Chapter 92 – Choice!
Mo Bosang didn't know much about the politics or hidden intricacies of the world, nor did he care to.
All he knew was that Jiang Zhe had immense talent and a respectful attitude. He sincerely wanted to teach him well.
Talent isn't necessarily innate; even if it stems from a stroke of fortune, it's still real talent.
Given Jiang Zhe's current level of talent, as long as he doesn't fall along the way, he's at least guaranteed to become a Time Sovereign. And if luck favors him, he might even reach the upper echelons of the race—just like a certain senior master once did.
If Jiang Zhe truly succeeds, Mo Bosang will undoubtedly receive a share of the credit—just the thought of it fills him with anticipation. The recognition and rewards would be tremendous.
After sending Jiang Zhe a list of suitable Chaos Tablets to choose from, Mo Bosang left the silver palace and returned to his manor in the Primal Zone.
Even though Jiang Zhe had already passed the third level of the Sky Bridge and gained a new teacher, Mo Bosang intended to continue teaching him the Yunting Codex until he fully grasped the fusion techniques of the thunder and time origin laws.
Once Mo Bosang left, the female World Lord switched her consciousness into her avatar.
In a majestic palace, a massive beast—hundreds of kilometers tall—sat silently. Its gaze swept across the hall, finally settling on a small, seemingly insignificant figure on the floor.
Feeling the beast's gaze, the silver-robed clone awoke from deep contemplation and looked up.
"Boss, do you need something?" he asked.
The smoky-voiced woman asked, "You've been trying to fully comprehend the origin laws since the beginning, haven't you?"
Amid swirling chaos, the hulking figure of the Qiuhe Beast emerged. It scratched its head with a short forepaw, looking adorably silly.
"Boss, my foundation is already weak. Even comprehending 60% of the laws only makes me average among World Lords. I don't want to embarrass the Starry Sky Beasts—especially not the Qiuhe line. That's why I'm determined to master every basic origin law and become one of the elite World Lords."
"Heh. As you wish," the smoky voice chuckled softly. "How's your progress?"
"Progress? Pretty decent, I'd say. I've mastered 40 types of Earth origin law patterns and 13 of the Space origin law."
"Hmm, not bad. Keep going."
With that, the hulking Shattering Beast closed its eyes, ignoring the silver-robed clone.
Chaos swirled once more, and the clone's body reappeared, standing before two massive slabs inscribed with ancient secrets, continuing his diligent study.
Compared to his true self, the clone had far fewer resources—no fancy aids or supplemental materials—making his comprehension process much tougher.
Back in Chaos City – City Lord's Mansion
Jiang Zhe received Mo Bosang's email, relieved to see that it didn't instruct him to choose any specific Chaos Tablet.
Even better, the options recommended in the email aligned perfectly with what Jiang Zhe had in mind.
First up was the Nine Realms Chaos Tablet, which focused on the Space origin law. The first diagram, "Raindrop," held no secrets for him. His understanding of the second, "Fine Rain," was already quite advanced.
Though the Nine Realms Tablet appeared on his teacher's list, Jiang Zhe had no intention of choosing it.
Why? Because Space origin laws were being handled by his silver-robed clone—there was no need to divide his focus.
Next, he looked at the Darkness Chaos Tablet.
The artwork on this tablet had a strange, enchanting effect. It made Jiang Zhe feel incredibly lethargic, his body unwilling to move. Odd black lights flickered before his eyes, pulling him into a drowsy state.
He shook himself awake and concluded:
—This tablet starts with the Time origin law, eventually blending in Light origin law elements. It's a path suited for illusionists.
Clearly, this wasn't the right choice either.
Choosing the Darkness Tablet made even less sense than choosing the Nine Realms Tablet.
Finally, Jiang Zhe found the Cosmos Chaos Tablet. Boran had arrived there earlier and had been examining it for some time.
Staring at the tablet's etched images, Jiang Zhe's interest was piqued, and a curious smile appeared on his face.
Half an hour later, a black-robed envoy summoned everyone back to the corridor to register their Chaos Tablet choices.
"I choose the Mother Ancestor Chaos Tablet!"
"I choose the Heaven Ruins Chaos Tablet!"
...
"I choose the Cosmos Chaos Tablet!" Jiang Zhe declared.
The envoy gave him a second glance. The Cosmos Tablet was well-known for its difficulty.
"I choose the Cosmos Chaos Tablet too!" Boran said from behind, his gaze burning with fighting spirit as he stared at Jiang Zhe's back.
'This will be a long battle. I won't always be beneath you,' he vowed silently, gripping his blood-red sword.
...
"I choose the Nine Realms Chaos Tablet," declared Luo Feng, determined. He abandoned the familiar path of Metal laws and embraced the higher calling of Space origin law.
After everyone made their choices, the black-robed envoy led them to a massive, empty training arena spanning tens of kilometers.
Each person was assigned to a private chamber where they could study their selected Chaos Tablet.
The Cosmos Chaos Tablet was currently unoccupied.
Jiang Zhe greeted Luo Feng before heading off with Boran. Together, they became streaks of light entering a 30-meter-high entrance on the left side of the arena.
This led to a spacious hallway lined with massive bronze doors—160 meters wide and 120 meters high. Each door bore ancient inscriptions.
At last, Jiang Zhe and Boran stopped at a door marked "Cosmos." They greeted the kindly-looking three-eyed elder, Kandri, then entered the chamber.
Inside stood the Cosmos Chaos Tablet, over 100 meters tall and nearly as wide. Ten etched diagrams adorned its surface, with "Cosmos" inscribed in the universal script on the side.
Each image matched what they'd seen outside but now radiated a profound energy.
The first three diagrams resembled "Yin-Yang" patterns—interlocking black and white energies in constant pursuit.
The first diagram had 18 strokes: 9 on the left, 9 on the right.
The second had 72: 36 on each side.
The third had 216: 108 each side, forming a more complex Yin-Yang swirl.
From various perspectives, Jiang Zhe noticed fascinating patterns:
View it from a Time-based angle, and Time laws seemed to drive the rotation.
View it from a Space-based angle, and Space laws seemed to be the engine.
If Time and Space were in balance, the rotation accelerated—eventually forming a vortex capable of devouring everything.
The fourth diagram transformed the 216 lines into planets scattered throughout a cosmic landscape.
Seemingly random, yet some planetary arrangements unleashed stunning effects.
From here, the difficulty skyrocketed.
Different arrangements reflected either Time or Space law structures—or hybrid combinations.
The fifth diagram introduced two massive suns, with planets orbiting them—bringing clarity and order.
The sixth diagram had the suns collide, exploding into supernovas and spewing countless particles.
The seventh diagram unveiled a massive vortex—clearly symbolic of complete Time/Space mastery.
The eighth diagram showed the vortex swallowing entire galaxies.
The ninth diagram revealed a singularity forming within the vortex.
The tenth diagram was no longer metaphorical—it depicted a true black hole, absorbing everything, steeped in mystery.
Jiang Zhe couldn't understand the later diagrams yet, but he didn't mind.
After all, he didn't plan to follow the standard Chaos Tablet path to the end.
Besides potentially switching to the Beast God path or understanding the fusion law's mysteries, he still had the Thunder God Codex, which surpassed even the City Lord's best Chaos Tablets.
Clearing his mind, Jiang Zhe began with the first diagram.
Yes, he had technically "mastered" nine basic Time/Space laws—but without understanding how they fit into a holistic system, that mastery was incomplete.
He fully immersed his consciousness in the diagram's mysteries.
His silver-robed clone stopped reading dry texts. One part of his mind stayed in the Universe Source Realm offering "wife" data (humorously referring to companionship or aids), while the other linked with Jiang Zhe to study the Space side of the Cosmos Tablet.
Inside the core of his body-world, the Primal Umbrella hung above an ancient tree.
Within the umbrella's internal space, a 110,000-kilometer-wide star radiated light.
This "light" subtly influenced time and space—similar to the legendary World Tree's command over spacetime.
With his innate affinity for Time and Space laws, the Candlelight Avatar pursued the orthodox path of dual-comprehension via the Cosmos Chaos Tablet.
Seven Days Later
Boom!
The bronze door swung open, and Kandri called them out of their meditative state.
As Jiang Zhe exited the chamber, he looked back at the tablet, still reluctant to leave.
Boran wore the same expression.
After Kandri reminded them to pick a residence and log into the Virtual Universe to enter the Sky Bridge, the two finally left the City Lord's mansion.
At the gate, they exchanged good wishes and parted ways.
During those seven days, Mo Bosang had sent another email.
"I heard you picked the Cosmos Chaos Tablet. I had expected you'd focus on Time laws with Space as a complement. So, I've prepared two residences suited for Time Law cultivation."
Residence No. 0150109473 – Once home to Shadow Monarch, part of the Darkness Lineage. Feel free to take it—I've made arrangements.
Residence No. 0231267442 – Previously used by Lord Yunting, author of the Yunting Codex. Also part of the Darkness Lineage. It's yours if you want it.
"If you prefer a residence aligned with the Cosmos Lineage, the following four—starting with No. 0056786243—are ideal. Choose whichever suits you."
Jiang Zhe was touched.
Mo Bosang might appear aloof and androgynous, but he was truly a dedicated teacher—taking care of even small details like housing.
It also proved that his background was formidable.
A near-Sealed King-level undying being who could coordinate directly with entire lineages to assign private quarters? That was no small feat.
In the end, Jiang Zhe chose a Cosmos Lineage residence since both he and his silver-robed clone could benefit from the carvings on the rooftop.
With his new home decided, he smiled.
"Time to enter the Virtual Universe. I've heard so much about the Sky Bridge—it's finally my turn."
