Chapter 13 - A Fireball, A Frenzy, and a Feather

Their anger came mostly from frustration, thinking Lee Kiwook's incompetence had tarnished the academy's reputation.

However, now that they had discovered just how ridiculously strong he was, they not only dropped any resentment, they actually started seeing him as mysterious and fascinating.

Mysterious and fascinating, the two most powerful weapons in any teenager's social circle.

They didn't even care that Lee Kiwook was a commoner anymore.

The three of them quickly crowded around him and slinging arms over his shoulders like they were old friends. "So this is what they call Eastern sorcery? You Easterners really are amazing!"

Lee Kiwook just smiled wordlessly.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the academy, the first thing Professor Pedro did after storming out of the classroom was to shove open the door of the headmaster's office in a fury.

"What's the matter, Mr. Professor Pedro? Who made you this angry? Oh, let me guess—it's that the repeat student again, isn't it?" Headmaster Junius was in the middle of removing his heavy silver wig and trying to place it on the head of the owl perched on his shoulder.

The owl twisted and turned to avoid the ridiculous wig, squawking miserably until it saw Professor Pedro enter and immediately launched itself toward him like it had just spotted its savior.

"No, you, Headmaster," Professor Pedro snapped as he instinctively raised an arm to catch the owl. He was so furious he didn't even bother using Junius's name. His expression darkened as he faced the headmaster. "Class S has always been the best in the academy, a symbol of our institution's excellence. What on earth made you decide to put a repeating student in that class?"

"Oh, and also the one who tried to switching to other department on the very first day," Professor Pedro added, almost in disbelief.

"Hm? He wanted to switching to other department? How amusing…" Headmaster Junius chuckled as he stroked his shiny bald head, clearly enjoying the drama. But when he saw Professor Pedro's expression growing darker by the second, he cleared his throat and sobered up. "Then let me ask you this, what kind of student do you think deserves to be placed in Class S?"

Professor Pedro answered without hesitation, "Elion, who sensed the Light element at age five. Leon, who became a Junior Fire Mage by age ten. Messalia, who mastered ten wind spells at thirteen…"

He listed example after example passionately, students from both noble and commoner backgrounds, demonstrating that he had shown no favoritism based on status.

Headmaster Junius listened to him with a cheerful smile, then turned around and picked up a feather to tease the sulking owl. "Then let me ask you this, can any of them compare to a student capable of mastering all magic types?"

"All magic types?" Professor Pedro's eyes widened in disbelief. "How could anyone possibly sense that many magic elements?"

The academy had previously seen students who could sense two types of magical elements and every one of them had become among the world's most elite mages.
