POV: Ember
I dropped the baby bottle and stumbled backward when silver light suddenly burst from my hands.
Hope started crying in her high chair, but I couldn't move. The same glowing energy I'd seen in my dreams was coming from my palms, just like when I fought that dark monster.
"What's happening to me?" I whispered.
The light faded as quickly as it came, leaving me shaking. This was the third strange thing today. First, I'd known exactly how to make the twins stop crying with a special song I didn't remember learning. Then, I'd felt Ash's emotions when he walked into the room, like his feelings were inside my head.
Now this.
"Mama!" Hunter babbled from his bouncer, reaching his tiny hands toward me.
I picked him up, and the moment I touched him, images flooded my mind. Two men standing beside a hospital bed. One with brown eyes full of love, the other with silver eyes full of pain. Both of them holding my hands while I gave birth.
