"I should go and check up on them." Orion drowned his cup, while pointing upstairs. Thompson nodded swirling his.

As he entered, the silence in the room was deafening. It was dark, it was cold. Calista was now sat at the edge of the bed, eyes red and unfocused as Thalia gently rubbed her back in circles as she dealt with her own tears.

Orion stood in the doorway, his heart aching more at the sight of pure pain. He cleared his throat softly. "I'm going to make some food," he said, his voice gentle. "You both need to eat something."

Calista didn't respond, but Thalia looked up and nodded gratefully. "Thank you, Orion," she whispered.

As he turned to leave, Orion caught sight of Thompson hovering in the hallway with his hands in his pockets. "Come on," he said, gesturing for Thompson to follow him, "You can help me out."

Thompson trailed after him, looking list. "I'm not used to being in the kitchen much," he admitted as they entered.
