Sun Wukong and the others weren't frozen in fear or awe.
They were simply distracted—completely immersed in the Thug Group Chat.
Just moments ago, a new message had popped up.
Jack, the leader of the group, had made an announcement:
Jack: "@All Members: A new mission has arrived! Check it out when you're free. If you're too busy, just skip it."
That one message was enough to light a fire in the group.
Beerus: "Finally! A new mission at last!"
Champa: "This time, the warriors of Universe 6 will grab the mission! We won't lose again!"
Beerus: "@Champa, don't get too excited. I've got a strong feeling this time, the warriors of Universe 7 are going to claim it."
Champa: "Hmph! If someone from Universe 7 gets the mission, then that's one less participant from your side who can even show up!"
Beerus: "That's fine by me. As long as even one of us grabs the mission, it's a win. Imagine this—by the time the group gathers, all the participants from Universe 7 have already completed their missions, while your side hasn't even managed to grab a single one."
Champa: "That's impossible! I refuse to believe the warriors from Universe 6 won't snag at least one mission before the next group event!"
Beerus: "Well then, let's wait and see. But if your warriors do get a mission and fail to play their part... then what's the point?"
Champa: "We'll discuss that when it happens. Right now, we haven't even finalized who's going to play."
Hit (quietly chiming in): "If I remember correctly, didn't Piccolo from Universe 7 mention that Frieza has been resurrected, and that Goku and the others were preparing to deal with him?"
Champa: "That's right! Excellent point, Hit!"
Champa: "@Piccolo, @Goku, @Vegeta—if I'm not mistaken, you three are currently handling that troublemaker, Frieza, right?"
Champa: "If that's the case, you'd better focus on him instead of taking the mission. Let those of us who are free handle the job."
Vegeta: "Tch. It's just Frieza. He's nothing serious. Compared to a new group mission, he's hardly worth the effort."
Beerus: "Thank you, Vegeta. If that fool Frieza dares interrupt any of us during the mission grab, I'll just erase him on the spot!"

Meanwhile, Frieza was completely oblivious to the conversation taking place in the Thug Group Chat.
He stared at Goku, Vegeta, and the others, noticing their frozen expressions and focused eyes. They weren't watching him—they were watching something else.
He didn't understand what they were looking at, but he did understand one thing:
This was the perfect chance to strike!
Seizing the opportunity, Frieza powered up and launched himself toward Goku and Vegeta, aiming to kill—or at the very least, seriously injure—them before they could react.
Neither Goku nor Vegeta had transformed yet, and Frieza was confident that in his golden form, he could wipe them out.
But just as he was about to strike, a figure suddenly appeared before him, blocking his path with effortless grace.
Frieza's golden aura flickered with hesitation.
His crimson eyes widened in shock.
"B—Beerus?!"
That's right. The one who appeared before him was none other than Lord Beerus, the God of Destruction of Universe 7.
While Goku and Vegeta were distracted by the mission post, they hadn't noticed Frieza's movement. But Beerus had.
Beerus had been keeping an eye on them the entire time.
And seeing Frieza try to ambush his fellow universe members while they were focusing on a critical group event?
Unforgivable.
If Frieza succeeded in interrupting Goku and Vegeta, they might miss the opportunity to grab the mission. If someone from Universe 6 took the mission instead, it would be disastrous!
Beerus narrowed his eyes.
"Frieza, you've gotten bold. Calling me by name now, are you?"
Frieza stiffened and quickly corrected himself. "Lord Beerus… I-I didn't know you were here!"
His tone shifted from arrogant to submissive in an instant.
He hated this, bowing his head to anyone—but he wasn't stupid.
He may have grown stronger since his resurrection, but against Beerus, his strength was meaningless. The God of Destruction could reduce him to dust with a flick of his finger.
But... why was Beerus here?
Why Earth? It was just a backwater planet in a remote solar system. Hardly worth the attention of a cosmic being like Beerus.
Was he here to protect Goku and Vegeta?
Could it be that those two had earned the protection of a God?
---
By now, Goku and Vegeta had snapped out of their trance and realized what had just happened.
Seeing Frieza standing frozen in front of Beerus, they immediately understood.
Frieza had tried to sneak attack them while they were checking the mission list.
Without their transformations active, they would've been severely injured—or worse.
Thankfully, Lord Beerus had intervened.
Vegeta clenched his fists in frustration, his pride wounded by the close call. Goku looked calm but nodded in thanks.
Beerus turned to Frieza.
"You want to know why I'm here? That's none of your business."
"I don't care what grudge you have with Goku or Vegeta."
"But you can't attack them now."
Beerus pointed toward the pair.
"And it's not just them. You can't lay a finger on anyone who might grab the mission. Not Goku, not Vegeta, not Piccolo, Krillin, or the others. Understood?"
Frieza's confusion grew.
He stared at Beerus, then at the others.
Why couldn't he attack?
What was this "mission" everyone was talking about?
Still, he kept his tone respectful. "Lord Beerus… may I ask… when will I be allowed to deal with them?"
He didn't want to risk angering Beerus, so he chose his words carefully. Was this some kind of temporary protection?
Beerus gave a casual shrug.
"They're participating in a mission grab right now. Once that's over, do whatever you want."
Frieza's brain practically short-circuited.
Mission grab? What the hell did that even mean?
He didn't understand any of it.
He glanced at Goku and Vegeta. If they returned to their full power forms, would he even be able to defeat them? Maybe… maybe not.
But none of it mattered now.
Beerus was in the way. And when Beerus said "no," he meant it.
Frieza had no choice but to back off, swallowing his pride once again.

Meanwhile, Jack posted the mission screen to the group chat, sharing all the details.
A wave of excitement surged through the Thug Group.
This was no ordinary mission.
The screen displayed scenes from a different world—a futuristic city under siege. Explosions filled the air. Alien ships descended. Civilians screamed as buildings collapsed around them.
It was the world of the Avengers.
Jack's voice rang in the chat:
Jack: "The mission is set. You'll be helping a world known as the Avengers Universe resist an alien invasion. Anyone interested, grab it now!"
The chat exploded.
Beerus: "Looks like a fun job!"
Vegeta: "Heh, those invaders won't know what hit them!"
Krillin: "Do we know who the client is this time?"
Piccolo: "Doesn't matter. We just need to get there first."
Goku: "Wait, what kind of aliens are they? Are they like the Frieza Force?"
Jack: "You'll find out once you grab the mission. You've got 30 seconds before it locks."
The race began.
Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Krillin—all focused on tapping the mission request.
Meanwhile, Frieza stood off to the side, gritting his teeth.
He didn't understand what was happening, but one thing was certain:
He'd been left out. Again.
