Orion's hand was firm as he signed the restraining order, the weight of finality settling in him. "It's done," he said quietly to his lawyer. "She can't come within five hundred feet of me or my home now."
The lawyer nodded solemnly. "I'll have this filed immediately, Mr Wolfe. You made the right decision."
As the door closed behind his counsel, Orion sank into his chair, rubbing his temple. "It wouldn't have come to this, if you had listened," he murmured to himself.
Across town, Amyra crumpled the court order in her fist, mascara stained tears streaming down her face.
"This doesn't change anything," she hissed, pacing her apartment like a Rylandd animal. "He think he has gotten over me, I'll just have to keep reminding him."
She grabbed a framed photo of Orion, tracing his face with trembling fingers, "You're mine," she whispered, "You will remember it, no matter what it takes."
