Ezra's POV
"You don't have to lie to me, Ezra. I'm your uncle," Uncle said.
I was about to answer, but then I froze. Suddenly, I heard a voice.
"Why aren't you doing your work carefully, Ezra? Say you and that dragon, Calix, are lovers. Did you forget the work I gave you?"
The voice echoed in my ears, and I was shocked—because everyone else must have heard it too. But they were all talking casually, like nothing had happened. Did they really not hear it? Was it just me?
My gaze fell on Calix, and by chance, he looked at me too. His eyes silently asked me what was wrong.
I wanted to tell him about the voice, but my body refused to move the way I wanted. I could see everyone in front of me, but it felt like I was dreaming.
"Uncle… actually, Calix and I like each other."
What the hell did I just say? No! I didn't want to say that! But the words slipped from my mouth on their own. What was happening to me?
