A soft tune begins playing on the speakers, and we begin swaying our bodies gently to the music.
Chelle snakes her arms around my neck, lowering her voice, "You still love me, don't you? I know you do."
My eyes widen slightly, my heart skipping multiple beats. She's not wrong, I still do.
I look away, avoiding her question, "Don't ask me silly questions."
She chuckles, "You're such a baby. I only told you we should take a break, and you immediately find a pretend girlfriend to get back at me? Really, Kael?"
"If you loved me so much, why would you want to take a break? Didn't I treat you well?"
She exhales, "It was becoming exhausting, and I needed to focus on my modeling. I can't let opportunities slip away from me like that."
I dig my teeth into my lower lip to stop myself from cursing at her.
"Just give me a month. I'll come back to you, okay?"
"But you already have a boyfriend. You just want to dump him?"
