When Thaddeus arrived home, the maids welcomed him warmly, their smiles wide with relief at his return. But one of them glanced behind him, noticing Kayden wasn't with him.
"Sir… what about Sir Kayden?" she asked curiously.
Thaddeus paused briefly before answering in his usual composed tone. "He went back home already."
"Oh, okay, sir," she replied respectfully, bowing slightly before returning to her duties.
Thaddeus headed upstairs, the weight of the day still lingering on his shoulders. The first thing he did was strip away the fatigue in a hot shower, letting the steam relax his tense body. Once done, he instructed one of the maids to prepare something light yet delicious for him. His appetite wasn't large at the moment, but he needed something to settle his stomach while he waited for Kayden's call.
But the hours slipped by, and his phone remained silent. Each time he glanced at it, expecting the screen to light up, disappointment followed.
