The two figures clashed as they reappeared, weapons colliding before both of them were thrown backward at the same time. It happened so fast that neither was given a chance to follow up with another strike.
"Master Kurogasa, please respect me as second in command while the lord is unavailable. We cannot waste time," Edrik said firmly.
"The lord never delegated you to die," Kurogasa replied coldly. "If this is your personal decision, then no one has the right to stop me from doing the same."
Shadow chains burst forth again, shooting toward Edrik at high speed, trying to bind him. Edrik leaped and flipped through the air, the chain blade missing him completely.
"I can redirect the attacks aimed at me into my dimensional space," Edrik said calmly. "I am the most suitable one for this task."
Kurogasa appeared in front of Edrik in an instant and struck again, but Edrik blocked with his dagger in his left hand.
