1 Piece AU Luffy Charlotte

"Perospero-nii-san is doing something important with Mama for now and it's my turn to watch the babies tonight. Do you mind taking him for the night Amande-nii-san?" Brulee asked after having left for a little while to find her eldest brother and ask him about watching Luffy for the night. She had instead come across him and their mother hugging and their mother was near crying, something which stunned Brulee motionless for a moment before she quietly left to give them privacy.
"Not at all." Amande said lighting up another cigarette and making Luffy and Pudding look up at her as Monte-d'Or dismissed them after teaching Luffy a few easy to read sentences and even easier to write ones. He'd start on harder things tomorrow after coming up with a lesson plan that would help combat Luffy's apparent hard time thinking. Something the snake-neck woman wasn't sure was the fault of his rubber powers interfering with his brain or the fault of his grandfather repeatedly hitting his head.
"Can I sleep in your bed too Amande-nee-san?" Pudding asked and Amande immediately gave her little sister a pat on the head and a small smile.
"Of course you can Pudding-chan. I know things must have been scary for you today. Don't worry. Big sister will scare away all the nightmares." Amande said and she knew firsthand how scary it is to be grabbed by slave traders and nearly sold or…broken in. Even if her triplet sisters hadn't insisted on all sleeping together in a bed big enough for all four of them, Amande would have probably been sleeping over with one of them anyways. And she had been almost fourteen when she that had happened to her. She couldn't imagine how scared Pudding would be at the age of six if she was left alone.
"You'll be staying with me and Pudding-chan tonight Luffy-kun." Amande said to the boy who looked completely fine and even happy with that.
"Thanks! I hate being alone! It hurts worse than being stabbed or hit by Jiji." Luffy said and Amande tried not to think of how often the boy must have been alone or lonely for him to hate it so much. Brulee grimaced and clenched her fists at her side but said nothing. Giving her younger sister a look, Amande nodded for Brulee to go ahead and go. She knew the mirror woman was missing her twin sister and likely wanted to vent about all of todays events to Broye.
Both women tried not to think about how much of a hell being alone on the slave traders ship for a year was for the boy. It wasn't working.
"Well there's no need to worry. You aren't going to be alone while here." Amande said reaching over to pat his head as well and making him blink up at her for a second before he beamed while nudging his head up into her hand. Amande smiled slightly at the beaming boy who was near demanding more head pats with how insistently he was butting his head into her hand.
He was kind of cute for not being one of her little brothers or sisters.
"I need to call Mondee-nee and let her know she'll be in charge of Nuts Island for a day or two so you two will have to be quiet and wait for a moment while I do that okay?" Amande asked as she led the two children to her room in the Chateau for whenever she was here instead of at her island.
"Yes nee-san!" Pudding said happily and she latched onto Luffy again as the two walked beside and slightly behind Amande towards her room. Opening the door to her private rooms, Amande let the two children inside.
"Woah it's really big! Bigger than the treehouse or Dadan's hut!" Luffy said wide eyed and looking around as if he had never seen a room this big before, and he probably hadn't if he was from the East Blue. Amande smiled for a second as she watched the two children look around wide eyed, taking in the room that was painted a soothing blue green mix that reminded Amande of the ocean and nearly matched her hair. She didn't have many decorations or anything, just a few books and a few pictures of her siblings and a few nick knacks that were birthday presents from her brothers and sisters.
Her bed was large like all the other Charlotte siblings were, to accommodate her tall height and her long neck that made her look even taller. And it was very wide too, to allow for plenty of room if her younger siblings needed to sleep with her because of nightmares or if the other three of the snake-neck quadruplets decided to have a sleepover again in their stronger sisters room.
The sheets were soft and silky and a bit fluffy and were a darker blue than the rest of the room while her pillows were extremely fluffy and soft. On her nightstand was her personal den den mushi sleeping peacefully.
"You two remember that you have to be quiet while I talk to Mondee-nee." Amande said making the two kids nod their heads as they looked around before Pudding pulled them towards some chairs nearby for them to sit quietly and wait.
"Mondee-nee?" Amande asked as she dialed her sisters number and making the woman pick up immediately.
"Amande, everything okay?" Mondee asked making Amande nod her head slightly out of habit.
"Ah yes. Pudding was recovered with ease and there was another child on the ship who is currently staying with us for a time. I'm calling to let you know that I will probably be here for at least another day or two, no more than a week however." Amande said not beating around the bush and making her sister hum.
"Don't worry about Nuts Island. Hachee, Effilee and I will take care of it until you return. Make sure our little sister will be alright." Mondee said knowing how badly being captured had affected Amande and she had been older than Pudding when it happened. Although Amande was captured by actually strong slave traders and had nearly been sold before Perospero-nii-san and Katakuri-onii-san had saved her.
Amande glanced at her sister who was whispering to Luffy quietly and smiled at the look of happiness on her face as the girl giggled.
"I have a feeling she'll be just fine. She's a strong one and they didn't have her for more than a few hours." Amande said and she talked with her slightly older twin for a little longer before hanging up after wishing her sister a good night.
Turning back to the two children in her room, Amande smiled softly when she saw that the two had dozed off sometime during the call. They were obviously worn out from the day's events and Amande couldn't help but notice how adorable they were as they curled up together sleeping and snoring softly.
Amande took off her hat and put her sword beside the bed as she prepared herself for bed before she approached the sleeping children.
"Shh. Just me little ones. Let's get you two in bed hm?" Amande whispered softly as she picked the two up, making both children stir but Luffy was the only one who opened an eye to look at her. It took him a few seconds but he relaxed and dozed back off easily as Amande carried the two to her bed and settled them both on it, making sure they were in the middle so that they wouldn't roll off in the night.
"Goodnight little ones." Amande said quietly, kissing Pudding's head and then kissing Luffy's on habit, before she climbed into bed to sleep beside her sword and immediately felt two little body's snuggling into her side.
Amande smiled as she draped an arm over the two children who both made content little purrs or hums at this before she began to doze off herself.
Not a single one of them had a nightmare.
