Chapter 132: The Battle Reignites
Kaido's words made Yelena fall silent for a long time.
In the end, Yelena's expression returned to its icy state, and her body slowly grew taller. The skin on her face was once again replaced by a bone-white skull, and grotesque, twisted antlers sprouted from her head.
Yelena, having re-entered her hybrid-beast form, her scarlet eyes moved slightly, staring intently at Kaido's somewhat ferocious face.
"We will not join your crew."
"If there's nothing else, you can leave."
Kaido heard her, casually lifted his Hassaikai onto his shoulder, and a malicious smile appeared on his twisted face. "That's not for you to decide!"
To this, Yelena's face was incomparably calm, her tone devoid of any fear. "I'm just informing you. Don't think that everyone has to go along with your wishes. Stop trying to unilaterally interfere in other people's lives! Kaido of the Beasts!"
As her words fell, a majestic Conqueror's Haki burst forth from her body, kicking up a terrifying storm out of thin air that continuously bombarded Kaido.
"Conqueror's Haki?!" The disgraceful Perospero's eyes widened as he muttered to himself.
But Katakuri, Momousagi, and Chaton showed no surprise. They didn't seem shocked that she possessed Conqueror's Haki.
Kaido was also not surprised that Yelena had Conqueror's Haki. But her words had ignited the flames of anger in his heart. "You're going to defy me too?!"
The next moment, the Conqueror's Haki from one of the world's pinnacle figures erupted violently. It instantly suppressed Yelena's Haki, forcing her to grit her teeth and hold on. With a sound like the sky falling, the powerful Conqueror's Haki pierced through the entire glacier. Streaks of black and red lightning filled the sky and rained down, blasting huge, deep pits in the ice. The distant sea surface churned up waves out of thin air, which spread rapidly away from the glacier.
On the glacier, a burly figure sitting cross-legged on an iceberg slowly turned his head to look in the direction of the Conqueror's Haki source, lost in thought. Beside him, Kuina, who was about to head to another area to find a Marine swordsman, was taken aback. "That seems to be Yelena's direction," she said subconsciously.
Amit heard her and, waking from his contemplation, picked up his bone spear and slowly stood up. He had an impression of the name Yelena. Back when Louis had not been active on the sea for long, he had mentioned this name to him.
After glancing in Louis's direction, Amit spread the wings on his back, rose into the air, and disappeared from Kuina's side.
In the blood-red world, Kaido of the Beasts carried his kanabō and walked step by step, his face grim as he strode toward Yelena.
"Your own thoughts?"
"More of that meaningless stuff. You just need to follow my will and help me achieve my dream. That's enough."
The conversation didn't last long before Kaido's cruel and ruthless nature was completely exposed.
Yelena, who was somewhat battered under the suppression of his Conqueror's Haki, gritted her teeth, gripped her war hammer with both hands, and met him head-on without showing any weakness. As she ran, her scarlet eyes trembled violently, the anger within them practically erupting. "I will never help you use violence and oppression to rule over innocent people!"
Yelena had grown up in a place where resources were scarce, where she even had to steal polluted water to drink. Food could only be obtained by her elders risking their lives. At the most difficult times, Yelena couldn't even bear to drink the polluted water, only able to quench her thirst by drinking the blood of her prey while hunting.
When she had learned from Louis what kind of atrocities Kaido of the Beasts had committed in the Land of Wano, she had been stunned and silent for a whole night. To be honest, Yelena had been very disappointed to learn that Kaido was a tyrant no different from the people of Jacob. That such a cruel tyrant was related to her in such a way... As a monarch of a country that had once been oppressed, Yelena hated such behavior.
Yelena charged forward, crossing the rugged ice blocks, almost becoming a blur. She swung her war hammer with both hands, meeting Kaido head-on. The cold war hammer cut through the air, and with the sound of crackling electricity, it smashed heavily onto the Hassaikai, which was also crackling with electric arcs.
CLANG!
The sound of metal clashing exploded. A powerful shockwave, accompanied by intertwining flashes of black and red lightning, burst forth, enveloping an area of several thousand meters. Under the violent collision, the glacier beneath their feet, which was already riddled with fissures, buckled and then disintegrated inch by inch. The entire area for several thousand meters was shattered.
"What?" Kaido's eyes widened, a look of seeing a ghost on his face. "You—"
Kaido was utterly shocked by the move Yelena had replicated in her anger. When he came to his senses and wanted to exert more force to knock her out and take her back, the unexpected happened.
A figure even burlier than Kaido had appeared behind Yelena at some unknown point. A bone-white spear burned, raising a scorching sun, and swung toward the surprised Kaido.
BOOM—
The next second, the searing sun exploded at a fixed point, forming a jet of scorching flame that directly enveloped Kaido of the Beasts. The flame continued to erupt, instantly swallowing him and creating a jet of fire across the ice field that traversed the entire glacier.
This sudden turn of events left the four from the Marines and the Big Mom Pirates unable to react. They felt as if they had become spectators. But soon, their faces became even more strange.
The burly figure standing behind Yelena had a pair of jet-black wings growing from his back. Behind his reddish-brown hair, a searing hot flame burned fiercely. The flames, the black wings, the extremely burly physique—this combination of features made everyone think of one word.
"A Lunarian?!"
Momousagi and Chaton's faces became a little unnatural. They both recalled some of the dark history of the Marines from decades ago.
Unlike the two from the Marines, Perospero of the Big Mom Pirates' eyes were now shining. A Lunarian—one of the only three races missing from Totto Land. If he could bring him back, Mama would surely be overjoyed. However, the jet of flame that had just pierced the entire glacier quickly sobered him up.
Yelena slowly turned her head and took in the nine-meter-tall figure, a hint of surprise in her scarlet eyes.
"Muscle... Amit?"
Amit looked down at Yelena. After some thought, he raised a finger and pointed at the two Marines. "Take their heads... and spines... for me," he said, his voice so hoarse it was hard to distinguish.
Yelena was taken aback, then followed his finger and looked at the two Marines, whose faces were unreadable. After taking a deep breath, she nodded lightly. "Alright—"
With that, she no longer paid any attention to Kaido of the Beasts and slowly walked in the direction of the Marines. At the same time, the Anemoi, which had been hovering in mid-air, also slowly approached, moving to circle around her.
Amit looked down at the figure who was bathed in flames yet had not a single wound, a hint of surprise in his slightly cloudy eyes.
In front of him, Kaido looked at the opponent who was covered in blood and gore and was even taller than himself, and a look of excitement appeared in his eyes.
"A Lunarian? So King's race really does have others left. And they're far stronger than King."
Then, Kaido's figure slowly grew taller as he entered his hybrid-beast form. Although this strange Lunarian's Haki was a bit weaker than Linlin's, he was not an opponent that could be easily dealt with in his human or dragon form.
