The warm bath did little to calm Kaelith's racing heart. He sat still as the maids scrubbed and washed his long hair.
'Gods, his hand was on my lips… Was he really about to…?'
He shook the thought away, cheeks still burning.
He wasn't ready for this… whatever this was. And yet, he panicked.
'This never happened, Kaelith. Never! I'll just act like nothing happened, and I'm sure he'll do the same.'
Clearing away all his thoughts, he yawned.
"You must be hungry, my Lord?"
A maid asked politely as she retrieved some fresh clothes for Kaelith.
"Indeed I am. After this, bring food to my chamber," Kaelith ordered with a calm, straight face, his eyes scanning the room.
"I'm sorry, Lord Kaelith, but your father and uncle instructed us to bring you to the dining chamber after you've cleaned up," she replied, bowing slightly.
"Hmmm… alright then. Hurry up."
He was immediately wrapped in soft blue robes and dressed in something regal yet simple.
