Chapter 10 - [10]. Confronting Young Nail

The vast expanse of the starry sky shimmered with silver light as a small spacecraft traveled through the cosmos.

Inside, Kaso lay in stasis, sleeping peacefully. He knew there was no use rushing now—all he could do was hope he arrived on Namek before Planet Vegeta exploded.

Three months passed.

Planet Namek was located on the very edge of the universe and was more than ten times the size of Earth. It orbited in a unique stellar system: three small suns revolved around it, meaning the planet never experienced night.

Its orbit was elliptical, though its eccentricity was nearly zero, making its annual motion almost identical to Earth's.

The inhabitants of Namek had green skin, no body hair, and antennae sprouting from their heads, which could sense light and emit electric currents. Their skin allowed them to undergo photosynthesis like plants—so long as they drank water, their bodies could generate the necessary nutrients through light absorption.

At that moment, in one of Namek's peaceful villages, a few Namekian children were playing.

"Hey, what's that?"

One of them pointed to a fiery trail streaking across the sky.

Namek's atmosphere was always dimly lit, so the blazing flame instantly illuminated the whole region. At its front, the object looked like a missile, rapidly plummeting toward the ground.

"Is that a meteor?! Quick, go tell the Grand Elder!"

The kids all scattered, rushing toward a large white dome-shaped house in the distance.

Boom!

The spacecraft came crashing down like a falling comet, embedding itself into the earth and leaving a massive crater behind.

Kaso emerged from the ship and leapt to the ground.

The sky was pale green, the grass a soft blue. The entire world was serene and beautiful.

After years of recovery from a past climate catastrophe, Namek had once again become a thriving, harmonious world.

Kaso took a deep breath. The air was fresh and clean, like a spring breeze brushing over a wide plain. It eased his anxious heart a little.

What a beautiful place, Kaso thought. And yet it'll be destroyed when Goku transforms into a Super Saiyan here… what a waste.

But then he remembered that Earth's Dragon Balls would eventually restore Namek, and his mood lifted a bit.

It had been over a year since he crossed into this world. His strength had grown at an astonishing rate, and his current battle power had reached 2000.

With just three months left before Planet Vegeta's destruction, there was no way he could save the Saiyans through brute force alone.

Fortunately—this world had Dragon Balls.

Kaso glanced around. But would the Grand Elder really lend them to a Saiyan like him?

If the Grand Elder refused, there wasn't much he could do.

Contrary to popular belief, not all Namekians were weak. They were divided into combat types, healing types, and so on. Among the combat types, Piccolo and Nail were especially famous.

And don't forget Slug from the Dragon Ball movies!

All of them were far stronger than Kaso at present.

So if he couldn't obtain the Dragon Balls peacefully, he had zero chance of taking them by force.

Of course, Earth also had Dragon Balls, but it was far too late to go there now.

Suddenly—

A small green figure descended from the sky, surrounded by a white aura.

As the figure drew closer, Kaso could see clearly—it was a boy, his face stern and cold. He looked exactly like young Piccolo from the anime.

"Who are you?"

The green-skinned child landed beside him and asked with a frosty tone.

Kaso didn't answer immediately. Could this be… Nail?

"My name is Kaso. I've come to ask the Grand Elder for help," he said calmly.

Young Nail's brow twitched. The Namekians had severed ties with the outside world for many years now—yet this stranger not only knew about their planet, but even mentioned the Grand Elder by name.

His voice grew colder.

"The Grand Elder won't help you. Leave."

The Grand Elder was old and frail. Nail didn't want him to be disturbed unnecessarily.

Kaso had done some research on Nail—his personality was just like this. Cold, aloof, difficult to reason with.

But still, Kaso hadn't expected him to be this difficult.

"This is urgent. Could you at least pass along the message?"

Kaso asked politely, doing his best not to stir up trouble.

But Nail just stood there silently, glaring at him.

Kaso hadn't been this pissed off in years.

What the hell? I just asked you to pass along a message—is it really that hard?

Seeing that Nail wouldn't budge, Kaso turned to leave.

"What, you think I can't find him myself?"

He sneered, then shot into the sky to search for the Grand Elder on his own.

"Stop right there!"

Nail darted up after him, trying to block him.

"You'd better leave Namek right now. Otherwise, I won't be so polite," he warned.

Kaso crossed his arms over his chest and hovered mid-air like a seasoned adult.

Let's see how "impolite" you can get.

A moment passed.

"You're looking for a fight, then!"

Nail's calm demeanor snapped.

He clenched his fists, and a powerful surge of energy exploded outward. His white aura expanded in an instant, crashing through the air like a tidal wave.

Kaso narrowed his eyes.

Is that all?

To him, Nail's energy didn't feel all that impressive.

If Kaso wasn't mistaken, this version of Nail had a battle power of around 1500—which was roughly what Kaso had half a year ago.

For a child, that was incredible. It was no wonder he was considered a prodigy among Namek's warrior caste.

But… that was it.

Back on Planet Mumu, Kaso had gone through brutal training for half a year—fighting deadly beasts every day, sharpening his battle sense. Now, his techniques had leveled up. On top of that, his power was 500 points higher than Nail's.

No way he'd lose to this green brat.

Fwoosh!

Nail vanished from sight.

Now only Kaso's silhouette remained in the sky.

He smirked. Trying to catch me off guard with a speed feint? Maybe a year ago that would've worked—but not now.

He had already learned to sense ki during his training on Planet Mumu.

Looking up, he noticed a subtle ripple in the air.

Nail emerged from above like a lightning bolt, diving at Kaso at breakneck speed. He wasn't using his full strength, not wanting to accidentally damage the planet.

So this attack was only at half power.

But even so, Kaso had sensed it coming.

He casually tilted his body to one side, easily dodging the blow.

"Let's make a bet," Kaso said as he floated to the side.

"Go on."

Nail, surprised that his ambush had failed, backed off slightly to listen.

Though still cautious, he no longer underestimated Kaso. That evasive maneuver just now—none of the younger Namekians could've dodged it.

And yet this outsider had done it… effortlessly.
