With the Hell Set, he could survive in this chaotic high-dimensional cosmos.
Next—
He only needed to place the final tile of the Heavenly Palace. The resulting collision would shatter the barriers of the chaotic high-dimensional cosmos, allowing him to briefly escape this universe.
Chen Mang silently gazed back at his companions.
Biaozi, Old Pig, and the others were all there.
He knew this journey was fraught with unknowns, and he couldn't guarantee their return. He had initially intended to leave Old Pig and the others behind, but they insisted on joining him, saying that even if they couldn't be of much help, they would face hardship together.
Thus, every one of his trusted companions was aboard the Stellaris train, while the planets of human civilization remained scattered across the cosmos.
Whether to come or stay was entirely voluntary.
To his surprise, Yan Yao, Ji Chuchu, and Xiao Fang had also joined them. Meanwhile, the celestial maidens gifted by the Black Tortoise Civilization chose to remain with human civilization.
With what he had left behind, even if these individuals couldn't rule the world, their lives would certainly be comfortable.
The fact that these women were willing to die alongside him was something he hadn't anticipated.
Perhaps...
He had underestimated them.
Huff
After a long silence, Chen Mang exhaled softly, gazing at the chaotic scene before him. A flicker of confusion crossed his eyes. He didn't know what lay beyond the universe, but he had to go and see—to find out which civilization had stolen his child.
In the next moment—
Inside the Stellaris train, the final tile of the Present State Heavenly Palace clicked into place.
Immediately afterward, the Present State Heavenly Palace, the Future State Heavenly Palace, and the Past State Heavenly Palace suddenly flew out of the train, spinning rapidly around each other. Their speed increased until it became impossible for the naked eye to track. Then, a cataclysmic explosion erupted!
It was an explosion of unimaginable magnitude!
Flames engulfed the Stellaris train in an instant.
In the daze—
He seemed to see a rift open in the space ahead. The constantly shifting, molten-gold-like light around them gradually coalesced into a flowing, milky-white liquid. A powerful suction force pulled the Stellaris train forward, dragging it out of control.
A flash of white light.
When the scene before him shifted again, Chen Mang sat in the locomotive cabin, staring ahead in shock. Having escaped the cosmos through the rift, they now found themselves hovering above a coastal area. Below, pedestrians strolled and cyclists rode by, none of them noticing the invisible train suspended in the air.
Outside the cosmos... is another world?
He wasn't in some laboratory after all. Turning to look behind him, he saw a shattered coconut lying on the ground. During the brief moment of transit, as they fled the cosmos, he had glimpsed the entirety of their universe.
The cosmos was a coconut.
The coconut had shattered.
They had escaped from the coconut and arrived in this new world.
Chen Mang stared blankly at the coconut on the ground. He had imagined countless possibilities for what their universe might be, but the most likely scenario, he had always believed, was that he was merely a lab rat.
He had never imagined that the universe they inhabited was actually a coconut.
Now that the coconut had shattered, would their universe also experience a Cosmic Big Bang as a result?
The passengers on the train stood frozen in shock, unsure how to react to the unfolding events.
It had to be said that humans, driven by emotion, often lacked the calm rationality of AI when dealing with major crises. At that moment, only the AI maintained its composure, its voice slightly urgent as it announced, "Train Conductor, I've detected an extremely powerful force rapidly approaching."
Before the words could fully register, a wormhole-like space gate suddenly materialized ahead of the train. As the gate opened, a young man in a daoist robe, leaning on a staff, stepped out and stood in the void before the locomotive cabin. He gazed through the glass at Chen Mang inside, a faint smile playing on his lips.
"Fourth Brother, welcome home."
"Did you enjoy your journey?"
"Fourth Brother?"
Chen Mang's lips moved, momentarily lost in confusion. He stared at the unfamiliar young man before him, unsure what to say. "Who are you?"
"My name is Chen Qiu," the man replied with a smile, standing outside the train in the void, clad in a daoist robe. "I'm your third brother. Don't look at me like that—the explanation is complicated. I had the same reaction when I first learned about it. Father is on his way, but he was delayed preparing a gift for you. He'll be here soon."
In the next moment—
Another wormhole-like space gate materialized beside them.
This time, a group of people emerged.
Each of them gazed at Chen Mang through the locomotive cabin window with excited eyes, as if they all knew him.
"Chen Mang, welcome home," a man said, stepping through the space gate. He exuded an air of refined elegance and an almost overwhelming presence. Smiling gently, he continued, "I'm Chen Yi, your biological father. The 'Mang' birthmark on the back of your hand—that was left for you by me."
"The explanation is rather complicated, but it's the destiny of the Chen Family."
"We'll explain everything properly once we're home."
"Let's go home first."
"I've searched your universe and learned all about your deeds. You haven't disappointed me. Among all my sons, you wield the greatest power. I've already archived the human civilization you established, ensuring its survival beyond the Cosmic Big Bang. It can be relocated to another universe at any time."
"It's not quite the same," Chen Qiu interjected, shaking his head. "My Mocking Heaven Sect may have fewer members, but they're all elites. Power isn't just about numbers. While Fourth Brother is formidable, I mean to say that my Mocking Heaven Sect is also exceptionally strong."
Moments later, Chen Mang, still dazed, found himself following a large group of suddenly appearing family members through a space gate. Though he didn't recognize them, he felt an undeniable sense of familiarity and warmth radiating from them—the unmistakable connection of bloodline.
These people were indeed his family.
He had always believed himself to be an orphan, yet now he discovered he had so many relatives.
The revelation left him momentarily stunned.
"That's the whole story," Chen Yi explained to Chen Mang at his estate, recounting the entire sequence of events. He concluded with a sigh, "This is the first time I've met you too. You crossed over while you were still in your mother's womb."
"This is the Chen Family's fate."
"For some reason, Chen Family members always seem to slip away while still in the womb."
"That's why I never even got to meet you."
Chen Mang glanced at the tearful woman beside him. His father had told him her name was Jia Ye, his mother. Perhaps sensing the familial connection in their bloodline, he couldn't help but utter a word that felt utterly foreign: "Mom."
He had spoken that word countless times in his life.
But always as part of vulgar insults, starting with "fuck" or "damn."
He had never spoken the word alone.
It felt utterly strange, yet carried an indescribable warmth.
"Mang..."
Jia Ye, her eyes red-rimmed, stroked the back of Chen Mang's head. "You've suffered so much these past years. You won't have to endure such hardship anymore."
"Wait!"
Chen Mang took a deep breath, his expression suddenly darkening. "Father, are there other High-Dimensional Civilizations or enemies of the Chen Family out there? My child was stolen while still in the womb. My journey across the cosmos was solely for this purpose!"
"..."
After a long silence, Chen Yi finally spoke.
"No."
"The Chen Family has no enemies. As the Lord of the Myriad Universes, we have no rivals. No one can match us. Moreover, with my sons returning one after another over the years, our family's power has only grown stronger, making us even more invincible."
"You mentioned your woman is pregnant?"
"Yes."
"So, that would be my grandson?" Chen Yi scanned the crowd, his gaze settling on Xiao Fang standing nearby. He murmured, "No need to search. My grandson has already embarked on the path destined for a Chen Family member. He will begin his own journey in an unfamiliar universe."
"But..." Chen Mang protested anxiously, "but he's just a child!"
"Weren't you just a child when you crossed over?" Chen Yi countered, looking at Chen Mang. "Your third brother, Chen Qiu, was also a child when he traversed dimensions. Trust in the Chen Family—even a child can achieve great things."
"Have you named him yet?"
"Yes, Chen Jiang."
"A good name."
"Can't you find him?"
"No. If I could, I would have brought you back long ago."
Inside the manor...
This seemingly ordinary manor, nestled within a planet, hardly resembled the residence one would expect of the Lord of the Universe. Yet this unassuming estate held dominion over countless universes.
Until now.
Biaozi and Old Pig were still in a daze. They had always believed Lord Mang was an orphan, never imagining his true lineage was so vast—that his father was the Lord of the Universe.
They now understood what lay beyond the cosmos.
Beyond the cosmos existed countless universes, collectively known as the "Multiverse." Among them was a single Prime Universe, the one where Chen Mang's father resided, and where he reigned as the most powerful being.
Old Pig sat blankly on a stone bench, staring at the book in his hands. It had been given to him by a man named Tuberculosis Rabbit after he returned to the Chen Family.
The title read:
[Chen Family History and Understanding Guide].
The book chronicled the life stories of the Chen Family's key figures and their trusted confidants, detailing the rise of this vast clan led by Patriarch Chen Yi, his wife Jia Ye, and their inner circle. Tuberculosis Rabbit, it turned out, was one of Patriarch Chen Yi's most trusted aides.
Tuberculosis Rabbit had been working for Chen Yi since long, long ago.
"Unbelievable," Biaozi finally muttered after a long silence. He still hadn't fully recovered from the shock and found it hard to accept, but the truth was undeniable.
Meanwhile—
In a room within the Chen Family estate, Chen Mang sat alone in his study, flipping through the Chen Family History and Understanding Guide. After a long while, he couldn't help but chuckle softly, his eyes filled with emotion.
The truth was undeniable, leaving him no choice but to believe it.
Yet, as he reflected on his life, he realized that what he had always believed to be his first transmigration—his journey to Aquablue Star—was actually his second.
He simply hadn't known it.
His first transmigration had occurred while he was still in his mother's womb.
The "birthmark" on the back of his hand was actually a pre-emptive cheat prepared by his father, who had foreseen his son's premature departure. This safeguard ensured Chen Mang would possess the means to protect himself, no matter which universe he ended up in.
My father had thought everything through meticulously.
But it was clear that he, as a father, hadn't been nearly as thorough. He hadn't prepared anything for his child, who had ventured into a new world empty-handed, without knowing what kind of world it would be.
Perhaps it was a fantasy world, or a xuanhuan world, or even a bizarre and eerie world.
But one thing was certain:
From now on, the protagonist of the story would no longer be him, but his son, Chen Jiang.
"..."
Chen Mang stood up, lit a cigarette, and gazed out the study window at the peach blossoms. A faint smile played on his lips as he exhaled smoke. After a moment, he turned to look at Xiao Fang, who had remained standing in the same spot.
Ever since the child's disappearance, Xiao Fang had been consumed by grief and guilt.
Although she had no connection to the incident, she still felt deeply responsible.
"Come here," Chen Mang said, waving Xiao Fang over with a gentle smile. "Children and grandchildren have their own fortunes. This has nothing to do with you. You'll see him again soon, and by then, he'll have grown up."
"He's been through so much."
"I'll tell you about his experiences slowly."
"Isn't that interesting?"
He held Xiao Fang in his arms, gently patting her back to comfort her. These were just words of comfort; if they had a choice, every parent would want to personally guide their child's growth.
In a daze, he recalled his early days after transmigrating, when he was a slave on Master Kun's train.
No food, no water.
After leading a revolt, he became the new train conductor, beginning his rise to power in the apocalypse.
After a long silence, Chen Mang rose and lit three cigarettes, sticking them into the flowerpot on his desk as a farewell to Master Kun. He had always owed Master Kun three sticks of incense, and now he was finally paying his respects. Without the resources Master Kun had given him in the beginning, his path to growth would have been much longer and more arduous.
In a way, Master Kun had been his angel investor.
Worthy of three sticks of incense.
After lighting the incense, he suddenly felt a sense of peace wash over him, as if a long-held burden had finally been lifted. He shook his head and couldn't help but smile.
He picked up a glass of wine from the table and drained it in one gulp.
Then he lit another cigarette.
Holding Xiao Fang in his arms, he glanced at Old Pig and the others chatting outside the window, then looked up at the sky, his expression gradually becoming distant.
He knew.
The story of Chen Mang had come to an end.
The next act would belong to Chen Jiang.
Was his story a good one? He left that for future generations to judge. His task now was simply to enjoy life.
