Ezra's POV
"No. Don't give Calix any chance. Did you forget he already had a lover—one who has now been reborn?"
Yes, Vlad is right. How can Calix come after me, leaving his lover behind—the one he waited for over centuries? It doesn't make any sense to me.
"Calix, go back to your lover. There's no need for you to stay here," I said.
Vlad came and stood beside me.
"How can I leave when I love you, Ezra? I don't love Ethan. He was in love with my younger brother. I found out centuries ago... that's why Ethan killed himself," Calix said.
Vlad and I quickly exchanged glances. Of course, Vlad didn't know about Ethan and Calix's younger brother having an affair—but I did.
And wait... that must be the reason why Calix still came after me, even after seeing Ethan return. Because he already knew what had happened.
Then why me? Just because I have the same face? No, I don't think so. My face is a little different. Everything about me is different—I'm sure of it.
