The jet glided through the clouds, cruising toward Brazil. Inside, the atmosphere was a mix of excitement, exhaustion, and gentle chaos.
Nora, curled up next to Zayan, had just thrown up—again.
Her once-beautiful outfit was stained, and this marked the fifth time Zayan had helped her change on the flight. He held her patiently, wiping her lips, rubbing her back gently.
"Easy now, love," he whispered, trying to stay calm even though his heart ached watching her like this.
"You've changed me five times already," Nora mumbled sleepily.
Zayan kissed her forehead. "And I'll change you fifty more if I have to."
Two hours later, the jet touched down in Brazil.
The Black Scar Lords, along with Rose, had landed earlier and were already waiting for the family.
As the jet doors opened, a warm breeze swept in.
Zayan helped Nora down the stairs, one step at a time. "Slowly now, love," he said, holding her hand tightly.
She looked up at him and smiled weakly. "Z…"
"Hi guys!" Melanie waved from the group waiting below.
"Hey!" the family responded.
Kian and Eryx approached and scooped up Seraphina.
"Our dear Lilly shot someone," Kian said proudly. "We're so proud of you. Maybe one day, you'll be a Black Scar Lord. We'll personally train you."
Seraphina giggled and clapped, snuggling into Eryx's shoulder.
Lysander, in Neal's arms, yawned and reached toward baby Aaron in Darba's arms. He gently patted the baby to sleep, completely unaware of the chaos around him.
Meanwhile, Nora had drifted off again. She held Zayan tightly, her head resting on his chest as he whispered quietly to her, brushing her hair from her face.
They arrived at Rhea's family home in Brazil, where her mother, Kate, and her two brothers waited at the gate.
As the convoy of cars rolled in, Kate turned to Rhea.
"Where is Nora?" she asked, her eyes filled with concern.
Rhea nodded toward the blue Range Rover.
Zayan stepped out first, steadying Nora as she struggled to stand. Her steps were weak, and her grip on Zayan's arm never loosened.
"Nora, dear!" Kate called out, rushing to her. She hugged her tightly. "It's so good to see you again, love."
Nora blinked slowly, confused. "W… who are you?"
Kate froze. Her arms dropped.
"What do you mean 'who am I'? It's me—Kate Daniel. We used to stay in London with Nana. Don't you remember? And how is Nana?"
Zayan stepped in quickly, gently covering Nora's ears. "Kate," he said softly but firmly, "Nana died in the orphanage fire. I rebuilt it. Nora had an accident. She doesn't remember her past. Her memory is weak… She's the mother of my twins, and she's pregnant again. Please… she's extremely fragile. I really don't want anyone stressing my wife."
Kate's hand flew to her chest. "Lilly… died in the fire?"
Zayan nodded slowly. "She did. But Nora named our daughter Seraphina, and she calls her Lilly because she reminds her of Nana."
Nora suddenly gasped and pointed at the sky. "Z! Z! Look! Birds—lots of them!" she clapped, giggling, rubbing her tummy. "Woah!!"
Kate looked at her, heartbroken by how much her sweet, sharp Nora had changed.
Inside the house, Nora lay curled on the couch, resting. Then she opened her eyes and said brightly, "Z… I want blueberry rice and vanilla juice."
Everyone paused.
"Sorry… did you just say blueberry rice?" Atreus blinked.
"Yes," Nora said proudly.
Asher burst into laughter. "Remember when she once asked for cinnamon roll juice?"
Zayan laughed too, but quickly stopped when he saw Nora frown.
"What's funny?" she asked—this time in her real, sharp voice.
"Nothing…" Asher said quickly. "Nothing at all."
Silence filled the room.
Rhea's brothers—Axel and Troy—walked over to Nora.
"Hey, remember us?" Axel asked. "We were your seniors in school."
Nora stared at them blankly. "Sorry… Nora doesn't remember anything. Or anyone."
"Seriously?" Troy asked, stunned.
She nodded, sincere and calm.
Later, Zayan made her dirty rice and brought coconut water to settle her stomach. She kissed his cheek gratefully.
The next morning, Maia, Rhea, Rose, Azara, Sachi, Valencia, Xandria, and Dabria took Nora to the hospital for her ultrasound. Security guards followed closely.
The twins stayed back, sleeping peacefully in Rhea's house.
Rose held Nora's hand as she sat on the hospital bed.
"Hello, Mrs. Kai," the doctor said, walking in. "I'm Dr. Lola. Ready?"
Nora nodded and lay back, staring at the ceiling.
The probe glided across her belly, and the familiar sound of a heartbeat filled the room.
The girls leaned in.
"You're four months along," Dr. Lola said. "It's July… and…"
She paused, smiling at the screen.
"It's a healthy baby boy."
The girls erupted in cheers.
Nora's eyes filled with tears. "Doctor… is the baby healthy?"
"Yes," Dr. Lola nodded. "Very healthy. Very strong."
Nora let out a deep breath of relief. She smiled.
At Rhea's company, Zayan was in a meeting with Cyrus, Rhea's third brother. They reviewed business projections and closed a massive deal.
"Zayan, your share is £50 million," Cyrus said. "Our company will hold the other fifty percent."
Rhea walked in, handing Zayan the statement. "A baby boy, huh?" she smiled.
Zayan grinned. "Thank you."
Later, at the house, Nora sat by the window, a notepad in her lap.
"Roy? No, no. Blaze? Nah. Rafael?" She groaned and crumpled the paper.
Then she gasped. "WAIT!"
She clapped like a child. "Z will name the baby!! Yes! And if he doesn't, Nora will use an umbrella on him."
Zayan stepped in, smirking. "Why do you want to use an umbrella on me, love?"
She giggled. "Because Nora wants you to choose the baby's name."
He leaned in and kissed her nose. "I will, baby. I promise."
"Z… Nora wants a home… de… de…" she paused, searching.
"Delivering?" Cyrus offered gently.
"Yes! That one!" Nora said proudly.
After shopping for baby things, new clothes for the twins, and organizing the nursery in Rhea's home, Zayan and Nora finally sat down together that evening.
No chaos. No screaming. Just peace.
And the warmth of a growing family.
