Chapter 22 - New Day

"Bzzzz! Bzzzz! Bzzzz!!!"

The intense vibration of a phone echoed through the dark room from the bedside.

Hearing the noisy sound, a slender arm stretched out from under the blanket, fumbling around until it finally found the phone.

The owner of the arm didn't pick it up, just impatiently tapped the screen to stop the sound before retracting the arm back under the covers, as if nothing had happened.

"..."

No one knew how much time had passed…

Shiro suddenly opened his eyes inside the blanket!

Everything in front of him was pitch black, and his hand seemed to be gripping something incredibly soft and uncontrollable.

He instinctively gave it a light squeeze…

"Mm~"

A voice filled with intoxicating allure reached his ears.

That soft moan was like a siren's call, bewitching and pulling him into temptation, nearly making Pablo stand at attention once again.

Feeling the softness in his grasp, memories of last night flashed through Shiro's mind…

In the end, his little brother couldn't resist the temptation. But thankfully, it was just a plastic pair of scissors.

That crazy girl, Kiyoko, was just trying to scare him while indulging in a little dominatrix roleplay. After all, back when they were together, she was always on the receiving end!

Unfortunately for her, Escape Artist Kamishiro Shiro was a hardcore dominant.

He flipped the tables on the female knight and turned the situation into something… much more interesting.

It wasn't until the crack of dawn that they finally stopped~

Recalling everything, Shiro remained frozen under the blanket, his hand still resting in the same position.

Emmm…

Wasn't his college life getting a bit too bizarre? It was almost as chaotic as his high school days.

No matter how surreal things got, the priority was still escaping first. If Kiyoko woke up, things would get troublesome!

That's right—scumbag Shiro had decided to hide from Kiyoko for now.

He feared that if he rejected her next time, she'd be holding real scissors instead of plastic ones. So for now—run away!

Avoidance might be shameful, but it was also the most effective strategy!

Carefully, he removed his hand and crawled out from under the blanket.

Probably because of how exhausted she was last night, Kiyoko barely stirred, only letting out an unconscious soft moan. Even as Shiro got fully dressed, she remained in a deep slumber like a sleeping beauty.

Looking at Kiyoko on the bed, her face flushed and her hair disheveled, Shiro silently helped tidy her hair and tucked the blanket around her.

With a practiced hand, he gently wiped away a small stain at the corner of her lips before turning to leave.

Click.

The moment the door closed, the sleeping beauty lying on the bed opened her eyes.

She had already woken up earlier, she just didn't know how to face the situation.

Even though she had been so bold last night, that was just the alcohol talking, mixed with all the stress she had bottled up!

Now that she had sobered up, even with her usual "mature" personality, she was still just a girl. How could she possibly have the courage to be the first one to wake up and deal with the aftermath?!

Sitting up, she stared at the door with a gaze full of resentment.

"As expected… Even after all these years, a scumbag is still a scumbag. After everything, he still doesn't plan on taking responsibility!"

However…

"Kamishiro Shiro, our college life has only just begun!"

Kiyoko's lips curled into a mischievous grin.

He won't escape!

Now that she knew where Shiro lived and which club he was in, the rest would be easy!

Kiyoko Kamio will have the perfect first love!

"Haah~"

Walking through the streets, Shiro let out a huge yawn.

He hadn't had a good night's sleep for two days now. If this continued, even a body as strong as his wouldn't hold up.

He planned to head over to GB (Grand Blue) to fix his sleep schedule

. Wasn't there a freshman welcome party today? He almost forgot about it! Maybe a little drink before sleeping would help~

With a relaxed smile, he made his way to GB, completely unaware of what awaited him there!

Meanwhile, at the dive shop…

The upperclassmen were eagerly preparing the necessary props and drinks for the welcome party.

As for the freshmen…

They were sitting stiffly on the couch with serious expressions!

"So, you're telling me that after I passed out last night, something completely unforgivable happened?!"

Iori propped his chin on his hand, looking extremely serious.

Who knew what kind of dose Shiro had used on him?

Whatever it was, it knocked him out until this morning, making him miss the entire mixer!

If it weren't for Kohei kindly carrying him back, he might've still been passed out at the izakaya.

After hearing Aina and Kohei's account of what happened last night, Iori was now fully aware of the madness that had transpired.

And to top it off… Azusa-san had casually revealed that someone didn't come home last night!

At this moment, Azusa was lounging comfortably on the couch, sipping on some alcohol.

Even though that damn "pigeon" ditched her again, this time, she didn't wait around like a fool. Instead, she had gone straight to Shiro's bed, helped herself to a good night's sleep, and even tidied up his room~

She was certain that when Shiro returned, he would absolutely love what she did to his room~

Aina, on the other hand, was sitting beside them with a bright red face.

She didn't know where Shiro had gone, but Kiyoko hadn't returned last night either!

There was no need to guess what those two were up to.

But… But wasn't that something you were only supposed to do after getting married?!

Those two were way too bold!

Wait—wasn't Kiyoko planning to kill that scumbag?!

Could it be…?

Aina's face instantly turned pale.

If that was the case, she'd rather it be the first scenario than the second!

The calmest person in the room was Kouhei.

After last night's mixer, he had learned a valuable lesson,

'Three-dimensional women are terrifying!'

When Kiyoko dragged Shiro into the shop yesterday, he didn't even have the courage to call the cops!

Creak~

Just as everyone was drowning in their own thoughts, a familiar sleepy-looking bastard walked in while yawning, heading straight for the bar.

"Haah~ Nana-hua-nee, do you have any milk? I'm exhausted…"

"Oh, Shiro, you're here! Milk? Hmm, I don't have any. Want something else instead?"

"Oh, then just give me a beer."

"..."

Nanaka froze.

Wasn't there too much of a gap between those two drink choices?!

In the end, she silently handed him a glass of water. She was afraid that if he started drinking already, he'd pass out before the freshman party even began.

Shiro accepted the water with a thanks and made his way toward the sofa.

His waist was still sore from last night's exercise.

Azusa noticed him coming over and smiled as she patted her lap, clearly offering a lap pillow.

Oblivious to the fact that he had once again forgotten his promise to Azusa, Shiro grinned brightly as he walked toward her.

Lap pillow! Hehehe, my lap pillow~

Smack!

Before he could get close, two hands grabbed him by the shoulders.

He turned around…

Only to see two demon-like faces glaring at him!

"Yo! Kamishiro-kun! Why don't you tell us about your dreamlike night?"

=????(??? ????)

Oh, right.

He had completely forgotten about these two jealous bastards.

.....................…..

"So why are you here?"

Shiro, sporting a swollen pig-like face, looked at Aina in confusion.

At this moment, his once-handsome features were nowhere to be seen. If the girls who admired him saw this, they'd probably bury Iori and Kohei alive.

"...So you really forgot what today is?"

Aina looked at him speechlessly. This was completely different from the god-like figure she had imagined! And where was Kiyoko?!

"Eh? Isn't it the freshman welcome party? Freshmen... Sorry, I haven't slept in a while, my brain isn't working properly."

Shiro turned his head away awkwardly. Damn it! He actually forgot that Aina was the freshman this event was for…

"..."

Aina sighed.

Shiro was nothing like the forums described. She couldn't wait to see how those fangirls would react to this goofy and clueless side of him.

"So where's Kiyoko?"

Aina asked with a gossipy look. She was dying to know what happened next.

After their mixer ended abruptly last night, they had tried to find Shiro and Kiyoko, but the two had vanished into thin air.

The only place nearby was a sketchy love hotel, and its owner looked like a straight-up delinquent. No way they went in there!

Having been tormented by curiosity all night, Aina couldn't hold back her gossip-loving heart any longer. She was now fully convinced, Shiro had to be the scumbag who had abandoned Kiyoko back in high school!

"Kiyoko? No idea. She's probably still sleeping. We stayed up pretty late last night."

As he spoke, Shiro yawned again. Looked like he really needed to catch up on sleep later.

Hearing his words, Aina's face turned bright red. W-Was this really something she could hear for free?!

"T-Then shouldn't you be with Kiyoko right now?"

Aina stammered.

According to TV dramas, at this moment, the male lead should be by the female lead's side!

"(?′`)? With her? Why?"

"...Isn't a boyfriend supposed to stay with his girlfriend?"

"But I'm not her boyfriend (;'A`)."

"..."

That one short sentence completely fried Aina's brain.

Not a couple?! But they slept together?!

Just what kind of relationship did these two have?!

Aina stood frozen, staring at Shiro as he yawned and walked away. She immediately pulled out her phone and called Kiyoko!

Kiyoko… Kiyoko might have been deceived by a scumbag again!

"Beep... beep... beep..."

"Moshi moshi~"

A lazy voice answered. Kiyoko was lying on her bed in the hotel, having just taken a shower and ready to nap.

"Kiyoko! This is bad! That scumbag tricked you again! Kamishiro just said you two aren't even dating!"

Aina shouted in a panic. She couldn't let her best friend get played by a scumbag again!

Hearing Aina's words, Kiyoko smirked and lazily replied.

"Well~ this matter, Aina, you don't need to worry about it. I know what's going on. But rest assured, that guy, Shiro, won't escape from the palm of my hand!

I might even need your help when the time comes!

That's it, Aina, I'm so sleepy~ I'll tell you all the details when I get back. Then I'll give you a good description of how it feels~"

"Who wants to hear about that feeling?!"

Aina's face turned bright red as she hung up the phone. How did a perfectly normal girl turn into an old man with that kind of attitude?!

Also… what exactly is the relationship between you two?! Is this even a normal kind of relationship? Why do I suddenly feel like I've become your spy?! (゚Д゚)

Aina felt exhausted, like she was about to cry. Why did making just one phone call leave her feeling so drained…

Aina slumped her shoulders as she made her way to the trio's side. Looking at the three bruised and battered faces before her, she let out a deep sigh. So exhausting~

"By the way, Aina, did you join our club because you knew what kind of department we were?"

After drinking a bottle of beer and sobering up a little, Shiro asked curiously. After all, aside from turning into a zombie-like drunkard, she seemed... mostly normal?

"Huh? Isn't this the diving club?"

Aina looked around as she spoke. It was pretty obvious this was a diving club.

Her face lit up with a dreamy expression. "I used to really admire diving~ I always thought it was such a grown-up hobby!"

Seeing her expression, the trio couldn't bear to break the truth to her. They could only nod along.

"Uh-huh."

"That's right."

"It really is admirable."

Aina continued, trying to express her love for diving and integrate herself into the group.

"I also find the colorful fish in the sea really fascinating. But what I look forward to the most is diving in the beautiful ocean together with my college friends. Doesn't that sound like something out of a drama?"

Her cheeks flushed slightly as she imagined herself diving alongside Iori~

Seeing how hopeful Aina was, the trio all turned into deadpan "dot-dot eyes."

"Is that so…"

"Didn't expect you to love diving this much."

"You really can't judge a book by its cover."

The three sighed in unison.

They never would have guessed that this zombie-like girl loved diving so much. Since that was the case, they had to do something!

In the next second—

"In that case, I strongly advise you not to join this club!"

"What awaits you is nothing but hell!"

"It'll paint your pure, youthful canvas with censorship mosaics!"

The trio gravely warned her, their serious expressions making Aina feel like she had been lied to all this time!

"…Wait, isn't this supposed to be the diving club?"

Aina looked around again, feeling suspicious.

Diving equipment, diving gear, enthusiastic seniors, a welcome party for new members…

This was clearly a perfectly normal diving club!

At that moment, Azusa suddenly sneaked up behind the trio, leaning against Shiro's back. Her voice, like that of a devil, whispered into their ears.

"Tokii and Bukki are really looking forward to getting a new recruit~ So if you scare Aina away…"

{{(°△°; )}}!×3

Hearing this, the trio immediately rushed forward, frantically trying to introduce the club to Aina.

"Ahaha, we were just kidding! Of course, this is a diving club!"

"We do diving activities too, hahahaha."

"Come on, come on! I made some special PaB-style oolong tea just for you!"

(′`;)?

Aina looked at the three of them in confusion. Are they acting up again?

Also… Shiro, are you sure that "oolong tea" is actually something humans can drink?!

"Hey! New recruit!"

"Come introduce yourself to everyone!"

Aina, who had been fooling around with the trio, quickly stopped when she heard the seniors calling out to her.

She turned to see that everything had already been prepared. Now, all that was left was for her to introduce herself before the drinking party began.

Looking at the group of muscular seniors before her, Aina shyly introduced herself. "I'm Yoshihara Aina, a first-year student at Oumi Women's University."

"Ohhh!"

The seniors erupted in applause, giving her encouragement.

"I'm really interested in diving, but I have no experience…"

"Ohhh!"

The seniors cheered again—except this time, they were down to just their underwear.

"So I hope to learn from everyone in the future!"

"Ohhh!"

The seniors looked at their new recruit with satisfaction—now completely stripped of their clothing!

Σ(゚Д゚|||)??

"Doesn't this club seem a bit… weird to you guys?"

Aina stared at the trio in shock. Why did the seniors take off their clothes every time she said something? Did her words have some kind of magical power?!

However…

When she turned to look at the trio, she was shocked once again.

(メ`ロ′)/

"When did you three strip?!"

The trio, wearing nothing but underwear, looked at Aina blankly while munching on sashimi.

"Isn't drinking and stripping pretty normal?"

"At the Spring Festival, you saw them like this too, didn't you?"

"That day, you blended in with them just fine."

"…So it turns out that wasn't just because of the festival atmosphere."

Aina covered her face in despair.

She had always thought that everyone got drunk and wild only because it was the Spring Festival… but no, this was their normal state!

What was wrong with the guys in this club?!

"Aina~ What's wrong?"

A gentle voice called out beside her, and Aina immediately felt like she had found her savior!

"Azusa-senpai, what on earth is going on here…"

(′°Δ°`)

Aina looked at Azusa with a blood-drained face.

She had celebrated too soon.

Because compared to those wild seniors, Azusa was no better—she was wearing nothing but a bikini top…

"Never mind, forget it (/.\)"

Looking at the group of nearly naked beasts around her, Aina felt like she had wandered into some strange place.

'No, wait! There's still Kotegawa! She must be a normal person!'

Aina thought of Chisa, the champion of the beauty contest. She had to be a normal, sensible person like herself!

"No, Chisa, I meant organizing a mixer, not sitting on my back."

"Want me to step on you a few times?"

(゚Д゚)

Aina's expression went blank as she watched Chisa sitting on Iori's back, her feet even stepping on his face…

What the hell are you guys doing?! Why is Kotegawa acting like this too? Do normal people treat others like chairs?!

Meanwhile, Shiro was off to the side, snapping photos like crazy.

He had become somewhat famous on the school forum, with every post he made attracting tons of comments and discussions. His popularity made other bloggers green with envy.

Too bad none of them could replicate his posts, because…

Who the hell would stalk Chisa and Iori just to document their "happy life"?!

Thanks to Shiro's posts, Iori had been dominating the top of the school forum for ages. If it weren't for the so-called hypnotic curse, he probably would've been buried alive by now!

"You three, what are you doing?"

A gentle voice drew Aina's attention. She turned to see a woman with the grace of a Yamato Nadeshiko gently pulling Chisa and Iori apart.

She even scolded Shiro, poking his forehead and taking away his camera as punishment.

"A normal person!!!"

Aina grabbed Nanaka's hands in excitement.

After so long, she had finally found a normal person in this club! It was truly a miracle! (T▽T)

But Nanaka was confused. Was Aina just happy about joining the club?

Normally, she'd be happy to chat with a new member, but right now…

She was eager to check out Shiro's camera. Rumor had it there were tons of photos of little Chisa inside!

It was just a shame most of them were with Iori… She'd have to edit him out.

"Don't ask anything!"

"You didn't see anything, got it?"

"(*?????) Nanaka-nee, my Nanaka-nee…"

Shiro wore a mournful expression. The image of Nanaka, who could have been the perfect wife, was shattered!

But… this wasn't bad either?

This siscon trait was also kind of a charm point?

Speaking of which, if Iori and Chisa actually got together, wouldn't that mean he could bring Nanaka-nee home too? That way, Nanaka-nee and Chisa wouldn't have to be separated!

Shiro glanced at the idiot beside him. At this moment, Kitahara was scratching his butt…

(=ω=;)

Never mind. There's no way this idiot would get past Nanaka-nee's approval.

On the other hand, Aina took one look at the trio's expressions and instantly understood—she gave up.

As expected, no matter how she looked at it, this club didn't seem to have a single normal person!

She turned around and once again looked at her surroundings.

A dive shop, just like before. Then, naked men, beer, hard liquor, and wild beasts going crazy…

PaB had no normal people besides herself!

On the sofa—

Azusa watched the newcomers fooling around with a beaming smile. At this rate, PaB now had a scumbag, an idiot, an otaku, a natural airhead, and a ghoul… a total of five people!

PaB's future was bright!

.....................…..

The welcome party was in full swing, with those beasts wildly chugging hard liquor. There weren't even three pairs of underwear among the entire group.

Aina covered her mouth in distress as she watched the scene, she had just been listening to the older sister talk about diving precautions. When she heard that they had to wear swimsuits, she felt a little shy. After all, as a normal girl, wearing a swimsuit naturally made her self-conscious.

She searched the area, hoping to find someone who shared her sentiment, but… looking around, there wasn't a single normal person here!

Damn it, she had to correct the improper atmosphere of this club no matter what!

Meanwhile, Kotobuki, watching the trio drinking, suddenly thought of something and said seriously,

"Speaking of which, with more and more newcomers joining, it's about time you all started your diving license training!"

Hearing the senior's words, the three of them froze for a moment before quickly composing themselves, as if they had just realized something.

"So, that time has come…"

"Haha, I didn't expect it so soon."

"A license, huh…"

The trio exchanged glances and then confidently responded to their two seniors.

"It must be a quick-change license!"

"It's definitely a quick-drinking license!"

"Hmph, foolish mortals, you're all wrong. It has to be a strip rock-paper-scissors license!"

Watching the three of them speak with such certainty, Tokita couldn't help but feel a tinge of guilt.

"Is it our fault that they think this way?"

"Ah, it's about half and half," Kotobuki replied.

Hearing that, Tokita's guilt instantly vanished. So it wasn't entirely their fault! Half of it was because of those three themselves.

"Well then, let me ask—have you all read this textbook?"

Saying that, Tokita pulled out a diving manual.

"Of course." (Never read it.)

"No need for you to ask." (Never even opened it.)

"This book is great." (Used it to press down instant noodles.)

Seeing their calm expressions, Tokita was absolutely certain—none of them had read the book!

"Well, in that case, let's have a test!"

Kotobuki chimed in. A test was the best way to assess their learning.

Since all three were beginners, the two seniors decided on a topic suitable for them—hand signals!

Hand signals were an essential part of diving communication.

"From now on, I'll make a few gestures, and you guys have to guess their meanings," Tokita explained.

Hearing this, the trio nonchalantly agreed.

Hand signals? That's easy.

Shiro didn't even take it seriously. Not to mention that he knew a bit of sign language, interpreting images and writing corresponding meanings was practically in his DNA!

First up—Iori!

Tokita showed him three hand signals.

The first gesture: Tokita gave a thumbs-down, which in diving meant "descend now."

The second gesture: Tokita pointed at himself, which in diving meant "look here."

The third gesture: Tokita spread both hands in front of his chest, which in diving meant "stop."

These three were deliberately chosen to be easy since the seniors knew these three hadn't read the book.

However, in Iori's eyes…

"I'm taking you down here!"

"I'll handle this!"

"This is the end for you!"

"So, Iori, what's your answer?" Kotobuki asked. Even someone who hadn't read the book should be able to guess this, right?

"Before my opponent takes me out, I'll take them out with a speargun!"

Iori responded seriously, though his answer was completely absurd…

Hearing his response, the two seniors silently took a step back. "Better be careful using hand signals in front of Iori…"

"…Also, why would you bring a speargun to go diving?"

Kitahara Iori—FAILED! Has a tendency to shoot his teammates!

With Iori marked as unqualified, it was now Kohei's turn. He was determined to show the difference in intelligence between himself and Iori!

Tokita once again posed the questions.

The first gesture: Tokita extended his right arm and waved it, similar to hailing a taxi. In diving, this meant "there's a problem."

"Yoo-hoo!"

The second gesture: Tokita slid his hand across his neck, which in diving meant "I'm running out of air."

"Come on, come on~"

The third gesture: Tokita gave a thumbs-up, which in diving meant "ascend."

"Yeah? Yeah?"

"I will gaze at him with gentle eyes!"

Before the seniors could respond, Kohei immediately blurted out his answer, looking very satisfied with himself.

"…You're just going to watch your teammate die?"

"What a… unique perspective."

Imamura Kohei—FAILED! Has a tendency to watch teammates die slowly!

The two seniors gave up. No matter how simple the gestures were, these three would surely interpret them completely differently.

"Hmph! The protagonist always goes last!"

Shiro walked up with a smug look, having watched the entire process unfold. He mockingly glanced at the other two.

His two companions clearly still had primitive intelligence.

"Watch closely and learn! This is the difference between you and a genius!"

Iori and Kohei, seeing his arrogant expression, were already thinking about how to mock him once he failed.

"…So he's not even trying to hide the fact that he didn't read the book."

=????(??? ????)

Shiro's face stiffened for a moment. Why did things suddenly seem different when it was his turn…?

Fortunately, the seniors didn't say anything. They hadn't had any expectations from the start.

The third challenger, Kamishiro Shiro, enters the trial!

The first gesture: Tokita crossed his fists in front of his chest in a defensive stance. In diving, this meant "there's danger!"

Seeing this, Shiro hesitated. Why did it feel like his was getting harder…?

This must mean… "I challenge you to a duel!"

The second gesture: Tokita pointed at himself, then at Shiro, then to the side. In diving, this meant "follow me."

Seeing this, Shiro remained confused, but he decided to connect it with the first gesture!

"Come with me! Let's duel over there!"

The third gesture: Tokita held up three fingers, then placed his other open palm over them. In diving, this meant "three-minute safety stop."

"I'll finish you in three moves!"

Shiro was certain! The three signals clearly formed a coherent sequence!

"So, what's your answer, Shiro?"

"I'd turn around and swim in the opposite direction. I'm really fast at swimming!"

"..."

Seeing Shiro's smug face, the two seniors sighed in exasperation.

These three truly had the wildest imaginations. Running away to danger… how bold.

Kamishiro Shiro—FAILED! Has a tendency for self-destructive behavior!

.....................…..

After their failed challenge, the trio looked dejected as they returned to their books to study. Though… the book was quite interesting, attending the banquet was still way more fun!

Shiro stared at the dazzling array of hand gestures in the book, feeling like he was about to fall asleep.

Suddenly, he felt a huge softness press against his back!

Azusa had leaned her entire body against Shiro, her alluring arms gently hooking around his neck.

"Sleepy?"

The scent of wisteria flowers mixed with a faint trace of alcohol, making the already drowsy Shiro completely lose focus.

"Mm..."

Shiro slumped onto the table. He just wanted to sleep now. (.-ω-)zzz

Poke, poke~

"Shiro~ Which girl were you out playing with yesterday~?"

"(.-ω-)zzz It was Kiyoko."

Hearing this, Azusa's eyes lit up! She knew this Kiyoko—Shiro had mentioned her before, and she had even met her.

A very cute girl, exactly her type. She never expected Shiro to be with her yesterday. Then… (??ω??)

Azusa's lips curled into a mischievous smile. "So, what did you two do last night~?"

"Do? Of course, we played…"

(??.??‵)

"Played what?"

"Played bab—"

"Azusa! Bad news!"

Just as Shiro was about to continue, Iori's voice startled him awake!

Shiro sat up in a daze, looking around blankly. He remembered falling asleep in the wisteria grove. But why was there a pig squealing in the wisteria grove?

"Sigh..."

Azusa sighed with a disappointed expression. Damn it, she was just about to enjoy some fun gossip, and Iori had to ruin it!

But… seeing how panicked Iori looked, could this be another entertaining situation?!

She remained lazily draped over Shiro, watching Iori rush over in a flurry.

"Azusa! It's an emergency! Nanaka seems to have found out about me and Chisa! Can you help me think of a solution?!"

Iori was too desperate to be jealous of Shiro right now. He just wanted to stay alive!

Just now, Nanaka had suddenly appeared beside him, patted his shoulder, and mentioned the matter. He had nearly lost his soul in terror!

And those three bastards, he had clearly signaled for help with the "trouble detected" gesture! Why didn't any of them come to his rescue?!

(=?▽?=)?!

Azusa's eyes sparkled. Sure enough, Iori's situation was just as interesting!

She immediately patted her chest and promised, "Okay, no problem! Leave it to me!"

"Whew..."

Iori breathed a sigh of relief. Thank goodness, Azusa was definitely someone he could rely on!

(;?_?)

"Are you sure you don't want to ask what she's planning to say?"

Shiro, acting as a human pillow, kindly reminded him. He felt that if Azusa really explained things, Iori might have to find a new place to live.

!!!

Shiro's words yanked Iori back from heaven to hell. He turned to Azusa with desperate eyes. "Can you tell me exactly what you're going to say to Nana?"

"Of course! I'll tell her who you really like!"

(Kohei: (/?\))

Σ(?д?|||)??!!!

Demon! This woman was definitely a demon sent straight from hell!

Smack!

Iori grabbed Azusa's wrist and, noticing Nana's gaze shifting toward them, quickly shouted, "Ahaha! The person I love the most is Chisa!"

Hearing this, Nanaka's face was completely hidden in shadow.

Shiro silently turned away. This idiot really had a talent for digging his own grave.

"Iorikun~"

Sure enough, in the next second, Nanaka floated over to Iori and grabbed his shoulders.

Iori frantically signaled to his friends with a "come save me" gesture.

The two seniors watching couldn't help but comment, "Iori is learning more and more through practical experience."

"Kohei, Shiro, do you want to try learning this way too?"

"…"

Kohei and Shiro silently took a step away from their seniors. What gave them the illusion that this method was an effective way to learn?

As for Iori?

Sorry, but his survival was another matter entirely.

Shiro pulled out his beloved camera, ready to capture Kitahara's last moments alive.

However…

"That's a relief!"

The situation took a completely unexpected turn. Not only did Nanaka not scold Iori, but she even looked relieved.

Click!

Shiro's high-end camera lens cracked in shock.

This wasn't right! Based on the script, shouldn't Nanaka have annihilated Kitahara by now?! Why did she look relieved instead?!

Could it be… Kitahara really knew how to use hypnosis after all?!

Shiro wasn't the only one dumbfounded. Even Iori, the person involved, was utterly confused.

He had actually survived?

"They get along so well, just like a couple~"

Nanaka's next words cleared up their confusion. She had misunderstood their relationship as merely having a close bond.

This woman was definitely in denial. (;?_?)

Shiro was all too familiar with this reaction. Back in high school, when a girl wanted to go public with their relationship, he had the same reaction.

Azusa gave Nanaka a teasing look. She had obviously seen through her denial, but surprisingly, this time, Nanaka was at least partially right.

They weren't actually dating. However… if you looked at it from an SM relationship perspective, their dynamic was quite something.

"Hey, what if things aren't as you think and they really are dating? What would you do?"

"Azusa!!!"

Demon! She was definitely Satan's most trusted assistant from hell!

Iori screamed internally as he watched Azusa whispering into Nanaka's ear. This was pushing him straight into the fire pit!

"Hmm—"

Nanaka smiled, but in her eyes, something shifted. She was clearly contemplating deeply.

"Ahaha, I really don't know~"

"Y-Yeah! Azusa, what kind of weird question is that…"

Iori laughed awkwardly, finally feeling like he had dodged the danger.

"No, no, I didn't mean that. What I meant was… I have no idea what I would do."

Nanaka's gaze instantly changed. Her eyes became eerily calm, and Iori even detected an air of indifference toward life itself.

!!!

No way. He absolutely could not let Nanaka find out. If she did, he was dead for sure!

Iori stiffly turned his head, trying his best to maintain a natural expression.

And then…
