"I-I…" I stuttered, words failing me as I tried to construct one while my feet moved backward on their own.
My throat tightened when my back hit the wall, and he ambled further into the room, his steps slow and calculated, his eyes sharp as a sword's edge.
"I asked a question, I suppose. Who are you? And what are you doing in my room?" He tilted his head slightly to the left, coming to a halt right in front of me.
His room? Did the pack take in a new member?
I swallowed, wondering who this man might be.
No, I don't think so.
He didn't look like a regular worker in the pack, in fact, he didn't smell like one of the pack members.
He was different—he didn't belong to our pack, he looked like someone who commands authority at will but not of this pack.
"I'm… I-I'm a maid," my lips trembled as I met his intense gaze, and he chuckled, his lips curling into a deep smirk.
