[And then?] Lin Feng couldn't help asking.
[Ying ying ying~] (I defeated it with one Ice Beam!)
[Bu Yi Bu Yi] (That's right I even followed up with a Hyper Voice.)
[Actually, that's not how it works....]
Lin Feng found the situation somewhat amusing, but he still quickly explained,
[The trainer of that Charizard is a Professor among us humans. He knows a great deal. Charizard really is a Fire and Flying-type Pokémon!]
The voices of the two Pokémon suddenly fell silent.
They might not have believed what the professor said, but when Lin Feng said it, both of them froze.
[Ying ying ying?]
[Bu Yi Bu Yi?]
[Could it be that you two are simply much stronger than that Charizard?]
[The Charizard you need to challenge in your dreams, the Fire-type Elite Four member's Charizard, is the one that actually matches your strength.]
[Type advantages aren't absolute. In the face of an overwhelming difference in strength, even a type advantage is useless.]
[By the way, you didn't do anything to the professor's Charizard, did you?]
The other three Pokémon looked a little embarrassed as well.
[Alright, alright. Tonight, I'll explain the relationships between all the different types to you.]
Lin Feng patted their heads and couldn't help laughing.
With Ajiu's personality, combined with what had happened during their first observation and recording session today, it was obvious that Professor Rosen's research logs were going to be much more difficult than he had imagined.
After sending the Pokémon away, Lin Feng let out a long sigh of relief.
His attention soon shifted to the room.
Next came the difficult part.
He had to go and coax Gardevoir....
Sigh.
Lin Feng entered the house and looked around.
He quickly spotted Gardevoir sitting on the sofa.
Hmm.
She hadn't gone to the kitchen.
That meant she had been waiting for him to come over and explain himself.
Lin Feng walked over and sat beside her.
Looking at the unusually calm expression on her face, he couldn't resist reaching over and gently pinching her cheek.
Σ(°- °;) "Gardevoir?"
Gardevoir's expression clearly changed in surprise.
She stared at Lin Feng in confusion, obviously not expecting him to do something like that.
[Gardevoir?] (What are you doing?)
"You seem to be in a bad mood...."
Lin Feng directly stated the reason he had come over.
"So I want to make you smile."
(#`-_ゝ-) "Gardevoir...."
Her expression became rather speechless.
Then she smiled.
[Gardevoir....] (I smiled. And now?)
[Not just smile. I want you to be happy too.]
Lin Feng continued making his request.
[Gardevoir....]
This time, Gardevoir almost seemed to be laughing out of anger.
She couldn't help criticizing him through their telepathy.
[Gardevoir....] (What an unreasonable request. Whether I'm happy or not depends on whether you do things that make me unhappy!)
[Then tell me. What did I do?]
Lin Feng honestly indicated that he was willing to listen.
[Gardevoir?] (Why did you have to help it?)
Gardevoir immediately voiced the question that had been bothering her.
The "it" she was referring to was naturally Zoroark.
Helping Zoroark meant getting involved with time.
And anything related to time meant dealing with that enormous existence, the one powerful enough to make even Lugia suffer a disadvantage.
Yet this was something Lin Feng didn't have to do.
There was no need for him to take such a risk and offend an existence like Dialga.
When Gardevoir sensed Dialga preparing to attack Lin Feng while she was still inside her Poké Ball, her heart had nearly stopped for a moment.
Even now, thinking back on it made her feel frightened.
She took Lin Feng's hand and conveyed her worries to him.
When those emotions reached him through their telepathy, Lin Feng froze.
He had expected Gardevoir to worry.
He simply hadn't realized she would be this worried.
Her emotions poured into him through their telepathic connection, and for a moment, even Lin Feng couldn't handle the intensity of them.
At the same time, he finally understood why Gardevoir, who was normally so calm and composed, had become angry this time.
From Lin Feng's perspective, when he sensed Zoroark's past, he hadn't merely learned about its history.
He had experienced its tragic past firsthand.
He had felt what had happened between Zoroark and its trainer, as well as the emotions they had experienced throughout everything that happened.
On paper, those events might have been nothing more than words in a report.
But after personally experiencing them, Lin Feng had instinctively developed sympathy for Zoroark.
And he had felt that....
He should help.
Furthermore, when he asked Giratina to take him to find Dialga, he hadn't discussed it with Gardevoir or any of his other Pokémon.
It was obviously an extremely dangerous thing to do.
The situation had already involved a battle between beings on their level.
Yet somewhere deep in Lin Feng's subconscious....
He possessed an incredibly resilient body, along with all kinds of additional powers.
Even if Legendary Pokémon fought around him, he believed he wouldn't suffer any injuries.
But Gardevoir didn't know that.
She had clearly told him before.
In this little home, he was the most important person.
He was the core of the entire breeding house.
If something happened to him, everything else would become nothing more than a fragile illusion.
No wonder Serperior had silently left earlier.
After sensing all of this, Lin Feng remained silent for a moment.
Then he immediately raised his right hand.
"....I admit it. I was wrong."
"My fault...."
Pia! (o ‵-′)ノ"(ノ﹏<.)
[Gardevoir...]
Gardevoir patted him on the head.
Lin Feng, however, didn't know how to explain himself.
He certainly couldn't tell her that he was basically an indestructible cockroach.
Even if he couldn't be killed, Dialga had just demonstrated another kind of power.
For example, trapping someone inside a time loop.
Lin Feng also realized that there were some abilities possessed by Legendary Pokémon that he might not have any way to deal with.
Take Giratina, for example.
It could completely lock him inside the Distortion World.
Without a way to open a passage, even if he were incredibly powerful, there was no way he could simply smash the entire Distortion World apart.
Just as Lin Feng was racking his brain for an explanation, Serperior slithered in from outside.
There was a peach-shaped fruit held in her mouth.
Judging by its size, it should have come from the largest Peach Tree at the very center of the orchard.
Lin Feng's eyes fell upon the fruit.
Then, almost instinctively, he activated his [Eye of Investigation].
[Legendary Ingredient: Mutated Immortal Peach]
[A certain obsession caused this fruit to undergo a mutation. It contains an enormous amount of life energy. It can be fed to a recently deceased living being, allowing it to return to life. It possesses the effect of defying death.]
