A masked figure stood by Sous that evening in the southern quarter of Red Woods. It was a section near the humans and one of the many sections taken from a species by the wolves of Apex.
The masked figured was Monica. She waved her wand around creating apartment units to house the vampires. The wolves had gathered around them to shout words of violence and profanity at them, but they were all too weak to challenge Sous.
That same evening, the vampires came with their belongings. The wolves still out, still yelling at them to go back to the mines, to go back home. The wolves were ignorant though, because this was the vampires home before their exile.
Sous walked to the patriach Zonsky. "It will take time before they get used to you. Not your choice but you've been gone for hundreds of years, even the humans forgotten of your presence."
Monica pointed her wand toward the sky and a seal formed. It lighted up bright purple and dispersed into many particles.
"The seal my assistant put up," Sous said although Monica's eyebrow twitched behind the mask she was wearing, "put up that seal to let people know this is a free area of Red Woods. What this means is you and every other species can move within this area."
Monica would see to it that an engineer wizard came and did the water and sewage system as well as the electricity.
She took Sous to the side. "The council of Red Woods has been taken over completely by wolves. No human has won a seat on the council for three years."
"What about the humans?"
"They're being pushed out," Monica said.
"But how, they have weapons and technology," Sous said, confused by this turn of events. It was used to be unheard of for wolves or any specie to out do the humans.
"Two years ago, the council made into law that silver bullets were illegal and anyone caught would face punishment. They spread lies about how silver bullets causes pregnant mothers to give birth to sick babies and that's all the humans needed."
Sous bit her bottom lip. Should she present herself to the council with a negotiation or simply kill them all?
"Should I try and help the humans?"
"I will," Monica said. "You need to get back to school."
Sous was now taller than the Omegress and with that, Monica was able to see just how much potential Sous had. She led this venture with such ease and focus, that it was admirable.
"My mother is in the brothels. Do you think you could get me a map of all the projects the elites were working on?"
Monica had no idea Sous' mother was in the brothels. Up until this point, she had no idea Apex dabbled in that industry. She suddenly felt sick to her stomach.
"I was told that Zhiliary had gotten numerous people pregnant. You should see if Doureena has as well."
Hearing those words nearly broke Doureena in two. She always thought their relationship was truly build on love and trust. But if Doureena was mating with others...Monica didn't want to think of it.
Sous waved her arms and called out, "Tilkalde!" Little baby basilisk puffed from smoke. He rose to his full length, his eyes red and beaming. Sous sat upon his head and yelled out to the wolves below. "Don't be stupid. He'll turn you into stone!" Sous then proceeded to stand on little baby basilisk and shake her butt at the wolves. The vampires and Monica clearly unimpressed.
Little baby basilisk soared on the ground through the trees and dense forest. He eventually passed the boarder with such swiftness, the guards had no idea Sous was upon him.
A howl was heard in the distance. Sous looked out and saw Randali upon her large wolf running their way.
The two large beast traveled along side one another with Faye threading in between them. She landed on top of Randali's wolf and rode behind her.
"I thought y'all went back to campus!" Sous yelled out, the wind carrying her voice.
"We wanted to wait around a little bit so we crossed the border and Randali listened out for any distress from you," Faye exclaimed.
"You're not riding your zombies!" Sous joked.
"Zombies aren't meant for riding but for dragging corrupt souls to the under world." Faye answered, smiling at Sous.
The wolf and the large snake made their way back to campus. Both went up into smoke when Sous and her friends descended onto the land.
Tany ran out the front entrance in her pajamas and engulf Sous into a hug.
"How'd you know when I'd be back?"
Tany didn't say anything to Sous' question. She simply pointed her index finger to the sky. Sous looked up and saw Icarus circling around them. A sweat drop came over, how could she miss him that entire time?
The next day the three girls went to their summoning class to find one of the students crying. Sous recognized right away it was the boy who summoned the grim. While Faye and Randali sat in their seats as the other students piled in, Sous walked over to the boy.
"Are you okay?" She placed a hand on his shoulder.
He looked at her, snot coming from his nose, eyes were puffy and red. "My grandma died. She was all I had since my parents died. Now I got no one."
"Well," Sous said awkwardly as she patted the boy on the top of the head. "If you're ever lonely or needing someone to talk to, you can hang with me and my friends." The instructor walked into the class ready to go. Sous turned to the boy once more. "I'm very excited to see who you summon today."
Two weeks had gone by and Sous with the help of her friends traveled back to Red Woods to check the progress of the vampires and the humans.
The large wolf stepped into town, its paws causing vibration among the ground. The wolves looked up at Randali while Sous slithered in on little baby basilisk.
The three girls jumped down and walked through the southern potion of Red Woods and saw a mixture of wolves, vampires, and even humans!
A lot of the wolves seemed to be not interested in integrating though. Sous walked to one store that had a sign on its door that read: NoVampires, Humans Allowed.
Sous took the sign down and walked inside. She threw it at the employee and said, "You service everyone or you service no one." The wolf gulped, nodding his head quickly.
A group of vampire teens walked past the girls. "Hey, y'all out during the day?" Faye asked.
"The cloaking spells are cheaper here plus there are many witches near by who live amongst the humans." The vampire girl answered.
"This is great, Sous," Randali said, hugging her friend.
"I know...this is what I want for Red Woods. For us to all come back like this. Take my place of Doureena and rule Apex."
"Well aren't you smug." Sous and her friends turned to see Doureena leaning against a pillar of one of the stores with an apple in her hand. She bit the apple and appoarched Sous still standing above the fourteen year old. "Beautiful." She said sarcastically looking at all the different species now living in the southern region of Red Woods.
Sous chuckled. "You told Monica about them brothels you running?"
"You told Diamond's family about killing him?"
"I give two shits about that man and his family," Sous said, a darkness Doureena hadn't seen before. She looked into Sous' eyes, visibly seeing this child was growing and so was her desire to take this pack and build it in her image.
"Just like you gave two shits about my father and his family." Sous beared her canines at Doureena and stepped to her, the Alpha not stepping down. "You better hope I don't find out you touched my mother."
Doureena smirked and walked away from Sous.
"Why didn't you kill her?" Randali asked when she thought Doureena was out of ear shot.
"Because I'm not ready to take over the pack yet and I can sense that she's still stronger than me." Sous answered.
A group of bats came around the three girls and Zonsky appeared. He handed the girls three soda cans. "Have some soda. Its on me!"
