Vegeta's dream had always been to defeat Son Goku.
But up until now, his strength had always fallen slightly short of Goku's, making that dream elusive.
Now, things had changed. His strength had increased tremendously. This was finally the perfect opportunity to achieve his goal and surpass Kakarot!
---
Krillin: "@Vegeta, that's not fair! You've completed missions and received massive power boosts, but Goku hasn't even completed one yet!"
Krillin: "You're just taking advantage of his current weakness. That's low."
Piccolo: "Exactly. If this were a fair contest, you'd challenge him after he had a chance to complete a mission too."
Piccolo: "If Goku completed a mission and didn't receive any combat-boosting rewards, then sure—go ahead and challenge him. That would be fair."
Piccolo: "But right now? You're attacking someone who hasn't had the same chance. That's not like you, Vegeta."
---
Vegeta scowled at their comments.
Vegeta: "Why? Didn't I earn that mission fair and square? My current power is the result of my own effort—and Bulma's help."
Vegeta: "It's not like I cheated. I trained. I pushed myself. I got stronger through legitimate means. What's unfair about that?"
He didn't mind taking every opportunity to grow stronger—even if that meant racing ahead of Goku.
Of course, his idea of "means" was strictly limited to training and boosting his own strength. He had no intention of sneak attacks or ambushing Goku while injured.
Vegeta was proud. He wanted an open, honorable battle. Just like the time during the Majin Buu crisis, when he willingly let Babidi control him to unlock greater power. Back then, some had said he'd used underhanded methods. But even then, he'd fought Goku head-on.
This time, there were no shortcuts—only hard-earned progress, aided by technology and intense training.
---
In fact, if this situation happened in the past, it would be the same as using the Gravity Room Bulma built for him to grow stronger. Would anyone have asked him to wait until Goku caught up? Of course not.
So why was now any different?
Was he supposed to pause his own progress just so Goku could catch up?
Vegeta: "My strength was built with effort and grit. There's nothing 'unfair' about it. Why shouldn't I challenge Kakarot?"
---
Goku: "Alright, Vegeta. If your power's grown that much, then let's fight!"
Goku: "Fighting strong opponents helps me grow stronger too!"
Goku wasn't the least bit upset. On the contrary, he was excited.
He had never cared about whether Vegeta was stronger or not. His only goal had always been to fight powerful opponents and grow stronger with each battle.
And besides, this wouldn't be the first time Vegeta had surpassed him. Back when Beerus had arrived and threatened Earth, Vegeta had unleashed an incredible burst of power when Beerus slapped Bulma. That moment, he had temporarily overtaken Goku.
---
Master Roshi: "That's Goku for you. He doesn't care if he's surpassed or not—he just wants to fight strong opponents and keep getting better."
Tien: "But if that's the case… wouldn't it make things even worse for Vegeta?"
Tien: "Vegeta's spent his whole life trying to surpass Goku, but Goku never took that seriously. That's practically ignoring him!"
Tien had a point. When Vegeta saw Goku's carefree reaction, it only made his own frustration grow.
His dream was to surpass Kakarot—but Kakarot didn't even care. That felt like an insult in itself.
---
Krillin: "That's just Goku's mindset. He's always focused on growth and strength. Whoever surpasses him doesn't matter—he's just happy to have someone new to fight."
Beerus: "I don't know what kind of rivalry you two have, but Goku clearly has the bigger perspective. Compared to that, @Vegeta, your mindset feels... smaller."
Vegeta: "I don't care. My goal is to surpass Kakarot. That's always been my dream!"
Champa: "@Vegeta, then let me ask you something. What happens after you defeat Goku? What's next for you? Any other dreams?"
Vegeta: "I'll figure that out when the time comes. Maybe I'll focus on completing more missions and growing even stronger."
Vegeta: "That way, I can stay ahead of Kakarot for good!"
---
Grand Zeno: "This sounds fun! Can I watch the battle? I couldn't see any of the earlier missions. It was kind of boring not knowing what happened!"
Beerus: "Lord Zeno's right. Aside from the first mission Krillin completed—which was live-streamed—we haven't shown much."
Beerus: "It would be better if future missions included shared visuals so everyone could see what's going on."
Jack: "Good idea. From now on, I'll share the mission screen directly in the group."
Jack: "That way, everyone can see the situation before the mission even begins. You'll also know who the employer is, so there's no more awkward guesswork."
---
Previously, when thugs were sent into different worlds for missions, they often had to ask around just to figure out who the employer was—especially if the employer wasn't alone.
It wasted time. It made things clumsy.
But with Jack's update, they could now see the mission status and the employer in advance.
It streamlined the entire process. No more stumbling around unfamiliar worlds asking, "Who hired us?"
---
Even better, the shared mission screens meant that the rest of the group could watch the action unfold—even if the person on the mission didn't start a livestream.
Whether they completed the task or failed, everyone would now have a front-row seat.
Champa: "Thank you, Mr. Jack, for sharing the screens!"
Beerus: "Tch, Champa, don't think flattering Lord Jack will help you grab the next mission."
Beerus: "Still... thank you, Lord Jack. You really do think of everything."
