The envelope Raymond held seemed to pulse with power. Everyone's eyes locked onto it, and the tension in the hospital room thickened.
"Give me that," I said, reaching for the envelope.
Raymond handed it over without hesitation. I tore it open, my heart racing as I pulled out the official medical report. The results were clear: DNA test conclusive. The fetal tissue sample showed no genetic match to Liam Ricardo.
Just as I'd known all along. There had never been Liam's baby.
"What does it say?" Liam demanded, his voice tight.
