(Any event happening and behavior of the various characters that may appear here are not connected to the main story and doesn't impact the lore or the story. Just see this shit as how you'd see another route in fate lmao.)
Back to when Gilgamesh took out his library
Among the absurd assortment of grimoires, stone-carved tablets, lost manuscripts, and handwritten cookbooks from… Senji Muramasa?(don't ask), a picture book signed by someone called Hakuno and many more.
He even had 300 Volumes of a manga called Two Shards… it sounds somewhat familiar actually.
There was also one particularly strange volume that looked relatively recent, if not for the fact it was on fire but it didn't seem to be burning though, Its title read Fate/False Order Vol.4. Not sure what that is supposed to be though and where are the other three volumes anyway?
"Hey, what's that burning book?" I ended up asking as it was very eye catching.
Gilgamesh scoffed and grabbed it with two fingers as if the book insulted him personally. "HAA! This blasted volume. You know, brat, this one cost me two sacrifices and an argument with myself across timelines, together with my treasures being TRADED for a membership."
He stared at the cover with disdain. "I got it out of pure curiosity and it's really good but there is one glaring problem…
"And that is?"
"Turns out even I am not exempt from editorial betrayal. I would never get done so dirty but I guess it's indeed called fiction for a reason."(A/N: Yeah yeah keep telling yourself that king, your Copium going insane here bro.)
"... I see." I actually don't but it doesn't seem a good idea to point that out.
"But it was worth it, especially after the ending of volume 3. Though those two vampire sisters should run a contest to show who's dumber. But in the end-"
"I didn't even read this book, why are you giving me spoilers? And isn't volume 3 barely just started what you mean by ending?" I mean if you want to brag about it at least let me read it so I know what you are talking about.
Gilgamesh just gave me an annoyed sigh. "You are always a mood killer, you know that boy."
Ok, now I feel like I did something wrong for some reason. "...If you want I can read it and talk about it with you. Just let me borrow the volumes for a bit."
Gilgamesh looked at me with a shocked expression and stared at me as if he was petrified from how still he was. Then he recomposed himself and gave me a very gentle smile, gentler than any I've ever seen. "Fuck no. Just pay for the membership when it comes out for plebeians like you with your own money, I'm not giving you my volumes."
"..." I don't know why but for some reason I feel like I should punch him.
Suddenly, Gilgamesh's eyes glinted, as if he'd just remembered something… or maybe just trying to change the topic. "Actually, brat… there is one more volume I want to show you."
From within emerged a book unlike the rest, it floated gently, wrapped in gaudy golden decorations, shimmering with a mystical aura. My eyes squinted looking at it. "What's that?"
"This Volume is called Collection of Bleap's Novels Epilogues. It is the final collection… of the endings… of a certain author's long running works." Said Gilgamesh looking at the shining book. "Only the chosen ones have the right to open and learn the knowledge of the universe." (A/N: The hell is this shit? the dragon warrior's scroll? Oh wait, I wrote this shit.)
Continuing his description with an air of grandeur Gilgamesh waved the book around. "Do you understand what this is? This is the end of the stories where the journey was long, the sacrifices heavy(where are the updates?), and the fans are delusional(don't worry guys he's gonna update soon, trust). This is the moment when every expectation is answered, every mystery is revealed…"
The book then floated down into my hands. "Go on kid, open it. Find the ultimate knowledge within."
I leaned forward, caught in the gravity of the moment. A hush fell over the world. Even the crows seemed to stop cawing. My hands started prying the book open as I could see a light emanating from within the pages. 'What is this feeling deep inside me? I never felt anything like this before.'
I opened the volume slowly, dramatically, until both pages lay bare–
"?"
…
...….
....
"..."
"..."
And both were completely blank.
Nothing.
Not a word. Not a single dot of ink.
Just white pages and a faint watermark that read:
"To be continued... probably?"
-By Bleap
I blinked at this. "...Is this a joke?" I looked at him confused by the situation. "You… said it was the endings of the books…"
Gilgamesh just gave me a smile. "I lied."
"What?"
"There is no ending." Gilgamesh stated as if it was a matter of course.
"...Just that?" That was somewhat disappointing.
"Hey hey hey. The hell you think you are doing? Your character development hasn't finished yet, actually it didn't even start, don't show emotions."
"Oh, sorry." Realizing the slip of the tongue I apologized. "By the way, what if I used the grail to wish for the ending?"
Gilgamesh smiled as if recalling a fond memory. "Wouldn't work. I tried it and the entire timeline got pruned because after that humanity stagnated."
Oh I see, wait what does that mean? "What do you mean by a timeline getting pruned?"
"Nevermind that, this is not FGO anyway, so it's not important."
…What the hell does that mean? "I see."
I guess I should just go back to training Reinforcement.
The End
***
A/N: Hello have you been liking the story so far? if so please consider leaving a review for the fic and maybe some powerstones, it would mean a lot.
Know that this chapter was written with the full consent of all fanfics authors mentioned (leyline and bleap), see this as just a little funny reference to them and a sort of little tribute.
Fate fics have been incredibly dry and repetitive for a while now but they made incredible stories and kept this fandom alive with good content.
Most of fate fiction can be nearly be said to be copy pasted between each other with little difference between them and end up becoming just another a waifu conquest jorney with mc getting the first magic or things like that.
But these two guys' works really deserve some recognition, so this was kind of my way of doing it and dropping some spoilers for false order as well(lololololol).
That was all thanks for reading see you next chapter. Also remeber to think of this as something happening in a parallel universe or something.
