragon Ball world was an anime, and its aliens more or less resembled humans.

If he were still in the Dragon Ball world, and this really was a colony of some spacefaring aliens, would those aliens ever return to this planet?

Would they report it to King Frieza's army?

All of this, he needed to find out.

"There's no recorded history on this planet. Our tribe doesn't keep records, we only pass on our survival skills to the next generation. So, I don't have any historical records," Russ shrugged.

Fenris didn't have any sort of complete history, only some scattered records. None of the people here were actually native to this planet.

"My little spaceship has a really advanced AI. We can go to those big steel ruins and use my ship's computer to decode whatever's on their systems," Axis said.

Since there were no written records on the planet, Axis wanted to try investigating its data through old technological relics, using his ship's systems to see what he could find.

"You mean… you can use your ship's tech to access information in those ancient relics?" Russ asked.

"Yeah! As long as the damage isn't too bad, I should be able to recover the data," Axis replied.

"Alright then! Once we're back at the tribe, I'll have them bring anything from the ruins back here," Russ nodded.

Axis nodded and immediately shot into the sky, heading back to the tribe by flying, a method he used ever since learning how. Russ, meanwhile, rode his giant wolf brother home.

Watching Axis soar away, Russ couldn't help but look on with envy.

He was seriously jealous of Axis's ability to fly.

Once back at the tribe, Russ ordered the warriors to haul any salvageable machines from the ancient ruins to Axis's place.

Within just half a month, dozens of battered old computers were brought to him.

After tinkering with them for a while, Axis managed to find three that could still barely store data, the rest were too far gone with age to function.

Eagerly, Axis hooked them up to his spaceship and started decrypting their files.

Very quickly, the data was extracted.

Axis could hardly wait to sift through it, only to find something that left him utterly stunned.

"Human Tourist World: Fenris, Norse Theme Park, Year 825, M25 records."

"Norse Mythology Theme Park: Planetary weather modified. Template, Three Years of Fenrisian Winter, One Year of Summer."

"Genetic engineering to alter local life, import Earth species, modify snow wolf genes to create Norse myth giant wolves."

"Creation of World Serpent, various Norse myth animals, released into Fenris Theme Park for visitors from across the stars."

WTF!!

Axis stared in disbelief at the information on the screen.

"How… How is this possible?"

He could hardly believe what he was reading.

If these records were real, this planet truly had been colonized by Earth humans. He really might not be in the Dragon Ball universe after all.

Axis's heart was a mess of emotions. Excitement at the chance to return to his true home, and fear at the unknowns of this universe.

He dashed straight to Leman Russ's audience hall, eager to share his discovery, only to find Russ entertaining a stranger.

The man was wrapped in a cloak, extraordinarily tall, taller even than Russ. Axis glanced at him briefly before rushing to Russ.

"Russ, I've found something huge! Have you ever heard of Earth?" Axis asked, breathless with excitement.

But before Russ could respond, the cloaked stranger slowly looked up, revealing deep, shadowed eyes beneath his hood.

His voice was low and powerful, tinged with nostalgia:

"Earth… Now that's a name to remember. But these days, it's called Terra, Holy Terra."

Axis's heart dropped. 'Terra? Holy Terra?'

The unfamiliar name sent a chill through him.
