*Night time, in the courtyard.*
Nova let out a deep sigh as she was standing on a pole with one foot, while slowly moving her hands in motion. "I've gotta relax, and find peace to let out my creation powers, or whatever Master Wu told me." She tried calling forth her other powers, but no matter what she did nothing happened.
"I know it's the opposite of my powers, but for fuck sake. I've hardly made any progress and I need to get the upper hand, whether the old man keeps his part of the deal or not. I'm only gonna have one shot when the time comes." Nova took a deep breath and tried to calm down.
Nova tried for another 15 minutes but still nothing was happening, she let out a frustrated groan as she jumped off the pole and kicked off a dummy's head. "I'm not getting anywhere with this shit!"
"So this is where you are, and at this late in the night. I didn't take you for someone who trains at night." said Lloyd walking over as he had woken up to find out Nova wasn't in the bed with him, and he wasn't able to find her in the workroom she mostly would be in.
Nova almost jumped when she heard Lloyd, and turned around to see him. "Gotta keep myself from going rusty, can't have you guys leaving me all behind." She gave a small smile.
"Moonie, what's actually going on here?" Lloyd easily caught on to her avoiding the real question, as he walked over and took her hands in his. "You know you can tell me anything, right butterfly?"
"I've been taking some lessons from Master Wu, on how to calm my rage and stay calm.....but no matter how much I try I just can't stay calm for very long and it frustrates me to no end." Nova let out a heavy sigh looking up at him.
"And why is that? Don't get me wrong, but you being more calm and less angry would be nice. But what I don't get is why now of all times are you doing this training, and most of all in secret?" Lloyd raised an eyebrow looking at her.
"You and those stupid sharp eyes, I really hate them at times." Nova groans, rolling her eyes at him.
"And here I thought you loved them, because I very much love yours." said Lloyd as he was looking into her eyes, though he couldn't see it much in the night it was clear that she was blushing.
Nova let out a giggle, shaking her head a bit. "I hate you so much."
Lloyd smiled, wrapping an arm around her waist, pulling her closer. "I love you too, little mouse." He kissed her nose, getting another giggle from her as she pushed his face away from her. "But seriously, tell me at least something."
Nova narrowed her eyes at him when he called her one of the nicknames she didn't like, but decided to let it go for now. "I'm working on using my powers."
"Moonie, that's too risky. We both know what happens when you try using them." Lloyd started growing a little worried about her doing this.
Nova shook her head. "Not those powers, my other powers."
Now Lloyd gave her a confused look, not understanding what she was talking about. "What other powers?"
"Forget it, let's just go back to bed." Nova sighed and began heading inside.
".....Okay." said Lloyd but was still confused on what other powers she was talking about.
"Oh, I almost forgot something. You go on ahead." said Nova, giving a small smile.
"What did you forget?" Lloyd asked, but didn't get an answer as she was already walking away.
Nova hummed softly as she walked the halls until she got to the kitchen. "It's been a while since I've been in the kitchen." She made sure Lloyd hadn't followed her when she walked into the kitchen and....nothing happened. "What?"
"This isn't normal, or well it is normal but not with my luck." Nova walked further inside and still nothing was happening. "I wonder." She took a glance at her fake right arm.
Nova looked around before she took off her fake arm, and for a moment nothing was happening. Getting another idea she went on to try something as her body started glowing a faint golden glow.
Then the sound of three explosions was heard. "What the fuck." She quickly put her fake arm back on.
"NOVA!?"
Nova ignored the sound of the others shouting as she walked out of the kitchen, and passed the others that were standing at the door, in horror of what happened to the kitchen.
"Nova, did you really have to do that in the middle of the night? I get you're still mad about the whole bait thing, aaaand you aren't listening to me are you?" said Lloyd as he watched her walking passed him, clearly having her focus on something else.
"Of course, how could I be this stupid and forget that. Creation is an element and my arm are mixed with vengestone. But that still doesn't add up on how it can affect my kitchen luck." Nova was in deep thoughts as she went to her workroom, and pulled out some of her other blueprints for her arm.
"An arm that can keep my darkness at bay, while still being able to use my creation powers without the worries from the vengestone." Nova mumbled, trying to work up an idea.
Nova was tapping a pencil on her workbench until she was caught off guard, when she got picked up. "W-What the fuck!?"
"We're going to bed, you can work whatever you have in mind in the morning." Lloyd had gone on to pick her up bride style and was now carrying her out of the room.
"Awww! Come on, I don't have time for sleep, Lloyd!" Nova tried getting out of his arms, but he wasn't having it this time, so his grip was a little more firm.
"And I don't have time for you being all grumpy in the morning, because you didn't get any sleep." Lloyd got to their bedroom and went on to lay down in the bed with her, wrapping his arms around her and holding her close so she couldn't leave.
Nova let out an annoyed growl, still trying to break free but it was no use as she in the end gave up. "I hate you."
"I love you too." Lloyd smiled, pulling her into a kiss before he went on to kiss her jaw, and further down to her neck and collarbone. "Try and relax for a bit, and let the sleep take over."
"How can I relax and fall asleep with you kissing me." Nova's face was all red, trying to hold back from moaning. "The others will hear us if we keep going."
"The others already went back to bed, not up for fixing the kitchen until in the morning. Which reminds me, you've gotten yourself another kitchen ban." Lloyd had gone on to remove her shirt, as he spoke and kept kissing her body.
"Worth the kitchen *moans* ban, Lloyd seriously *moans* is this really the *moans* time for this." Nova did her best not to be loud with her moans, as Lloyd kept kissing her body and had gone on to remove her bra and was now messaging her breasts.
"Are you gonna stay and get some sleep? Or are you just gonna go back to your workroom?" Lloyd raised an eyebrow looking her in the eyes.
Nova started pouting as she avoided his gaze. "I can't sleep with all kinds of ideas in my mind.
"Then how about I help you focus your thoughts on something else." Lloyd whispered into her ear as he started nibbling it.
"L-Lloyd!" Nova's face was growing all red as she tried moving her face away, but it didn't stop him from nibbling her ear.
A low chuckle came from Lloyd. "I'm sure we can be quiet, as this might be the only time we have until we get all busy again in the morning."
"Easy for you to say." said Nova as she let out another moan. "Fine, but it better not take the whole night. I'm gonna need a lot of sleep after this."
"I'll try and make it quick, but still enjoyable." Lloyd smiled, kissing her and went on to remove the rest of their clothes.
*Skipping the sex scene, and jumping on to the morning.*
Nova was sitting in her workroom and was busy making a new blueprint for a new arm. "If I only add a ring of vengestone around the base of the arm, it should stop the darkness from leaking out, while not blocking my creation powers like it is doing with the arm I have now."
Nova was chewing the end of her pencil as she kept thinking of things she could add or change to her new arm. "There is no way the Overlord will keep to that one part of the deal, since it goes against his very existence. And knowing him from some of the talks I've had with him, I'm sure he will recover my core, let alone my arm and eye."
Nova took a look at her right hand that was holding the other end of the pencil. "With how his deals went with Garmadon and Harumi, he will be tricking me. Even if he kept the part of his offer, I'm betting my money on that he will use that weakness to make me keep my part of the deal." She let out a frustrated sigh.
"I'll let him have his fun, thinking he has the upper hand in this deal." Nova's eyes started glowing a bit pink, as a smirk grew on her face.
"He was right about one thing in our talk, which will be his downfall if my plan goes the way I want it. "I'm smarter than people makes me out to be." As he said himself, and even if this show is a little different with me here, it doesn't change anything." Nova started rubbing her head as she got another headache, and her eyes went back to normal.
"I really hope my plan works." Nova let out a small sigh. "I'm only gonna have one shot at this, and whatever I fail or not...I'm not sure how Lloyd and the others will take it when....when I'm...." She got up from her chair and began gathering some materials to start working on a new arm, wanting her focus to be on something else.
Nova snapped out of her work when she heard footsteps walking passed her room and towards the library. "Sounds like Nya is heading to Master Wu and Misako, to complain about her mother." She shook her head and got up. "Might go and check on Cole and Lloyd, seeing if they need a hand."
*Nya goes to the hangar bay, Lloyd, Nova and Cole are fixing the computer.*
"Just that last part Cole, and it should be fixed." said Nova pointing to a few cables and a button.
"Okay, think I've fixed it. Try the video feed." said Cole, looking over at Lloyd.
"That did the trick." said Lloyd with relief that it was working again.
"Can I help?" Nya asked.
"Oh, thanks, Nya, but we're basically done." said Lloyd.
"Where are Pixal and Zane?" Nya asked.
"Uh, they, um, kind of ... went on a mission." Cole answered nervously.
"Mission? Why didn't they tell me?" Nya asked.
"They thought it might be better to ... handle it on their own." said Lloyd, also getting nervous.
"Why?" Nya asked.
"It was a water rescue." said Nova, jumping down to her and Lloyd. "Sorry about that, Nya."
*Nya sighs and leaves dejectedly.*
"So how's it going with that new arm you're working on?" Lloyd asked.
"What? Nova is making another arm, I thought the one you have so far should be good enough." said Cole.
"The arm I have is alright, but it's a little heavy, so I'm thinking about making a lighter arm, with of course a few upgrades." said Nova as she was moving her right arm a little.
"Of course you'll add upgrades to your new arm, you already go crazy with your weapons." said Cole shaking his head.
"Are you trying to make yourself into a Nindroid, Ocea?" Lloyd questioned.
Nova gave him a confused look. "No? But that doesn't mean I can't make things that helps me in other ways."
"As long your new arm isn't used to destroy the kitchen, I don't wanna know more." Cole pointed a finger at her, still not happy that they had to fix the kitchen. "I'm gonna see if Kai wants to play some video games."
They watched Cole leaving the hangar bay before looking over at each other.
"So, when did you wake up? Normally you would be in a deep sleep, yet I didn't find you in the bed when I woke up." Lloyd questioned.
"I wanted to work on a new arm right away, so I sadly had to sacrifice a bit of sleep for that." said Nova.
"But you aren't working on it now." said Lloyd.
"I needed a break, and thought you two might need some help down here." said Nova, giving a shrug.
"Huh, I thought it was because you wanted to talk about last night." said Lloyd, raising an eyebrow.
"What about last night?" Nova started going to the elevator with Lloyd quickly catching up.
"You mentioned having another power, maybe I could help." Lloyd offered as he opened the elevator for her, and pressed the button that took them back up.
"Thanks for the offer, greenie, but I think I've figured it out." said Nova, leaning against the wall of the elevator.
"Up for sharing that, butterfly?" Lloyd asked, going on the stand next to her.
"Nope, that's my little secret." said Nova, smiling at him.
"Another secret I see." Lloyd shook his smiling softly at her. "With that aside, how are you feeling after last night?"
"I'm feeling fine greenbean, at this point my body has gotten used to it." A slight blush grew on Nova's face. "We're lucky the others didn't hear us."
Lloyd rubbed the back of his neck, with a nervous smile. "Yeah, very lucky. I was surprised when you began covering your face with a pillow, as to lower the sound of your voice."
"Well, even if it wasn't that long you didn't make it easy to be fucking quiet. I had to think of something and kissing you wouldn't have helped much." Nova could feel her face growing more hot as it was turning more red.
"I mean, you've never known to be that quiet." said Lloyd, only to get a punch to the arm.
"Hey, if anyone on this team is loud, it's fucking Jay." Nova narrowed her eyes at him.
"Right, right I guess you have a point there." said Lloyd, rubbing the arm that got punched. "So what are your plans now?"
Nova was about to answer until the sound of her stomach growling caught their attention. "I guess, getting something to eat. Haven't had breakfast and I can't enter the kitchen."
Lloyd shook his head with a chuckle. "I'll get you something to eat."
Nova smiled, wrapping her arms around him, and pulling him into a hug. "Thanks, mossy, that would be very nice of you."
"Mossy? Seriously?" Lloyd raised an eyebrow at this new nickname, but went on to wrap his arms around her.
"I think it fits you." said Nova, giving him a kiss on the cheek as the doors to the elevator opened.
"Well, I guess it's better than broccoli." Lloyd pulled away from the hug and walked out of the elevator, with Nova right behind him this time.
"What are you even gonna get me, that I can eat?" Nova asked.
Lloyd thought for a good second before looking over at her. "Think of it as a surprise, you can wait in the dining room, or outside the kitchen if you miss me too much."
Nova rolled her eyes playfully with a smile on her face. "I'll see what the others are doing while I wait, mossy."
"Alright, I shouldn't be long." said Lloyd heading to the kitchen while Nova went to see the others playing some video games.
"Who's winning?" Nova asked as she saw Ray and Kai were still playing, while Cole sat and watched.
"At the moment, Kai is but his old man is catching up quick." said Cole.
"I see." Nova leaned over the head of the couch and watched the father and son pair playing.
"Where's Lloyd by the way? I thought you two would be spending time with each other today?" Cole asked, looking over at her.
"I got hungry, and Lloyd offered to get me something since I can't enter the kitchen." said Nova while she kept watching.
"So he's your butler and chef now?" Kai asked, catching on to what they were talking about as he was playing against his dad.
Nova let out a soft laugh. "As fun as that would be, no he isn't."
"Must be annoying that you can't enter a kitchen without it raining acid and spawning chickens, with bombs in their beaks." said Ray, joining into the conversation.
"That's what happened in the kitchen this time?" Nova asked, she hadn't even paid attention to what happened when her bad luck was at work last night.
"This time? What happened last time?" Ray asked, turning around to look at her, causing his character to lose a life.
"You don't wanna know." They all three said in unison looking at Ray, who only got more confused on what happened.
It wasn't long until Lloyd arrived with a plate of waffles, knowing she liked those more than pancakes.
Nova's eyes almost lit up like stars when she saw what he had made for her.
"I didn't think it was possible to see Nova act like this." said Cole, shaking Kai's shoulder to get his attention and see what he was seeing.
"Aww, how sweet. Reminds me of the time when your mother and I were younger." said Ray.
"H-Hey! Stop the staring and focus on the game." Nova narrowed her eyes at them before taking the plate with waffles from Lloyd. "Thank you, what a nice surprise."
"Thought you might like it." Lloyd gave a smile, happy she liked the surprise.
"I'll take this with me back to my workroom." Nova left the room and headed to her workroom.
"Okay, but don't stay in there forever." said Lloyd as he watched her leave.
*Some hours later, Nova had gone to help Wu and the others in cleaning up some water when Nya walks in.*
"I'm ... I'm sorry for all the trouble. I don't know what's going on with me, but all of this is my fault." said Nya.
"I do not believe that is true." said Pixal as she and Zane had just returned.
"What do you mean?" Wu asked.
"Zane and I believe that an unexplained energy signal from the deep ocean is responsible for the fluctuations in your powers." said Pixal.
"What energy signal?" Lloyd asked.
"Yeah, what signal?" Nova asked.
"A pulse, of unknown origins." said Zane.
"It appears to originate here, in the Tartarus Trench." Pixal projects a screen from her eyes.
"It is the deepest known point in the ocean." said Zane.
"Didn't you build a submersible capable of deep sea exploration a number of years ago?" Wu asked.
"I did, the Hydro Bounty. But it was never fully tested." said Pixal.
"It's about to be. You're going diving." said Wu.
