Sylvara's mother, Nerissa, stood outside the door of Sylvara's room. The sun had long risen up into the sky, yet she hadn't come out for breakfast.
Her door was locked from inside, so her maids couldn't even reach her.
"Is she still sleeping? Sylvara is never the type to sleep in," she muttered, before knocking on the door.
"Sylvara dear? Can you hear me? Please wake up already. It's getting late."
No response.
"Dear? Can you hear me?" She called out again, knocking a little harder.
"What's going on?" She narrowed her eyes.
Feeling perturbed, she rushed back to the dining room, her feet barely touching the floor.
"Your majesty," she called for her husband, "I don't know what's wrong with Sylvara, she's not the type to sleep in, and she won't open the door when I tell her to."
The king, Nelson, immediately hurried off to Sylvara's room.
"Sylvara? Why won't you answer your mother?" He demanded, banging on her door.
Still there was no response.
