Leo ran along side the walls of the blood supply store. He dipped into the street trying to out run the vampires who chased after him. He didn't noticed when they dispersed into bats and began to surround him.
They picked him up and threw him on the ground. The bags of blood that was in his hands fell to the ground.
He tried to grab them but the bats transformed into their whole self. One of the vampires, the owner of the store, picked Leo up. He stood the small vampire on his two feet and punched him.
Leo fell hard onto the ground, into a puddle of mud. The other vampires began to beat him as well. One kicked him, another one stomped on his head.
They continued to pull him to his feat and then punch the boy, splitting his lip and making both of his eyes turn black.
One of the adult vampires grabbed Leo by the hair and pulled his head so far back, the little vampire thought his neck would snap.
The vampire pulling onto Leo's hair, knocked him in the throat, causing him to choke on his own muscle reflex.
Leo fell to the ground crying, pleading for them to start.
"I'm sorry, please, I'm just hungry, please-AGH!"
Little Leo was kicked in the mouth, his baby teeth getting knocked from his head.
"Where the fuck are your parents," the owner of the store asked.
Leo struggled to see with his own blood getting into his eyes. He turnt his head in the direction of where he heard the voice. "I don't have any."
"Oh, he's a street kid." Another said.
The owner spit onto the street, not a single person who witness the child being beat did anything. They simply continued to walk on by.
The owner took the boy by the arm and led him back to the store. Leo was taken down into the celler of the store where he saw large barrels.
The owner grabbed Leo's head and forced him to look at the inventory. "What do you think this is, boy?"
The boy shrugged his shoulders, not knowing. The other vampires laughed when they heard the boy's stomach growling.
"Its blood. If you want to eat then work for me. I'll give you food and a place to lay your head."
The owner of the store stepped back and stood along side his co-workers. Leo looked at the owner and then at the kegs that stood in the celler.
The boy didn't have much of a choice. This one seemed like a better offer than what he had before so Leo walked to the owner and nodded his head.
Grim was a small town that sat on the edge of Conaska. It was apart of the Conaska country but relatively the people of Grim kept to themselves. That was because they were vampires while majority of Conaska were humans and wolves.
Wolves were known for being the natural enemy of vampires and humans, known for being the natural food source of vampires. It was a grim situation; hence the name upon being founded.
Leo was put to work right away. The very next day, he was to work along side a few other children, seven other children, making the total eight. Together they would lead excursions toward the inner portion of Conaska to obtain blood, human blood.
Human blood was mostly outlawed in most countries; however, it still made for a fine delicacy.
On the black market, human blood could go for any amount of money but the starting point was usually 500,000 lars.
The owner stood with the eight vampire children at the train station. The train station they were at was known for having a route that started in Nadia, went to Hacate, came up toward Vania, then toward Conaska.
Once the train stopped in Conaska, majority if not all the passengers were always humans.
The owner purchased the tickets and gave them to the eight children, including Leo. He then handed them a keg.
A keg was rather heavy so instead of giving the children numerous kegs and come off suspicious, it was wiser to just give them one.
"Alright, so you know what you got to do?" The owner asked in Den Den.
The children nodded their head.
The owner patted each of their heads and waited with them as the train came to a stop on the platform. After showing the assistant their tickets, the eight vampire children were able to board the train.
These seven children that Leo often went on excursions with eventually and with time became like his brothers and sister. They spent most of their time together and had the same upbringing of having no parents, and having to steal blood to survive.
They all appreciated what the owner of the store did for them and as they aged up, Leo and the gang or what some call, his cronies took on even more and more kegs.
The first time Leo did a killing, it shocked him, and he felt disgusted but the owner of the blood supply store was right: human blood was the tastiest.
And for years they did this. They got tickets for the train and they would kill or kidnap a few to several humans for their blood. Of course, they would just be reported as missing or dead on arrival, depending on if they took the bodies or left the bodies, and they would be able to do it again some months later when things cooled down.
Soon Leo was able to get the position of lead vampire of the group and it was him who was calling out the shots, directing his teammates on where to go and what to do.
And it was at that instance that Leo made a horrible choice. He got cocky and thought they could take all the blood from as many humans as they wanted. That they would stop the train, suck the blood, fill the kegs, and be on their way.
Leo had underestimated that three children and a princess would be on the train.
Before, his eyes stood the Princess of Conaska, Petun, just as beautiful as ever. The same princess who was thought of as missing or worst, dead, just some years back.
His friends- his brothers and sister were dead. He had come so far only to end up with his arms sliced and a couple of blades through the heart.
Leo's body along with the other vampires except for Darius who's body know one could find, was thrown out into the snow. Once the sun rose, Leo and his comrades bodies descendicrated into ash.
The train situation caused a sight for many of the residents of Conaska. For those who were nearby, they came to see the sight such as the owner of the blood supply store from Grim.
He was much older now and was known as the patriach of Grim so he had many, many years to give still. He stood in the sun watching his adoptive children rise to the sky. They only worked at night so he had never bother to cloak any of them. And even he only did it to himself once just so he could see his children off.
Sous stood in the alchemy lab the palace set up for her, Tany, and Fae. She stirred the potion and handed it to Tany.
Little Poop sat on a stool with her handmaidens surrounding her. She was eating a cracker that Sous snatched away from her.
"Alright, Fattie Two Shoes, are you ready?" Sous asked.
Little Poop nodded her head.
Sous looked at Tany and nodded her head, giving the green light for Tany to give Little Poop the potion.
Faye say over on a chair watching along side journalist and newscasters all waiting to see what would happen. Waiting to see what happened especially she, herself, rarely paid attention in alchemy class. A sweat drop appeared over her head and she tried to not think of class at the moment.
Tany helped Little Poop drink the potion, all the substance was gone within a minute before Tany stepped back. She placed the glass on the table and waited. They all waited.
Little Poop let out a burp.
Her ears began to change, her body began to morph, she grew taller, her tail disappeared and-and there she was. The princess back in her human form!
Sous was about to start clapping but then all the camera flashes started to go over and the journalist started to immediately ask questions.
Sous stumbled back a bit but was propped up by Faye. The priestess stood behind Sous while Tany walked to them. The three girls watched the interviews unfold, happy with themselves for being able to accomplish such a task.
"The three sisters are going to be so happy!" Tany squealed. She jumped and down at her achievements.
"You should try and see if this same potion recipe will work on Icarus." Sous suggested.
Tany stopped jumping up and down and looked at Sous. "He still hasn't told us why the witch turned him in the first place."
"Maybe he'll tell you once turn him back into a human." Faye added.
Tany gave both girls a look indicating she was clearly skeptical. She would talk it over with the three sisters once they got back to school.
Tany put her focus on Faye. "So...are we gonna talk about you bringing the dead up from the ground?"
"Whoa, what?!" Sous asked completely left in the dark.
Faye gave a small smile while running her fingers through her cornrows.
