Ezra's POV
I slowly took a step forward and stood near the bed. My hands were joined behind my back, and my eyes were fixed on Uncle with curiosity.
"What do you want to tell me, Uncle?" I asked.
"Actually, Ezra… I have a hunch that the man you've seen all these years might not be your real father at all."
My eyes widened at Uncle's words. All these years? What did that even mean?
"Uncle, I can't understand what you're talking about," I said, frowning.
He glanced at Mom after hearing me, then began to speak.
"When your parents were coming back after giving you baptism, their carriage fell from a cliff. At that time, your father went missing for a few days. Your mother had told you this story before, right?"
I nodded. Yes, she had told me. But when she said it, I hadn't found anything suspicious at all.
Uncle continued, "When your father returned after those days… it wasn't your father anymore. Someone else had come back—someone who only looked like your father."
