Canna herself probably couldn't even say clearly what her feelings for Yoru truly were. Take Shigenji Shirou, also a servant—Canna saw him as a younger brother, and initially, it was the same with Yoru.
But as time passed and they spent more time together, Canna soon realized that she couldn't fully treat Yoru as just a younger brother.
When he wasn't around, she missed him. During work, not seeing his figure would leave her absent-minded and dazed. Even though she smiled and generously pushed him toward Rias, saying that Yoru would be acting as her servant for the next few days, her heart ached terribly inside.
Although she was proud of him—watching him shine brilliantly in the Rating Game made her feel thrilled—deep inside, there was a bitter feeling that words couldn't describe.
Because the one he risked everything to protect wasn't her. The one for whom he won glory… wasn't her either.
What Yoru had said was right—she was jealous. Deeply jealous. Jealous that Rias could openly declare to the world that Yoru was her servant, while she, despite also being his master, could only stand by and watch in silence.
It was unfair. Yoru was clearly also her servant. So why… why?
Her body began to tremble uncontrollably. The more she thought about it, the more wronged she felt, and a surge of emotion she could no longer suppress threatened to bring her to tears.
And as if he could tell exactly what she was thinking, Yoru gave her a gentle smile. The hand holding her drew her closer, as though he wanted to melt her delicate frame into his own.
"If you want to cry… then just cry your heart out. It's okay to act spoiled with me, Canna-nee."
As he took in the sweet scent of her body, Yoru spoke in a slightly lazy, drawn-out voice.
"H-Hurry up! Someone's coming!" Canna fumbled to fix her clothes in a panic, while at the same time trying to push Yoru off and stop his mischievous hands.
"What's the rush? I told you, if you don't give the word, they won't dare come in."
Yoru, sounding as relaxed as ever, showed no intention of letting go, continuing to cling to her like a spoiled child.
"S-Stop doing that…"
"President? You've been talking with Yoru for quite a while. I'm coming in!"
A male voice rang out from outside the door. Yoru recognized it instantly—it was Shigenji Shirou.
"Shirou, it's fine. I have something very important to discuss with Yoru."
Seeing that Yoru still refused to let go, Canna could only sigh and respond helplessly.
