Chapter 234 - Chapter 235: Dreaming of Becoming Hokage? You?

After finishing his work, Akaba began pondering the Flying Thunder God Technique.

Ever since Kakashi Gaiden came out a few days ago, the Flying Thunder God Technique had already appeared on his Exchange List.

Mastering a Space-Time Ninjutsu was no less difficult than developing a Kekkei Genkai. As an S-rank Space-Time technique, the Flying Thunder God required quite a substantial number of Points—

a full 5,000 Points.

Of course,

he'd actually had enough Points already two days ago. But Akaba was still trying to figure out how to lower its cost, so he hadn't directly exchanged for it yet.

Carefully considering everything, Akaba decided he should go talk with The Third about this.

The Flying Thunder God Technique was recorded in the Scroll of Seals—Minato Namikaze had learned it precisely through a sealing scroll. This proved that The Third wasn't overly sensitive about this jutsu.

Therefore, he decided to try convincing The Third to let him access the Flying Thunder God Technique.

If he could access the Scroll of Seals, not only would the Point cost decrease, but also he'd be able to openly use the technique. Otherwise, he would have to claim he developed it himself.

Although he did possess some notes from The Second, such an excuse still sounded unconvincing.

Arriving at the Hokage Tower, he ran straight into Homura Mitokado. Just as he was about to greet him, Homura snorted coldly and walked past him toward the stairs.

"What the heck!"

Akaba turned around and glanced at the guy, silently memorizing this moment.

In the manga, this old man never amounted to much—and now he was acting cold without any obvious reason.

Actually, upon reflection, maybe it wasn't entirely unexplained.

Few people knew how Danzo had humiliated Homura, but Homura going to see Koharu Utatane and coming back humiliated had been witnessed by many Medical Ninjas.

Akaba held considerable status among medical staff, so he naturally learned of this incident.

"Petty old man—I'll make sure you pay for this."

Muttering under his breath, he finally climbed upstairs and reached The Third's office door.

The door wasn't closed; from outside he could clearly see The Third sitting there, puffing on his pipe with a distant look in his eyes. Looking further into the room, Akaba guessed that Homura must've just argued with The Third.

Seeing Akaba, The Third grumbled, "Come in."

Akaba entered and quietly shut the door behind him. Before he could even speak, The Third tapped his desk with the pipe stem and stared at him with an unfriendly expression, making him momentarily unsure where to start.

"Every damn time you come here, nothing good ever comes of it. So what do you want this time?"

"Heh, Lord Hokage, I've earned some credit around the village lately, and I've handed over quite a few techniques too. Could I possibly request one jutsu from the Scroll of Seals?"

Akaba rubbed his hands together nervously.

His movements came off as nervous. Combined with his sensitive request, The Third instinctively sat up straighter. He replied gravely, "You should know there are certain techniques I will absolutely never release."

"I want to see the Flying Thunder God Technique."

Akaba got straight to the point.

The Flying Thunder God Technique probably wouldn't fall within The Third's strictest prohibited category.

Indeed.

After hearing this, The Third's expression softened slightly, and his posture became less rigid. Speaking as a senior figure, he cautioned, "Flying Thunder God is a Space-Time Ninjutsu. Practicing such a technique is extremely dangerous. I hope you can be more careful with your decision."

The most common form of Space-Time Ninjutsu is the Summoning Technique.

However, the Summoning Technique is relatively safe—in principle—as long as a contract has been signed.

Without a formal contract, however, the dangers involved are just as severe.

Take someone like Jiraiya, for example—without a fixed summoning contract, he somehow survived using the technique and even "coincidentally" arrived at Mount Myoboku. The odds of that happening are infinitesimally small.

"Please believe me, I won't take my own life lightly."

Akaba said seriously.

Yet as soon as those words came out, The Third couldn't help but burst into laughter. He coughed violently a few times, trying to regain his composure, but still found himself unable to stop chuckling.

He practically clung to his life with extreme care.

Reflecting on it, The Third thought his own concern was rather amusing. Given Akaba's nature, if a technique were truly life-threatening, he'd likely abandon it before anyone else even had the chance to worry about him.

"You're not going to keep laughing forever, are you? Just give me a straight answer—yes or no?"

Akaba looked confused.

He had spoken sincerely—I was being serious—is it really *that* hilarious?

"Cough... Sorry, I suppose my concern was unnecessary after all."

The Third pulled out a piece of paper from below and began scribbling away quickly, without even needing to retrieve the Scroll of Seals.

In a matter of seconds, he had written down the basic principles of Flying Thunder God and some foundational elements of its seals.

What did that mean?

A thought flashed through Akaba's mind immediately—this old bastard knows what the Flying Thunder God is, he just couldn't master it himself.

He didn't dare say it aloud, though. Instead, he accepted the paper and began reading carefully.

The Third continued, "This is the fundamental theory and basic sealing method of the Flying Thunder God Technique. As for the specific hand seals, my teacher never passed them down, so you'll have to explore and develop them yourself."

"No problem. Thank you, sir."

Akaba took one glance at it, then happily tucked it into his robe before preparing to leave.

"Wait a second—you think you can just take something and walk away?"

The Third rapped the table lightly. "I heard you fought against Sakumo and defeated him with just one punch?"

"What? Who spread such an exaggerated story? I used every trick in the book just to beat him!"

Akaba corrected him seriously.

"I don't care whether it was one punch or every trick you've got, but that nerve-disturbing jutsu and the rapid recovery jutsu you used have great potential for aiding our medical system."

"No problem. Ask Tsunade about it—you can learn everything from her. I've already taught it all to her."

Akaba smiled, waved goodbye, and left immediately.

The Third paused, then took a puff from his pipe, feeling somewhat wistful.

This kid really was a sly one.

But he also possessed extraordinary talent. Spitting out new jutsu like popcorn—he might be rivaled only by the brilliant Second.

Although he hadn't seen the Scroll of Seals, he had achieved his goal and acquired the Flying Thunder God.

Back at the manga shop, Akaba quickly opened the System Panel.

The price had dropped by 200 points.

That wasn't surprising, though—the things The Third gave him weren't particularly valuable. As he himself admitted, they were truly just the basics, nothing more.

As for the actual seal techniques...

What kind of seal technique was this?!

If he had to figure it out on his own, he'd probably be dead before even getting close to mastering the Flying Thunder God.

"Minato Namikaze really is a genius."

Akaba heaved a soft sigh of admiration.

No doubt about it—he hadn't hesitated to spend those points.

After spending 4,800 points, he had only around 2,000 left on his System panel.

But the Flying Thunder God Technique was worth every point. Once acquired through redemption, he could practically use it right away.

The technique was extremely complex; if not for the System's ability to directly teach it, he doubted he'd ever master it even with detailed analysis.

He had the text-based version instead of the illustrated one—that was clearly how Minato did it.

Of course,

Akaba didn't care either way—black cat or white cat, any cat that catches mice is a good cat.

Learning and using a technique like that all in one day sounded totally outrageous, so even though he now mastered the Flying Thunder God, he didn't immediately go out to show off. Instead of showing off, he simply walked home and went to work as usual.

He then spent eight points to enhance his physical strength, exhausting all of his remaining points.

"These past few days, neither Naruto nor One Piece have updated. The point accumulation has slowed significantly. I hope Kakuzu's side delivers better results."

Akaba lightly sighed.

To ease pressure on Kakuzu's side, he specifically instructed Izumi Yamano to release the One Piece manga first in the Land of River, limiting the circulation in Konoha to a limited stock.

Therefore, the next day, there were only one hundred copies of One Piece and three hundred copies of Naruto available in Konoha.

Few people in Konoha were particularly fond of One Piece—their interest rarely extended beyond amusement. In contrast, Naruto remained vastly popular.

As soon as the new issues arrived, numerous idle ninjas showed up, punctual as if they had been waiting.

As usual, Akaba made a visit to the planning department, saw that Sakuma was working diligently, and then returned to the manga shop to "draw."

The manga shop was packed, forcing Sakuma Yunlang to set up outdoor stalls.

But Yunlang had become smarter now.

Since the road here was quite secluded and vehicles seldom passed by, he occupied half the street, setting up several tables and chairs, even offering "delivery" services.

For just a small runner's fee, customers could get snacks, drinks, or anything else delivered anywhere in Konoha.

The main delivery staff were impoverished genin from the village who often came to rent books. Inspired by this, Yunlang devised this plan.

Therefore, after this update, when Akaba returned to the manga shop, he saw crowds sitting outside, each sipping juice, eating sushi, and holding a manga volume, looking extremely relaxed.

[Tsunade really showed her power back there!]

[Even the cold-blooded villain Orochimaru ran off beaten and humiliated!]

[That tongue slithering around—if anyone else got hit like that, their tongue would probably be severed for good!]

[Is Orochimaru an ordinary person?]

They chatted casually while reading, clearly enjoying themselves.

Yet, seeing the upcoming segment where "Tsunade" recalled "Akaba" and "Nawaki," everyone suddenly squinted doubtfully.

"Do you think when Akaba drew this part, he felt any remorse?"

"If he did feel guilty, he wouldn't have drawn it."

Someone couldn't resist retorting.

Dreaming of being Hokage now, huh?

We never noticed—you actually had such lofty ambitions.

Not only that, but you even got a cheek kiss!

Once they finished reading this chapter, not a single person was touched—just one thought echoed in everyone's mind: How could you be so shameless?

Akaba was so annoyed inside the manga shop he wanted to storm out and punch someone.

What's the big deal about becoming Hokage anyway?

Can't someone just talk big without actually wanting it?

"Then again, if Tsunade-hime really did become Hokage, it'd be kinda interesting to see how she handles it. If she became Hokage, she probably wouldn't gamble away the entire village, right?"

At first someone ahead was hopeful, but they quickly had second thoughts.

Right now, Mito Uzumaki kept her in check. Plus, Tsunade was still fairly young, so she hadn't been hitting up casinos too often. Still, her terrible luck at gambling was legendary across the village—and she was hopelessly hooked.

If she became Hokage, the village might end up paying off her debts. Even though in the manga Tsunade hadn't done anything like that, in real life she probably hadn't endured such anxious experiences either, nor could she necessarily resist temptation.

Forget it, forget it!

Everyone just shook their heads at the thought and flipped on through the manga.

After returning to the village and succeeding as Hokage, Tsunade proceeded to heal Lee. When readers saw that Lee might never become a ninja again, their moods unavoidably turned somber.

Fresh off a war, the village already had plenty of wounded and disabled ninjas.

Luckily, the recently introduced Injured Ninja Employment Plan gave many disabled ninjas a chance to return to active duty.

Interestingly, this plan was also linked to Akaba.

When everyone thought about it carefully, almost every new development or innovation across the village somehow connected back to this guy.

This guy really leaves his mark everywhere!
