"What a hassle." Colress sighed and waved his hand, signaling his subordinates to deal with the young man. Colress himself turned to enter the laboratory to pack his belongings, as this base had already been discovered. Given the circumstances, it was naturally impossible to remain here.
However, shortly after he turned around, two loud bangs and the terrified cries of Team Plasma subordinates echoed. Colress turned his head back and saw that his subordinates' Golbat and Raticate had already been defeated by the opponent.
"Don't struggle. Opponents of this caliber are a bit too weak for me, Mr. Researcher. Would you mind coming with me obediently?" Drayton's tone remained languid, with Archaludon and Salamence standing impressively before him.
"I see. It seems you're not an ordinary Trainer. Might I inquire about your esteemed name, young man?" Colress narrowed his eyes slightly, but a slow smile spread across his lips as he took an Ultra Ball from his trench coat pocket.
"Drayton, currently a student at Blueberry Academy." Drayton looked at Colress with interest.
"Mr. Researcher, are you going to engage me? I don't condone such a meaningless action; it's a bit of a waste of time."
"He's just a student? It seems Team Plasma's Superior members are truly embarrassing, being inferior to even a student's opponent." Colress's tone remained very calm.
"Don't worry, you won't be disappointed. This fellow just woke up not long ago; it's a perfect opportunity to test its combat capabilities with you." Colress opened the Poké Ball, and a strangely shaped Pokémon landed in front of him.
"This is?" Drayton looked at the purple Pokémon in front of him with confusion. It was a gigantic bipedal Bug Pokémon, its body covered in purple armor, and most notably, it had a massive cannon on its back.
"Genesect, that's its name." Colress stood behind Genesect, a calm, faint smile playing on his lips, and slowly began to introduce it.
"This is a Bug Pokémon that existed 300 million years ago. In that era, they were feared as the strongest hunters, and I revived them."
"Not just revived, right? You also modified it?" Drayton's expression gradually turned serious because he could feel the faint but intense pressure emanating from the Pokémon named Genesect. This Genesect was very strong!
Moreover… the technology to revive Pokémon from fossils naturally existed. But how could an ancient Pokémon revived from a fossil look like this, filled with high-tech armor? Especially the massive cannon on Genesect's back; this was simply not how an ancient Pokémon should look.
"You saw through it. That's right, I modified it, giving it stronger combat abilities. It's perfect, isn't it?" Colress revealed a strange smile; he was very proud of his work!
"Sure enough, Team Plasma's researchers are the same as Team Plasma itself." Drayton's expression turned slightly cold.
"Such remarks would trouble me greatly, young man." Colress shook his head.
"Science is incredibly marvelous, and Pokémon even more so. My research topic has always been 'how to make Pokémon unleash greater potential,' and Genesect is no exception." Colress said calmly; he didn't feel he had done anything wrong.
"I modified Genesect, but I made it stronger, didn't I? I gave them a second life and made them stronger than in ancient times, allowing them to unleash greater potential. They should even thank me."
"You're quite good at self-deception. Should I praise you a few times?" Drayton sneered twice.
"Artificially modifying Pokémon is a serious crime!"
"That's true, which is why I've always been wanted by the League." Colress nodded.
He was labeled a 'Dark Scientist' and was wanted for grave crimes such as researching and using explicitly forbidden weapons, applying them to Pokémon, and modifying Pokémon. Because of this, he joined Team Plasma.
"Well, the small talk is over, young man. Your strength is quite good, isn't it? Let's test this Genesect's power." Colress didn't continue chatting with Drayton but instead prepared to collect some real-combat data for Genesect.
Although the revival of Genesect had been successful for some time, no actual combat experiments had been conducted yet. Because the Team Plasma members in his base were not qualified to be experimental subjects for Genesect.
"If I capture you, I'll probably earn a lot of merit." Drayton's expression became serious.
"I suppose so, but…" Colress's expression was calm: "You have to be able to do it first."
This entire area had become a battlefield. As a medium-to-large base, the number of Team Plasma members hidden within it was substantial. Although Lacey and the others numbered over thirty, Team Plasma had at least fifty members or more.
Fortunately, Lacey's side generally possessed greater strength, especially the Blueberry Academy Elite Four led by Drayton, and the top ten students. So the battle gradually tilted in favor of Lacey and their group, and the battlefield also gradually expanded outwards. After all, the internal space of the base was not large enough, and many dodged attacks had blasted open walls and other structures.
"The battle is truly intense." Mammon continued to sip his juice, watching the battle below.
One Team Plasma member after another was bound and restrained, while some students whose Pokémon were severely injured acted as guards, looking frustrated.
"Damn it! I should have brought more Potions."
"Tell me about it, sigh, my merit points (crying.jpg)."
"It's all these guys' fault for being so despicable! They actually used Golbat to directly ambush me. If it weren't to Protect me, my Pokémon wouldn't have lost their combat capability."
Several students chatted and excitedly exchanged stories about their recent battle experience. Clearly, such a mission was a completely new and thrilling experience for them!
"Send people to transport these Team Plasma members away." Mammon took out his walkie-talkie and gave instructions.
Subsequently, several Team Rocket members in plain clothes drove a pickup truck over and transported all the restrained Team Plasma members into the truck. Otherwise, they couldn't just hand them over to Jenny, could they? Wouldn't that make attacking this base pointless?
"It's basically taken care of, only…" Mammon roughly tallied the number of Team Plasma members captured so far. He had investigated beforehand that this base had about sixty Team Plasma members, and fifty-one had already been transported away, leaving only about ten, plus the most important one… Colress!
Boom!! A violent explosion sounded, and an Archaludon roared, flying backward like a reversed cannonball, crashing heavily onto the ground.
"Is that Drayton's Archaludon?" Lacey, who had just apprehended a Team Plasma member, was stunned when she saw the Archaludon, because it was Drayton's!
A Salamence quickly flew out, carrying Drayton on its back.
"Drayton, what's going on?" Lacey quickly asked Drayton, noticing that Drayton's expression was very grim at the moment.
"There's a Team Plasma researcher whose strength is extremely high." Drayton glanced at the heavily injured Archaludon and replied in a deep voice.
"Even you're not an opponent?" Lacey frowned.
Tap Tap Tap~
Leisurely footsteps slowly approached. From the shattered warehouse entrance, the handsome, golden-haired Dark Scientist slowly stepped out. The strongest hunter from 300 million years ago had transformed into a disc shape, floating by his side.
"Ah~ Are they all enemies? What useless subordinates." The Dark Scientist surveyed his surroundings, hands in his pockets, his tone indifferent. His white trench coat remained spotless, and his handsome face was calm.
From his appearance and demeanor alone, one would never guess that such a person was a dangerous individual highly wanted by the Unova League.
"Colress!" Mammon looked at the young researcher, a slow smile spreading across his lips. That's right, his most important objective in coming to this base was the Dark Scientist before him.
The Team Plasma boss from Black 2, primarily a researcher, even created high-tech capable of controlling Kyurem. And even though his secondary profession was scientist, his Trainer strength was still Champion, meaning Colress's talent was among the best in the entire Pokémon world.
A police siren suddenly wailed in the distance. Several police cars sped over, and Jenny and Elesa stepped out of them.
"Huh? Jenny are here." Crispin blinked.
"I've received Mammon's instructions; everyone can retreat." Lacey glanced at her beeping phone, hesitated for a moment, then immediately organized her classmates. It had been stated beforehand that they must obey orders when operating outside.
"Mammon, is he okay?" Drayton was a bit doubtful.
"Mammon is super strong, don't worry, let's go." Lacey, however, had great confidence in Mammon.
The few of them quietly started to run away. Jenny and the others naturally noticed but tacitly allowed it. They were actually also hesitating whether they should retreat, as they were completely no match for Colress.
And unknowingly, the originally clear sky had begun to be covered by dark clouds, with blue lightning constantly flashing within them.
"So it's him, that Ghetsis fellow." Colress looked up at the sky, chuckling softly. With such thunderclouds, he knew who was coming without even thinking.
The Black Dragon, Zekrom!
That Ghetsis fellow really did value him, but that made sense; his talent was very important to Ghetsis. Colress smiled faintly, but his eyes caught sight of something not far away.
A black-clad, black-haired young man, accompanied by two young women, slowly walked towards him. Who was this again?
