Chapter 131 - Chapter 131: The Second Sequence - Seffrin Sagamore

After finalizing the treatment plan, things became much simpler.

Three hours later, Locke applied for an isolated room at the clinic and placed Ruixing inside along with the Radiation Cauldron. Essie and Angulo were responsible for administering all the medications and setting up a blood transfusion apparatus for Ruixing.

Once preparations were complete, the two stepped out of the isolation room, leaving Locke to operate the Radiation Cauldron and release high-concentration Magic Radiation.

Instantly, small objects within the isolation room levitated under the intense Magic Pressure, floating mid-air and bobbing up and down as the Magic Pressure and Mana fluctuated. This indicated the presence of a rapidly shifting Magic Field inside the room.

"Using a mixed radiation frequency of 10Hz, 50Hz, and 35Hz—this universal combination can maximally suppress Magic Plant activity," Locke quickly calculated in his mind. "It also minimizes harm to the human body."

"This mixed frequency for weakening Magic Plants is something I'm trying for the first time."

Ruixing would serve as the perfect test subject to fill the gaps in his practical knowledge.

Inside the isolation room, Ruixing, lying on the hospital bed, turned deathly pale, her face drenched in cold sweat. She writhed in pain, trying to sit up, only to be slashed repeatedly by the barbed thorns of the three Degenerate Tiff Loron Vines, which had grown even more aggressive. Blood streaked across her skin.

Her agonized screams echoed through the room, starting as stifled whimpers before escalating into unrestrained cries.

"H-Help... please..."

"Stop it... now..."

The three Degenerate Tiff Loron Vines, far from weakening, seemed further provoked. They thrashed wildly, attacking everything around them—grabbing hospital beds, tables, and chairs, hurling them into the air before smashing them violently onto the ground. Then, they lashed out toward any signs of movement.

Outside the isolation room, beyond the observation window, a crowd had gathered. Alongside Locke, Angulo, and Essie, many First Class Wizard Apprentices and Potionology Assistants had been drawn by the unusual commotion. After all, this was a clinic, not a plantation.

Breeding studies and Potionology eventually erected steep knowledge barriers, so many of them were seeing a Radiation Cauldron for the first time—let alone witnessing a Breeder perform the Magic Resonance Breeding Method right before their eyes.

Locke continuously adjusted the Radiation Cauldron's frequency through his Mana connection, stabilizing it precisely within the three intended radiation frequencies.

Essie shifted uneasily. "Locke, are you sure this is safe? That girl looks like she can't take much more."

Angulo interjected, "Essie, don't distract him. What other choice do we have? The only alternative is risky forced extraction—which could easily destroy her mental faculties, leaving her unable to advance or even causing her magic to regress."

Among the team, the calmest one was Locke. His gaze was incredibly composed. "It seems different from what the books describe. Those magic vines not only show no signs of weakening but have instead become more frenzied—perhaps a chain reaction caused by the curse."

"Just as Teacher Sophia taught me, no magic book is absolute. Only practice is the best way to verify the truth."

The entire process lasted twenty minutes.

At the twenty-first minute, suddenly, the three furious Tiff Loron Vines went limp all at once, as if dehydrated, drooping weakly to the ground. Their leaves began to wither, and their thorns fell one after another.

This brought some relief to Ruixing, who had been in agony.

Ogham Tree Runes appeared on the surfaces of the three Tiff Loron Vines—these were the cantrip models Ruixing had left on them.

This indicated that under Locke's Magic Resonance Breeding Method, the Trick Model Vine Hand and Multiple Manipulation in Ruixing's consciousness were showing signs of collapse.

Seeing this, Locke nodded. "Everything is within expectations. It seems the earlier frenzy was just a final flare-up before extinction."

Angulo and Essie were thoroughly amazed.

Angulo remarked, "So this is how Breeders alter Magic Plants. Impressive. Though I didn't fully understand, as long as those Magic Plants are weakening, things will be much easier."

Thirty minutes later, Locke said to the two, "Come, let's hurry inside. We need to take this chance to replace her Magic Plants."

"I plan to swap out her three Tiff Loron Vines with three Super Mandrake Vines. But she's nearly unconscious, so the three of us will need to assist her through the process. Once the first step is done, the rest will be much smoother."

Essie and Angulo both nodded in agreement.

Essie added, "Locke, remember to note the cost of the three Super Mandrake Vines and the use of the Radiation Cauldron in her medical records."

"She'll have to cover those expenses herself."

The subsequent treatment lasted two hours.

By then, Ruixing had fallen into a deep coma from sheer exhaustion.

But on the isolation ward's bed, the three malignant deteriorating Tiff Loron Vines wrapped around her right arm had been replaced by three Super Mandrake Vines cultivated by Locke.

The curse on her body had also been completely lifted. All that remained was for her to recover, cleanse the residual curse and radiation, and regain her strength.

However, saving her had required forty-five bottles of Bear Spirit Bile Potion, one bottle of Royal Jelly Potion, one bottle of Counter-curse Potion mixed with Bloodlust Potion, three Super Mandrake Vines, and even summoning a Breeder to apply the Magic Resonance Breeding Method for her treatment.

There would be a series of follow-up medical expenses.

The debt from this treatment would likely take her many years to repay.

But at least her life had been saved.

After successfully completing the treatment, Locke, Essie, and Angulo shared a simple high-five in celebration.

Being able to resolve such a tricky new curse meant their treatment plan could be recorded as reference material for other Potionology Assistants in the treatment center who might encounter similar cases in the future.

This would also add considerable weight to their professional records.

After all, it wasn't every day that a new curse emerged and the first victim could be successfully saved right away.

Otherwise, the curse masters of the Blood Curse Court would be somewhat laughable.

Angulo expressed her gratitude to Locke and Essie, saying, "Thank you both—Locke, Essie. Without you, I truly wouldn't have known how to handle this patient."

"Now I can give a proper report to Teacher Edwin."

Locke nodded. "Consider it mutual assistance. Next time I encounter an unsolvable problem, I'll be sure to consult the two of you."

He then turned to look at the three half-withered, deteriorated magic vines lying on the ground, still twitching. "I'll take these with me."

"Is that alright?"

Neither Essie nor Angulo were Breeders, so they had no interest in such things. Among those present, only Locke would have any desire to study these Magical Plants.

Essie and Angulo immediately agreed, telling him he could dispose of them as he pleased.

Locke used magic to preserve the three magic vines, then held them in his hand for closer inspection. Sure enough, on the main stem of one vine, he found a string of words carved with an Enchanter's Inscription Knife: [Second Sequence: Seffrin Sagamore].

The Inscription Knife ensured these markings wouldn't fade easily. As for why someone would leave this name on the magic vine, the reason was simple—

It was to let others know who had developed this new curse.

Some of the Black Wizards in the Blood Curse Court had rather flamboyant personalities and were prone to such behavior. Locke searched carefully and indeed found this line of text.
