CHAPTER SIXTY SEVEN
Daela flinches when the dragon suddenly crouches down to cup her wounded leg with one large hand.
"Let go! d_don't touch me, can you not eat me, please?" Daela kicks her free leg at the beast until the savage dragon catches that as well, holding her firmly so she can no longer move.
Daela watches him through teary eyes as the dragon surveys her leg closely.
Is he thinking the best way to prepare her? She shrieks at the thought.
"Be still." Although the command is softly spoken, everything about the dominant dragon is compelling and Daela naturally finds herself heeding.
It takes several moments for her to realize that the beast is removing the sharp metal that had pierced into her leg. The dragon's movements are swift, yet delicate, his hands gentle as though he is taking care not to cause Daela further pain.
