Chapter 2 - The Mysterious Task

Akash beamed with pride as he slid his notebook toward Arahan. His handwriting was a little crooked, the lines bent, but the multiplication tables were written with effort and hope.

Arahan leaned forward, scanning the page.

"Three ones are three… three twos are six…" He nodded. "Not bad, Akash. Only one mistake here."

"Where?" Akash leaned in eagerly.

Arahan pointed at the bottom of the page. "Three sevens are twenty-one, not twenty-four."

"Oh," Akash frowned, then scratched his head. "I knew it… I just wrote it too fast."

"It's alright," Arahan smiled. "You're getting better."

As they continued, the warm scent of chai lingered in the air, mingling with the sound of turning pages and Akash's occasional humming.

But in the corner of Arahan's vision, the system panel blinked again.

[Ding!]

"Geetanjali, you really are a good mom, because of you, Akash is learning fast. If you even give birth to another child, you will also be a good mom for the new child." Arahan praised as he patted her shoulders.

Geetanjali nodded with a pleased expression, but then she thought of his second statement, that even if she gives birth to another child, she will also be a good mom.

But, how she gives birth to another child.

After a few seconds, she finds about his hidden meaning, and she blushes.

"You're a scoundrel," After saying this, she picked up the tray and ran back to the kitchen.

Arahan glanced toward the kitchen. Geetanjali was there, visible through the open curtain—drying the last steel cups, one hand on her hip, sari draped neatly over her shoulder.

He turned back to Akash, who was now solving sums in a new notebook.

Arahan didn't know, that system would help him or not, but since he also wants to become close with Geetanjali.

He didn't hesitate about this.

———

The last of the sums were finished. Akash let out a deep sigh, stretching his arms high above his head. "That's all for today, right?"

Arahan chuckled. "For now. Tomorrow, we start word problems."

Akash groaned playfully as Geetanjali returned to the room, wiping her hands on the end of her sari.

"Thank you again, Arahan," she said softly. "He's improved more in the last few months than I ever expected."

"Of course, I see him as my own son, so how could I not help him?" Arahan replied to her.

"You…" Geetanjali is blushed when hearing him, she gently beats him on his chest.

"You always tried to flirt with me."

Arahan held her hand, and then suddenly wrapped his hand around her waist and brought her in his embrace.

"If you give me a chance, I can do more than that," He said, as he sniffed and licked her neck.

Geetanjali tried to separate with him, and she successfully escaped from the embrace, "I will think about it." Saying that she ran inside the room.

"Haha," Arahan laughed, seeing her running inside.

At the same time, the system window again appeared in front of him.

Due to unknown cause Geetanjali relationship +1 → 8/100.

Seeing that his relationship increases, he knows she has also started accepting him.

After packing his things, he stepped outside, slipping his sandals back on. The sun had nearly dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows over the narrow lanes of Varnapur.

He turned down the road that led toward the outskirts of the village, where his small rented room stood.

As his stepped quickens, he started thinking, that money was real or not.

If it was real, then he was really lucky.

He even thought of doing all the tasks, no matter what they are.

But for knowing that it could actually be used or not.

He wants to quickly reach his room.

Arahan reached his landlord's gate and pushed it open, walking briskly through the courtyard. A cow shifted lazily nearby. The evening breeze tugged at his shirt.

He was just a few steps from his room when—

Thud!

Something soft collided against his chest.

Arahan stumbled back, steadying himself.

A small gasp.

He looked up.

A girl stood before him, blinking in surprise. Her dupatta had slipped slightly from her shoulder, and her dark eyes widened as she realized who she had run into.

It was Sabiha, the daughter of his room owner.

She has held a pit filled with water, and due to colliding, some water droplets have fallen on her clothes.

"I—I didn't see you—" she stammered.

Before Arahan could respond, he noticed the pot tilting slightly in her arms.

"Careful—" He said.

But it was too late.

The water surged over the rim in a sudden spill, and they all fell on her white salwar kameez.

A soft gasp escaped her lips as the cold water soaked through the thin fabric, clinging to her skin and dampening the pale dupatta draped over her shoulders.

She stepped back instinctively, one hand clutching the wet cloth, eyes wide with both shock and embarrassment.

Both of them froze for a second.

Arahan noticed that her clothes had become wet. They nearly become transparent.

He can now see her full figure, even her bra and panty are also visible a little.

A deep blush spreads across Sabiha's cheeks as she realizes the state of her dress. She tries to adjust her dupatta.

"Arahan…" she stammered, her voice small, barely above a whisper. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to—"

She looked away, clutching the brass pot tighter, her fingers trembling. But Arahan didn't hear her apology.

His eyes, despite his better judgment, had frozen on the wet fabric clinging tightly to her form. The once-soft white salwar kameez now traced the outline of her figure.

Her soaked dupatta offered little modesty. Her hair stuck to her cheeks in damp strands, and her chest rose and fell in quick, anxious breaths.

Realizing his stare, Arahan blinked hard and looked away, he started feeling a little guilt and heat rushing to his face.

Sabiha noticed.

She wrapped her arms across her chest, shrinking slightly under his gaze.

"Arahan," She whispered again, this time with urgency, "Please… can you help me? I can't go inside like this. Not through the front. My brothers... they're still in the courtyard."

Her eyes pleaded with him.

Arahan looking at the task, he accepted it, without any hesitation.

He took out his shirt, and gave it to her, "Wear it, and follow me."

Sabiha nodded, as he walked step by step, she followed him.

The courtyard was dim now, shadows stretching longer as the last orange hues of sunset faded into twilight.

Arahan led the way around the side of the house.

"Stop," he said looking at Sabiha's brother passing through side of the house, and he stopped her with his hand.

At the same time, his hand has touched her soft bun.

Feeling the softness in his hand, he was a little shocked at what he held in his hand.

He even squeezed the soft bun.

"Aah," Hearing a moan, he turned and found, the thing he held was not some bun, but it was Sabiha's breast.

"I am sorry," Arahan said, and he quickly removed his hand from her breast.

"It's okay," Sabiha said in a mosquito tone, she was completely blushing.

Soon, he arrived near her room window.

"You can go inside from here," He said, Sabiha nodded and went inside the room.

"Thank you," she whispered.

Her voice was barely audible, but full of relief.

Arahan turned away, giving her the privacy to go.
