Chapter 130 - Chapter 130: The Magic Plant Curse and Treatment Plan

At that moment, Locke glanced at Ruixing lying on the sickbed, showing no intention of warning her.

Their statuses were now worlds apart, completely different from their circumstances on the Wizard Ship.

Now, she was a Second-Class Wizard Apprentice, while he was a First-Class Wizard Apprentice and a Potionology Assistant.

Given her current condition, even if he and Angulo managed to cure her, the curse would likely leave her severely weakened. She probably wouldn't be able to advance for at least three or four years.

Even if her future wasn't completely ruined, she would still be stuck in stagnation for a long time.

Settling scores with a nobody like her over what happened on the Wizard Ship held no appeal for him.

At most, he might settle accounts with Gregor and her affiliated Verdantia University after becoming a Formal Wizard.

For now, Locke was merely helping his friends, Angulo and Essie, complete the academy task assigned by their Wizard Mentor.

And earning some Magic Stones in the process.

Angulo and Essie had been a great help to him at the treatment center.

Especially since he hadn't yet mastered the Lesser Emerald Potion and lacked sufficient experience in Potionology—he often relied on their assistance in daily tasks.

As a result, the friendship among the three of them had grown stronger.

Locke shared his thoughts with Angulo and Essie. "First, we must administer the Bear Spirit Bile Potion intravenously. I believe she'll need at least 15 bottles."

Angulo and Essie nodded slightly.

This was standard procedure. The Bear Spirit Bile Potion had a wide range of applications—even those without ailments could use it.

After all, its primary effect was boosting one's magic resistance.

Some wizards would even drink a bottle before entering areas with high-energy radiation.

It was practically like a health supplement—whether it worked or not, people still took it.

Essie hesitated before reminding Locke, "Locke, the 15-bottle estimate is based on a First-Class Wizard Apprentice with Magic Pressure. You have to consider that a Second-Class Wizard Apprentice's soul has no protective shell—it's extremely fragile. She'll need much stronger magic resistance to shield her. So I think she'll need at least 45 bottles."

Angulo shot her a look, stunned by the number. "Essie, that's excessive. 45 bottles? Do you want to turn this Verdantia University apprentice into a water balloon?"

"Thirty bottles should be enough. Any more than that isn't realistic."

Locke coughed lightly.

Angulo quickly cut off Essie before she could retort. "Alright, let's not interrupt Locke. Let's hear what else he has to say."

Essie glared at him.

Locke continued, "The first treatment plan is to sever the connection between her Magic Plant and her Mana—meaning we immediately replace her magic vines."

"By replacing the magic vines, we can remove the three malignantly deteriorated Tiff Loron Vines. However, the challenge lies in the fact that these three deteriorated vines cling to their original host like vampires. It won't be easy to separate them."

Angulo nodded repeatedly. "It is indeed risky. These three Magic Plants have already turned parasitic. Trying to separate them would be extremely difficult for me."

Locke continued, "The second option is to find a way to restore these three Magic Plants to their original state. This would be the most ideal scenario. The curse she's under is likely the Bloodlust Curse."

"We'll administer the Bloodlust Curse Special Antidote Potion to both her and the three Magic Plants simultaneously."

"Of course, while the special antidote can lift the curse from a wizard apprentice, the mutated Magic Plants will at most be weakened—they can never return to their original form. Therefore, we can use the Magic Resonance Breeding Method to induce targeted reverse mutation."

"In other words, we'll use the antidote to restore her to normal while employing a Radiation Cauldron to at least return her Magic Plants to a harmless state."

A gleam flashed in Locke's eyes. Ruixing's condition was so rare that he was genuinely tempted to try this approach.

This would be extremely useful for improving his proficiency in the Magic Resonance Breeding Method and would greatly benefit his efforts to pass the Breeder examination as soon as possible.

The only downside was that it would be terrible for Ruixing herself.

This would essentially be treating her as a complete lab rat. Claiming full recovery was merely the best-case scenario—in reality, it would likely worsen her condition.

Yet such a radical treatment plan was also the one with the highest chance of not affecting her future prospects at all.

After all, imagination knows no bounds.

Locke's thoughts returned to reality as he presented what he considered the most practical third option. "The third option focuses on replacing her Magic Plants."

"Replacing the Magic Plants is the most viable solution to her current problem."

"During the replacement process, I can use a Breeder's specialized method: employing a Radiation Cauldron to weaken her existing Magic Plants while forcibly replacing them with a more dominant, higher-tier Magic Plant from the same ecological niche."

"By leveraging the competitive relationship between higher and lower-tier Magic Plants in the same niche, we can forcibly expel the three degraded specimens. Meanwhile, Angulo and Essie, you two will be responsible for lifting the curse on this Second-Class Wizard Apprentice from Verdantia University."

"Of course, the third option still carries risks. The Radiation Cauldron will inevitably affect her body since she'll need to endure at least half an hour of high Magic Radiation exposure."

Angulo and Essie exchanged glances before quickly discussing the feasibility of Locke's three proposed solutions.

The second option was the first they ruled out. While ideal in theory, attempting to reverse-mutate already mutated Magic Plants was simply too difficult.

Even a Senior Breeder might not possess such capability.

Otherwise, there wouldn't be so many ecological disasters caused by Magic Plants in the wild.

The key difference between the first and second options lay in whether to use the Radiation Cauldron. Finally, Angulo nodded at Locke and said, "Locke, Essie and I have discussed this. We can attempt your third option."

"The first option—direct replacement of Magic Plants—is too difficult. While we wouldn't mind, this Second-Class Wizard Apprentice is too fragile. If our technique is even slightly rough, her body and Mana would be completely torn apart by these three Magic Plants."

"We can't just replace it without weakening it first."

Essie added, "We can give her Royal Jelly Potion to boost her vitality, along with 45 doses of Bear Spirit Bile Potion. If she can't drink it, we'll administer it intravenously."

"We can also set up a Blood Exchange Device to forcibly inject the potions. This should minimize the impact the Radiation Cauldron has had on her body."

Essie glanced regretfully at Ruixing lying on the hospital bed. "What a shame. A perfectly good Wizard Seed, a young girl, reduced to this state by those Black Wizards."

"If she were at least a First Class Wizard Apprentice, this wouldn't be so difficult. Now we have to patch things together and forcibly restore her."

Ruixing's eyelashes fluttered slightly on the bed, as if she'd heard Essie's pity for her.

And indeed she had.

If any of the three—Locke or the others—had been cursed like this, they could have simply forced a Magic Plant replacement before the curse became further entangled with their Mana and soul, complicating matters.

Even if it had reached this severe and complex stage, they could have relied on their Magic Pressure Structure to forcibly replace the Magic Plant, suffering at most a few months of weakness.

But Ruixing was only a Second-Class Wizard Apprentice, with no Magic Pressure Structure on her soul. She was like fragile tofu, and Locke and the others were trying to carve intricate patterns into it—without breaking the tofu.

Treating a powerful wizard, no matter how complex the curse, was far simpler than treating a weak wizard afflicted with a particularly vicious curse like this.

At the very least, they could experiment more freely on a powerful wizard without worrying about killing them.

Locke said, "Then let's begin. I'll have my servant fetch the Radiation Cauldron."

Angulo reminded Locke, "Tell your servant to be careful. Don't let them damage the Radiation Cauldron during transport."

Though Angulo wasn't a Breeder, she knew the thing was expensive.
