Clint followed behind, his footsteps quiet but his expression clearly annoyed. He raised an eyebrow as they turned into a hallway where the Duke's room is.
Clint froze.
The Duke didn't.
He kept walking until he reached the room next to his. He stopped there, resting his hand on the doorknob.
"This is your new room," he said calmly, then turned his head only to find Clint still standing several steps away, looking suspicious.
"…What are you doing?" the Duke asked.
Clint let out a breath of relief, casually walking forward like nothing happened. "Nothing."
He opened the door slowly.
The air inside was fresh. Cool. No weird smell. Unlike his former room, which had no windows, just stone walls and barely enough space to walk. That room had a bed so close to the door that one step and you'd already be lying down.
But this… this was different, Clint stepped inside and looked around The room was… spacious.
