Chapter 264 - Chapter 263: The Demon King

"Hahaha, my sister sure has a lot of interesting people among her servants. Xenovia, I know you've just been reincarnated, so this may be a bit selfish of me, but I hope you can support the Gremory household as one of Rias's peerage. I'm counting on you."

"To be personally asked by the legendary Demon King Lucifer, whose name even appears in the Bible… it'd be rude to decline. I'm not sure how much I can help, but I'll do my best." Xenovia raised her eyebrows slightly as she replied.

Hearing her response, Sirzechs smiled gently.

After that, the group went to a hotel to have dinner together. Yoru made a quick apologetic call to inform Sona of the change in plans. She chuckled and said she was about to call him herself to tell him not to come home tonight.

Realizing the implication, Yoru felt a shiver of fear. If Sirzechs was here… then that meant Sona's sister, Serafall, must've arrived too.

If he foolishly went back tonight, wouldn't he be walking right into the grasp of Lady Leviathan herself?

Just thinking about it made him uneasy. If that siscon Demon King learned that his beloved little sister had been completely devoured by someone, who knows what terrifying thing he might do?

After dinner, the question of where Sirzechs and Grayfia would spend the night came up. Fortunately, Yoru quickly thought of a solution.

The large house Azazel had taken him to yesterday was spacious and definitely suitable for overnight guests.

Sirzechs immediately approved of the idea, showing an unusual enthusiasm for occupying his old friend's residence.

Azazel's house in the human world was quiet and empty, and it seemed the Fallen Angel Governor himself wasn't home. Sirzechs looked a little disappointed by that.

Grayfia picked a room and went to sleep, but Sirzechs didn't go with his wife—instead, he came to Yoru's room.

"There's something I'd like to discuss with you. I hope I'm not bothering you?"

Sirzechs smiled as he said that. Yoru casually shook his head.

"Then that's good. You've already met Azazel, haven't you?"

"Yes," Yoru nodded lightly.

"He didn't do anything to you? Did he say anything?"

"Nothing worth remembering. Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if that Fallen Angel Governor might be mentally unstable."

Yoru said with a smirk. Sirzechs blinked, looking puzzled.

"Why do you say that?"

"He clearly came all the way to see me, but when he did, he didn't say anything of substance. Then he just tossed out a 'let's meet again next time' and left. What else would you call that if not brain damage?"

Yoru chuckled as he spoke. Sirzechs, on the other hand, had a rather odd expression.

"Well, it is weird, but if it's Azazel, I can't say I'm surprised. Still, you should be cautious. That guy is extremely interested in Sacred Gears. The one in your body is likely some kind of unknown Longinus, and he definitely won't just sit back and ignore that."

"Even so, I doubt he'd make a move right now. I mean, this Three Factions Meeting is pretty important. I don't think even that weirdo would try anything in such a critical moment."

Yoru said thoughtfully, and Sirzechs nodded.

"That much is true. As eccentric as he is, Azazel is still part of the conservative faction. He might want to use Sacred Gears to achieve something, but he has plenty of options. At the very least, he's not as aggressive as Kokabiel. During the last war, it was the Fallen Angels who first agreed to a ceasefire. So, in that sense, Azazel is a somewhat reliable guy."

Yoru nodded in agreement. Even Kokabiel had said that Azazel had no interest in war, so it was unlikely that he'd start trouble during such a sensitive time.

Of course, that didn't mean Azazel wouldn't cause trouble later. After all, Yoru was someone with limitless potential—enough to make even the Angels wary.

If given the chance, Yoru was certain that Azazel would gladly make him vanish without a trace.

Perhaps sensing what Yoru was thinking, Sirzechs gave him a reassuring smile.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure you're protected. A miracle like you being born on the Devil side is incredibly rare—I'll treat you with special care. Besides, my sister thinks the world of you. I've rarely seen Rias so happy. I'd say that's all thanks to you."

"I didn't really do much," Yoru replied with a sheepish smile.

Sirzechs didn't seem to mind and waved it off.

"Alright then, let's stop talking about the Three Factions Meeting. I'd like to talk about something more personal."

Sirzechs smiled again. Yoru blinked in surprise. Personal?

Was he going to bring up Rias? Was this the moment when the Demon King officially entrusted his precious sister to him?

But what came out of Sirzechs's mouth next completely blindsided him.

"What do you think of Grayfia?"

The question hit Yoru like a truck. His eyes immediately went wide with disbelief as he stared at the famous Lucifer of the Underworld sitting in front of him.

This guy… is he seriously asking me for permission to NTR his wife!?

"G-Grayfia-san…? She's… amazing. The perfect maid…"

Although Yoru had no idea where this was going, he gave an honest answer. Grayfia had indeed left a deep impression on him. The silver-haired Queen of Annihilation reminded him a lot of Riveria.

Yoru had realized long ago that he had no resistance against women who gave off a strong maternal aura. But since she was Sirzechs's wife, he'd done his best to suppress those feelings.

"I see… So if I asked you to take care of Grayfia, what would your answer be?"

Just as Yoru was wondering what the Demon King was trying to get at, Sirzechs suddenly dropped that bomb.

"W-What did you just say?!"

Yoru's eyes went round as saucers. He stared at the Underworld's famed Demon King, Lucifer himself, utterly dumbfounded.
