Chapter 1 - Prologue

I watch from the endless void between time, my gaze fixed upon them—two souls entwined beyond the constraints of life and death.

Yue and Horace. Reincarnated, reborn, yet drawn to each other like echoes of a love that refuses to fade.

They hold each other now, trembling in an embrace that defies fate itself, their memories restored at last.

It was I who gave Horace the power to time leap.

A simple experiment, a mere test of humanity's greed and desperation for success. How far would a mortal go if given the ability to reshape their destiny?

At first, Horace behaved as expected—chasing perfection, rewriting failure, bending time to his will.

Yet...

What followed...

was something beyond my calculations...

He did not seek power, nor wealth. He did not twist fate for his own gain. Instead, he devoted every leap, every second, to a singular purpose: Yue. Again and again, even when the path led only to suffering, he chose love over reason.

I don't understand it...

I could not...

I, who have watched time unfold for eternity, had never felt the weight of a single fleeting moment. But as I observe them now—two lovers defying the cycle I bound them to—I feel something unfamiliar.

Something close to... envy...

If I were human... could I love like that?

The thought lingers as I shift my gaze from them to the world below.

I have watched humanity from afar for eons, but I have never walked among them. Never breathed as they do. Never felt as they do.

Perhaps it is time.

I will descend. I will become one of them. I will observe them not as a keeper, not as a warden of time, but as a man.

And I will see for myself—if love is truly worth defying fate for.
