As Roy continued watching the loading screen, he heard his brother, Lucian, at the door. He only mentioned that dinner was almost ready.

Important Note: When signing in, the host will never receive Pokémon as a sign-in reward. The Only rewards are: Berries, Held Items, Poké Balls, Custom Items, Tailored Items, TMs, Blueprints, and other Utility Items related to the Pokémon World.

The Sign-in System didn't speak; it communicated only through words that appeared on a system screen.
"Yes, sign me into the Kanto Region." Roy didn't hesitate.

[Congratulations, you've received: Silver Candy (x3)]

These items didn't go to his storage space; instead, they landed on his bed.
"T-this is really good!" Roy read the notifications and turned to his bed in joy.
These items were really good and could be considered powerful. There were some items that Roy didn't recognize; these items shouldn't exist in the Pokémon world.
Getting Master Balls was one of the best things he could have landed here. He had to be careful about these items; they would surely cause a storm in the Kanto region if people found out.
"These other items must be custom items from the Sign-in System. This is fine, but what do they do?" Right as Roy asked this question, information surged into his mind, and Roy understood.
The Sign In System could evaluate Items, People, Pokémon, Berries, and these unknown items.
The Aura Control caught his attention; this was a way to defend himself.
Aura Control(Beginner): The ability to manipulate the life force known as aura. Depending on one's attainment, Aura can be used in many ways.
"This is incredible!" Aura could allow him to defend himself, as he had guessed. This was the Aura from the Pokémon series and manga.
Roy saw Aura Control, but it came in the form of a marble-shaped item. Apparently, it was a consumable that would allow him to awaken Aura.
"This Aura could improve my personal strength in battle, which is always welcomed." The Aura Control consumable was blue in coloration and radiated a blue tint of energy.
"Now, that's convenient. What do these unknown Candies do?" Roy turned to the Candies with interest.
-Bronze Candy: This Candy holds large amounts of energy, which can boost the aptitude of any Pokémon by 1 minor level.
-Silver Candy: This Candy holds large amounts of energy, which can boost the aptitude of any Pokémon by 2 minor levels.
-Gold Candy: This Candy holds large amounts of energy, which can boost the aptitude of any Pokémon by a whole rank.
These candies are unprecedented. If I were to sell one, I would make a killing!" These candies would make people go crazy, and Roy knew this for sure. Aptitude was important in the Pokémon world. Aptitude was the difference between an expert and a rookie if left unchecked.
"I can't sell these outright; it would surely draw unwanted attention." Roy had to find a way to sell them in secret. However, before that, he would rather use them on his own Pokemon first.
As for Aptitudes, they were ranked from weakest to strongest.
-Shallow Red, Red, Ruby Red,
-Shallow Orange, Orange, Topaz Orange,
-Shallow Yellow, Yellow, Citrine Yellow,
-Shallow Green, Green, Emerald Green,
-Cyan, Blue, Sapphire Blue,

Most Pokémon found in the wild were Shallow Red or sometimes Red. Someone would be considered fortunate to find a Ruby Red, Shallow Orange, or Higher Pokémon in the wild.
"The System won't give me Pokémon for signing in. I need to find a way to get a starter Pokémon for myself and my family." Roy was doing alright; it wasn't a super strong start, but his family members needed more help.
Roy first needed to know what Pokémon his three siblings would want.
"The other question is how I would even get my hands on them." The only Pokémon around here, on these Routes, were the typical and/or casual Pokémon.
The only decent Pokémon, at least, according to base stats and stat distribution, was Bellsprout into Victreebel. There was Rattata into Raticate, and Pidgey into Pidgeot.
"Most trainers and/or teens in this area started with these Pokémon. Bellsprout is a highly popular choice among these Pokémon. Unfortunately, this guy was slippery and hard to find, but not hard to catch if prepared."
Of course, there were Pokémon like Pidgey, which was the next best option. Pidgey actually scaled pretty well in this generation. People would rather not use Rattata, but some didn't care or didn't have a choice.
"Bellsprout is good against Brock, Misty to a degree, Surge, and Erica to an extent." Would he have to catch a Bellsprout? Honestly, Roy didn't want this Pokémon on his team.
"Activate the System Space." The System Space activation didn't come as a consumable; it was part of the system. Once it was activated, Roy saw a line of words stating that it was online.
"The Bronze, Silver, and Gold Candies are wrapped in their assigned wrapper color. Rare candies or any candies are artificially created." While these colored candies boosted aptitude, the Rare candies boosted tiers (level, in simple terms).
"I don't have a Pokémon to use them on. I need to figure out how to get a Pokémon." Roy didn't want just any Pokémon; he wanted something good.
"I also need to get my other three siblings a Pokémon before their journey begins next week." His brother Troy wanted to leave sooner than that, but things might not work out.
Roy turned to the Aura Control 'Candy', or whatever it may be. Without hesitation, Roy consumed it.
"What is this?" Roy immediately felt energy fill his body. His strength grew and expanded as tints of blue energy circulated around and throughout his body.
"That ball reminds me of those cultivation novels, the pills from alchemy." Roy had read a few of such novels; perhaps they were involved, who could say?
Roy concentrated, and a small ball of Aura appeared in the palm of his hand.
"Haha! This is insane! I need to practice this Aura more in the future." Roy found that he could channel aura through his eyes as well. It allowed him to see far, hear from a distance, etc. His overall senses and physique had increased.
"I won't have to worry about average people bringing harm to me." A lot of people were average, but of course, superhumans existed; they never surpassed Pokémon in terms of strength or firepower.
"Let's see." Roy pulled up the virtual screen and saw a flashing ethereal exclamation mark.
Clicking the exclamation mark, he saw three locations lighting up on a map. This was a map of Pallet Town, which revealed every location within it.
"These are the sign-in locations for this town; there are only three of them. I can sign in to these places once a day." Roy also noticed that there was a limit to how much he could sign in per location.
"The three locations are Professor Oak's Lab, the Black Market, which is small, and the South Sea."
Roy saw that he could sign into the South Sea three times before he couldn't anymore. He could sign into the Black Market three times before he couldn't anymore, and four times into Professor Oak's Lab before he couldn't anymore.
....
"Even though I signed in just now, I can still sign in today." Roy's eyes squinted. He quickly got up and left his room. The sign-in system resets for a sign-in at 12 am midnight.
"I need to do this before that time, so I can sign in again at that time." The easiest location was the South Sea. Roy knew of this place; it was where you could usually catch Tangela in the game.
Leaving his room, Roy saw his family cooking and sitting in the kitchen.
"Huh? Where are you going, Roy?" His sister Luna hurriedly asked.
"I'm going to the South Docks to look around. I'll be right back." Roy didn't stay for further questioning and left the house in a hurry.
After leaving, Roy stopped in his tracks. The South Docks were easy to access; it was something he could go to at any time.
"I should go to Professor Oak's lab first. This place should provide better things compared to the other locations."
Roy turned and walked to Professor Oak's lab instead. He didn't run; there was no need to rush. It was only around 1 PM.
Upon arriving, Roy saw that the lab was situated up a hill. One would need to take a specific, already-carved-out pathway to reach the entrance.
Professor Oak was currently on vacation in Alola, unfortunately. Only his assistants were currently working in the lab.
Roy walked up to the lab door and simply walked inside. Surprisingly, the door was unlocked, which reminded Roy of a game to some degree.
Suddenly, Roy saw a prompt.
[Would you like to sign in to Professor Oak's lab?]
"Sign in!" Roy said before quickly running out of the door and leaving. He didn't even have time to see what rewards he had earned.
Roy ran straight home. Right as he left, a few assistants close by looked over in astonishment.
"What was that kid doing? He just entered the place before rushing back out." One of the assistants was confused.
"Maybe he ran into the wrong building or something."
"No way, everyone knows this is Professor Oak's lab. The signboard says as such, so there's no way. Not just that, everyone knows this is his Lab, unless you live under a rock."
Hearing this, everyone was confused but couldn't be bothered to chase the boy as he was long gone. Not just that, what surprised them was how fast Roy had moved. Could a normal human move that fast?

Roy ran until he reached his house and ran to his room. He didn't even greet his siblings when he entered the door.
Roy checked and saw the notification, which was still on the screen.
[Congratulations, you've received: Pokédex (x5)]
"This will be useful for keeping records and calls. I was even able to get five of them, which is perfect." Roy looked down and noticed a footnote on the system panel.
Note: Rewards will be doubled and significantly better for the starter zone(Pallet Town) until reaching the next city.
"That's why! It will go to basic sign-ins after leaving Pallet Town." Roy grinned before gazing at the Pokédexes floating on the Interface.
Roy observed that he could modify their colors in the interface. Nevertheless, once he altered the colors, they would keep that look permanently. Roy had also spotted two icons in a sidebar: one labeled Status, Task, and Crafting Table.
"Roy, the food is ready, come and get it while it's hot!" Before Roy could click these icons, he heard his brother Lucian at the door.
"I guess I can check them later to see what they are." Roy got out of bed and left his room for the kitchen.
