Chapter 91 - Chapter 91: Into the Pit Again

Although Ash felt like the system was just throwing another trap his way, he still couldn't resist the temptation of the items on display!

The white-labeled slots were just "Try Again" rewards. But among the remaining six options, three were golden Full Restore Capsules, and one was a black-tier Level 3 Legendary Encounter Card!

There were also two red-tier items: a Super Racing Marshmallow SR and a Complete Drift Techniques Manual.

As for the blue-tier items, they included a Desert Eagle with 30 bullets and a Sniper Rifle with 10 bullets.

Looking at the roulette, Ash's eyes were drawn mostly to the golden and black-tier items. The rest weren't all that appealing. He wasn't currently interested in catching many Pokémon. The red items were more suited for race car drivers—completely useless to him. And the blue ones? Guns? Come on. If it came to firepower, he could rely on the strength of the Dragon Clan!

"Damn it, if only the number of draws wasn't limited! I'd hoard all three of those Full Restore Capsules!" Ash muttered, staring regretfully at his 30,000+ attribute points.

These Full Restore Capsules were a cut above anything else—they didn't just flush out impurities from the body. They could greatly enhance physical strength and extend one's lifespan by thirty years! Just imagining the effects had Ash practically drooling.

Without hesitation, he yanked the lever five times in a row. The roulette began to spin at an incredible speed, making Ash's eyes blur just watching it.

"Ding~!"

[Congratulations, Host! You received a white-tier item. Please try again!]

"Seriously?! What the hell!" Ash cursed. Out of five spins, he only got one red item—and it was something utterly useless in the Pokémon world!

Of course, what Ash didn't realize was that this world wasn't just limited to the Pokémon setting—it was a fusion with real-world dimensions. Trainers were the mainstream, yes, but there were also racers, celebrities, and people from all walks of life. Almost everything imaginable existed here.

"Ding~!"

[If the Host is dissatisfied with the current roulette pool, you may spend 10 attribute points to refresh it.]

Just as Ash finished ranting, the system's voice returned, nearly causing his blood to boil. He gritted his teeth and growled, "You couldn't have told me that earlier?! I already wasted my spins!"

"Ding~!"

[The system will not provide additional information unless the Host asks or expresses the intent to understand.]

Of course. Typical system behavior—cold, unhelpful, and overly literal. Ash rolled his eyes in exasperation. What could he even say at this point? He'd been thoroughly screwed over.

After burning through 50 points, he still had 30,500 left. Not the worst situation, but it still stung.

Back in reality, Ash was filled with frustration. "So damn expensive. Just like my past life—everything costs money."

He browsed through the system shop. While 30,000 attribute points seemed like a lot, it wasn't nearly enough to spend freely. He'd have to make each choice count.

Suddenly, a sharp pain surged through his body.

"Damn it, not again! The side effects of Cell Activation are intense…" he groaned.

No wonder Uchiha Itachi in the original work had been so sickly despite unlocking the Mangekyō Sharingan early. Using techniques like Susanoo repeatedly tore the body apart.

Ash clenched his teeth as cell after cell burned and ruptured inside him.

"Thank god I didn't use it for long this time… or I'd need another dose of medicine." Half an hour later, the pain finally receded, and Ash collapsed onto the bed, drenched in sweat and breathing heavily.

"Ugh, shower time." Feeling sticky and gross, he stripped off his clothes and made his way to the bathroom.

But as soon as he slipped into the tub, something felt off.

"…Huh?" Ash blinked. "Wait a second… this isn't my room."

Then he noticed the undergarments hanging on the wall.

"Oh crap. This is Sabrina's room!"

His gaze inadvertently drifted toward the lacy black underwear hanging nearby.

"Didn't expect her to wear something so… bold." Though he tried to divert his thoughts, it had been a while since he'd been close to a woman, and he couldn't help but make a few mental remarks.

After finishing the bath and feeling thoroughly refreshed, Ash put on a clean outfit from his backpack and headed down for lunch.

The gym battle was up next.

Although Sabrina's strength was only at the Elite level, Psychic-type Pokémon were notoriously hard to deal with.

With her own psychic abilities boosting her Pokémon's mental output, her team could temporarily reach a power level close to that of a Champion. The buff might only last ten minutes, but that was more than enough to be dangerous.

"Psychic-types, huh?" Ash muttered to himself. "If I remember correctly, in the original series, Sabrina's main Pokémon was Abra, which later evolved into Kadabra. Hmm... What kind of Pokémon should I use against her?"

After changing clothes, Ash lay back on the bed, mulling over which of his Pokémon would be best suited for the upcoming battle. In his opinion, Dragonite and Suicune were strong options—Legendary and pseudo-Legendary, more than enough to handle someone at Sabrina's level.

But then again, his relationship with Sabrina was complicated. It wouldn't be right to go all out with overwhelming power. If he used Dragonite or Suicune, Sabrina might think he was intentionally trying to humiliate her. That wouldn't end well.

With those two options crossed off, Ash finally made up his mind.

"Let's go with Tyranitar—solid stats across the board. He should be able to resist Kadabra's Psychic attacks."

It had been a while since Ash had fought side-by-side with Tyranitar, Venusaur, or Scizor. Especially Venusaur—Ash had high expectations for him. Ever since Venusaur mastered Wood-Style moves, Ash had been eager to see him in a real battle. With his powerful area-of-effect techniques, Venusaur was a force to be reckoned with in group battles.

"Ah, crap! I almost forgot—what happened to all the people in Saffron City?" Ash suddenly sat up, a concerned look crossing his face. "The streets were empty earlier… Don't tell me Sabrina actually turned them into dolls!"

His curiosity piqued and a hint of anxiety creeping in, Ash quickly stood up and left his room. He made his way down the hallway toward Sabrina's room.

Since Ash had taken over Sabrina's own bedroom, she had no choice but to use the guest room. That alone showed how much she valued him. Unfortunately, Ash had no idea just how important he had become to her.
