Chapter 3 - Preperations!

Roy left his room and took a seat at the table right away; they had already made him a plate. There was a cheeseburger with onions, cheese, meat, lettuce, and some sauce on it. There were also some fries to go along with it, and thus, Roy didn't hesitate in the slightest and began eating.

"Man, this is good, isn't it? I can't get enough of tauros beef, though it's a bit expensive." Troy took a large bite of his burger and couldn't help but exclaim.

"It's Lucian; he's really good at seasoning those burgers and fries. Not to mention, the meat is also high quality; this is one of the special lunches or dinners we can eat once or twice a month."

Luna was also impressed; the burgers and fries were seasoned perfectly.

"Hehe, it's all in my calculations and the handiwork of a finger flick." Lucian stroked his chin with a grin across his lips before stuffing some fries in his mouth.

"Hmph! Don't get too arrogant." Luna scoffed and said.

"My arrogance is deserved. Look at my mastery, it has paid off after years of watching videos and practice." Lucian didn't even bother to argue with Luna. He knew this was something worth having some pride in.

"Can you two give it a rest? We're trying to enjoy this food." Troy sighed; these two always found some way to debate or argue.

Roy didn't pay attention to these two; they bickered all the time. As he was eating, Roy's attention turned to the virtual interface. There were three Icons available: Crafting Table, Status, and Task.

Roy checked all three. The status screen icon showed a human icon.

"Let me check the Taskbar and see what needs to be done." Roy immediately clicked the glowing Exclamation Mark.

_____

-Kanto Task-

_____

Roy had caught a Pidgey and a Rattata in the past, but sold them. He was a bit stunned that they counted toward his Task.

"It would seem I have some ways to go before I can complete these tasks." He would have to catch anything he saw that wasn't registered.

As for the Crafting Table Icon, it was a wrench. Once Roy clicked it, it displayed a layout similar to a Minecraft crafting table. There were 9 boxes where one could place the materials to craft something.

"It's an automatic crafter; you just need to have the materials and place them inside." This was a game-changer; Roy wouldn't need to actually do the manual work.

Roy remembered the Blueprint he received earlier. It was a Blueprint for a Shiny Ball, if he remembered correctly.

"I'll have to check that out later." Roy continued to enjoy his food the whole time. He felt good about his future in this world now.

Roy needed to find a way to give his siblings a good starter Pokémon. Professor Oak's laboratory wasn't giving out any starters now. Roy did remember that the Mystic Guild was giving out Pokémon.

'The Mystic Guild. I've seen them on television quite a lot. They are based in Cerulean City and provide support to the authorities in dealing with threats such as Gangs and Team Rocket.'

There was another Guild called Paradise, which used Fairy and Grass-type Pokémon. They were stationed in Celedon City, the most prosperous city in the region.

Roy thought about it. These two guilds were supposed to appear tomorrow and hand out some Pokémon. Unfortunately, they're giving out Pokémon to a select few of 14-16-year-olds.

'None of my siblings or I was chosen for this selection.' There were three guilds in this region: the Mystic Guild, the Paradise Guild, and the Regulas Guild.

The Regulas Guild rarely recruits or gives anything; they were a neutral guild. Roy remembered that Troy had a friend named Aaron. This guy was actually among the three chosen by this guild to be given a Pokémon.

They were a Normal-type Pokémon guild.

'Damn! Unlike the Paradise Guild, which gave out Bellsprout, Oddish, Paras, Exeggcute, and Tangela. Or the Mystic Guild, which gave out Slowpoke, Psyduck, Poliwag, Seel, and Krabby as options; Regulas was different and better.

They offered Tauros, Kangaskhan, Chansey, Snorlax, and Meowth. These Pokémon were an unprecedented start for a trainer.

Thinking about the Regulas Guild picks, Roy's expression was a bit strange. This was no different than giving someone a super head start and maintaining it. These Pokémon were strong in the First Generation and stayed relevant throughout it, though Meowth into Persian might be slightly questionable.

'What a fortunate guy.' Roy couldn't help but think that it was unfair, but that was life.

He had to figure something out, but he wanted to understand which Pokémon his siblings were interested in. After everyone was done eating and his sister Luna was putting away the dishes, Roy spoke.

"Guys, if you could choose what Pokémon you wanted as a Starter, what would it be?" Roy had never asked them this question before. He thought about it, but found it pointless because that dream seemed impossible, so he never brought it up.

Everyone looked over at Roy with surprise. Why would he ask such a random question? But when they thought about it, it was worth talking about.

"I would want to Squirtle, the little turtle Pokémon, to begin with. This Pokémon is amazing and would be my first choice." Lucian was the first to answer and found Squirtle to be his most desired starter.

"I would want a Charmander. This seems like I'm asking too much, but this would be my choice." Troy knew getting a Charmander was a pipe dream, but if he could find one, that would be amazing.

"I want a Clefairy, it's so cute and beautiful. I read that these Pokémon could be found in Mt. Moon, but were extremely rare."

Luna sighed after speaking. Why was there such a big difference in fate between people? She really wanted this little Pink Pokémon, but how could it be acquired for someone like her?

Roy was stunned; he never could have imagined that his siblings could dream so big. A Charmander, a Squirtle, and a Clefairy? What villager would dare dream so big?!

"That's interesting." That's all Roy could say.

"What about you, Roy? What Pokémon do you want to have?" Luna asked before stuffing some fries in her mouth.

"Hmm, I don't know." Of course, Roy knew what Pokémon he wanted.

"Well, I guess that makes sense; you've been busy and haven't had time to think about it." Troy and the rest didn't think much about it and changed the topic.

An hour later, everyone had put their dishes away and gone to their rooms. While in his room, Roy checked the Shiny Ball Blueprint.

"This Blueprint would allow me to craft a type of Poké Ball that increases the catch rate on Shiny Pokémon." This Blueprint wasn't the most useful. What were the odds of encountering a Shiny Pokémon?

Roy checked the material required to craft this Poké Ball.

This was the way of adding them to the crafting table (Minecraft style).

Spectrum Alloy was created by Silph Co and was sold on the market. Unlike standard Apricorns, it refracts light and energy, making it sensitive to color and aura differences. This would act as the core shell of the ball.

Roy placed the Blueprint back into his storage. He wasn't sure when he'd need this, but Roy would surely make one just in case he had a fated encounter.

"I should change the Pokédexes I acquired, appearances. The system gave me 5 exactly, this is enough to give one to each of my siblings." The number was a little too near perfect; it was as if the system knew his goals and wanted to lend him a hand.

Roy changed the Pokédexes to different colors. One was Black and White, one was Pink and White, one was Blue, Black and White, and the last one stayed Red, White and Black. As for the fifth one, it stayed its generic color as well.

The Black and White one was his Pokédex, while the Pink one belonged to Luna, the Red, Black, and White one belonged to Troy, and the Blue, Black, and White one would belong to Lucian.

Roy needed to register these Pokedexes so they could be assigned phone numbers. After stretching for a bit, Roy lay on his bed and decided to take a nap.

Time passed by gracefully; by the time Roy had awakened, four hours had passed. Roy woke up, stretched, and pulled out his Pokédex. The Pokédex had apps, but no internet connection; thus, he couldn't access the internet.

"We don't have internet in this house, so we usually go to the library to get anything done." Roy couldn't even access important apps from the app store without an internet connection.

"It seems I'll have to buy an Internet SD Card." These cost ₽100, which is equivalent to 100 dollars back in his old world.

Roy had a bold idea: what if he sold one Master Ball? He pulled out a Master Ball, the Legendary Ball of Pokémon. It sat in his palm in its shrunken state, but Roy suddenly thought of something.

He pulled up the crafting table and understood what he could do. Roy could repaint the Master Balls he planned to keep, so they wouldn't be too high-profile. As for the Master Ball he wanted to sell, he had to find a way to sell it safely.

Roy decided to get up and leave the house for the Pokézone. At the Pokézone, Roy could buy an Internet SD Card. He quickly left the house. Roy could move faster than usual thanks to Aura.

"Here we are, let's buy the SD Card." This money was important, and he was spending it. He said to himself that he'd make up for it.

Roy quickly bought the SD Card and left the building. This place could also be used to trade with people from across the region. There was a Regional Trade Network and Fossil Revival area here.

This wasn't even the highest-quality SD card; it was mid-tier. The lowest-quality SD Card costs ₽10, while the highest-quality SD Card costs ₽1,000.

At this time, the sun is still sitting high in the sky, and it's around 5 PM. Upon getting home, Roy headed to his room and placed the SD Card into his Pokédex.

Afterward, Roy quickly had access to the internet. He went to Virtualtube.com, where he saw some gym leader battles, battle tower battles, and basic tutorial videos on how to catch certain Pokémon.

Roy watched videos related to the Gym Leader battles, like Brock and Misty. The people recording them were people in the audience.

A lot of people didn't have it easy against Brock. Against novice trainers, Brock didn't simply use the standard Geodude and Onix. Sometimes, he used Kabuto, Omanyte, and Rhyhorn.

On very rare occasions, Brock even used Kleavor in battle. Roy watched many battle videos for hours until it was time for dinner.

Roy had to make sure he signed in at twelve today.
