Chapter 8 - Waterfall of Love

Bery looked herself in the mirror. The clothes given to her fit perfectly. The blue sun dress had a pretty white skirt with flowers on it. The outfit was completed with white strap shoes that fit comfortably on Bery's feet. She gazed at herself nervously in the mirror but couldn't help marveling at her own beauty.

She gave herself a twirl, and the white skirt flowed like a dancer. Was looking so gorgeous even allowed for Bery? She'd never seen herself in such expensive pretty clothing. Why do I want to look good in the first place?

Bery walked out into the hallway, and Valerie greeted her.

"You look so stunning in blue. It matches your eyes well. Hopefully, you found that the skirt is comfortable for your tail. It was hard to get an accurate measurement for the size hole I should cut from a distance."

Bery's eyes widened, and her cheeks became bright red. How did she not notice? Her tail waved freely behind her and didn't get caught on anything. She stared at Valerie's own clothing for comparison.

The dragon wore a flowing black dress with a red pleated skirt. The length of her skirt was much more risque, and Bery couldn't help staring at Valerie's long and thick white legs.

Valerie's two hands grabbed onto Bery's cheeks. The dragon's eyes roamed over Bery's cute face.

The hunger in those two red jewels sent shivers down Bery's spine.

Bery's eyes felt watery, and her lips quivered in expectations of something. Her own blue orbs roamed down Valerie's face to her plush lips.

"Danger!…"

The voice in her head was tuned out by this bubbling feeling. Bery saw the devilish grin of the dragon. She felt Valerie's warm breath and the dragon's hands caressing her face like a precious jewel.

What the cat girl didn't expect was the reddening of Valerie's own cheeks. She seemed nervous as well, and her words came out soft spoken.

"Can I...Kiss you?"

The cat's ears waved on her head wildly. Her heart pounded inside of her chest like a rapid beating drum. She felt weak on the inside and outside. It was as if some part of her would fold. Was this something normal for people? Did people ask each other to kiss each other? Did people kiss people they barely knew?

So many questions waved around inside of Bery's mind, but there was one question she knew the answer to. Rationality had completely lost. She wanted to kiss the dragon before her so much. She had no idea why. There was no rhyme or reason for it. It wasn't something she could explain. Nor was it something she could understand with paintings.

However, she was too shocked to use words. Bery nodded meekly.

Valerie pressed her lips against Bery's.

The feeling was completely alien. It was soft and pleasant. A warmth spread to Bery's mouth, and it coiled down her body into her guts. The feeling was like the fiery inferno of the dragon's breath in intensity.

Valerie breathed the cat in eagerly and pressed her against the wall. She savored the taste, and used her hands to hold onto the back of Bery's neck. One of those demonic hands roamed up Bery's face before caressing the tip of her ear.

Bery went weak in the knees and nearly fell onto the floor before she was caught by Valerie's arms.

The dragon stroked Bery's hair. "Are you okay?"

More than okay, Bery was feeling something completely foreign. The fire inside of her would not abate, and her mind was cloudy with need for this woman. That heat had completely spread down her body, and it was particularly noticeable between her legs.

Bery nodded her head. "My ears are sensitive."

Valerie noticed the teary-eyed cat girl's expression and bit her lip. She pulled away from Bery and gritted her teeth. "You are practically irresistible, Bery."

Bery knew what was happening. She wasn't so dumb to not understand this much. The pounding of her heart was making her lose. She was losing the will to run away from her. The better judgment in her mind was saying that it was wrong to fall for this dragon. That kissing her would lead to her inevitable doom, but falling felt so great.

Moreover, there was another scary thought. It felt strange for Valerie to call her Bery now. Do I...Do I want her to call me kitten?

She'd heard those words all of her life from the most despicable people in her tribe. Bery had heard those words from the very bandits that led to this situation, and she heard them from the woman who now gazed at her lovingly.

Everything felt wrong and right at the same time, making Bery's head spin.

"Come with me," the dragon said. She didn't take no for an answer and pulled Bery towards a hallway next to her room.

The two of them went down a tunnel for a while, until they exited a door. Light struck Bery's eyes, and she had to blink several times to adjust. Her ears twitched with the sounds of nature in the morning.

They'd exited the castle completely and entered the valley that Bery had seen from her window.

Valerie picked up Bery before the cat girl could protest and leapt into the air. Wings sprouted from Valerie's back and flapped hard against the air, propelling the two upwards.

Bery closed her eyes and pressed her face into Valerie's chest instinctively, hiding herself from the view of the distant ground below.

Luckily for her, it didn't take long for them to reach their destination. They landed on some bright shining rocks next to a river. The sound of rushing water overtook all sounds of the forest.

They'd landed at the top of the waterfall, and it was even more shocking up close. White bubbles frothed at the bottom of the heavy falling water, and Bery could only stand in stunned silence. Not sure why she was brought here or what to say after what had happened.

The dragon leapt towards the edge and sat with her legs off the cliff. She patted the rock next to her, and Bery walked and sat down.

"I always come here when I need to clear my mind. I wasn't sure what I could do for you, but I hoped this would help."

Bery looked down towards the lake at the bottom of the cliff face. It was quite a pretty sight if she was honest with herself. And the sound was loud enough to drown out the voice in her head. Not that of Yuri, rather her internal voice that kept prodding at her from different angles.

"Do you consider yourself a deep thinker?" Valerie asked.

"What do you mean?"

"I always watched you from up there." The dragon pointed towards the top of the mountain where the wizard's tower stood. Though, from their position, it wasn't visible. "Every time you painted you seemed lost in your own world. I always wondered what you were thinking at those times."

"I don't know. I didn't think you would ask me something like this. I keep getting confused, and I don't know how to feel."

Valerie smiled and grabbed onto Bery's hand. "Feeling is not something that you know how to do, is it? Feeling is something that comes more naturally. What do you feel when you are painting nature?"

Bery grinned. "When I'm painting nature, I feel serene. It's like when you watch this waterfall. It sparks up your imagination. Like what kind of fish are swimming down there? Where did this river come from? But most importantly, it makes me feel safe."

"And those are all feelings you can't really control? Why does nature make you feel safe, but to others, it can be quite scary? Is that not why the mortal races concern themselves with building massive cities and hiding themselves inside?"

Bery shrugged. "I don't really know. It's the same thing with you." Bery's face flushed as she looked over Valerie. "I don't understand these feelings. Even if I look at you right now, my heart will beat like crazy. And when you kissed me…"

Valerie pressed her finger against Bery's lips. She pulled the cat girl into her lap and wrapped Bery up in a sweet hug. Her lips carried a whisper into Bery's ear.

"You don't need to explain how you're feeling to me. I'm afraid that if you do it, I might not be able to hold back."

Bery flinched, but she leaned into the hug, pressing herself tighter into Valerie's body. If she could explain how she felt, there would be no need to run away. If she trusted her feelings, would she lose herself to a fiendish pleasure? The thought was terrifying, and the cat couldn't bring herself to do it.

Valerie's hand rubbed her purring cat's back. "There is no need for you to do anything right now. I will have you for the rest of eternity, and you will be like this river. The waterfall of your love will pour out into an endless lake."
