Chapter 2 - Awakening Amid Chaos

Far beyond the limits of Earth, past the stars and the void, existed realms untouched by mortal civilization. Among them was the Jueyin Continent — a vast world where ancient beasts roamed, sects ruled with immortal might, and the law of the jungle reigned supreme.

Here, in a quiet courtyard deep within the Radiant Sky Sect, a soul that had once known betrayal and death stirred once more.

Shen Yan's Residence — Verdant Moon Courtyard

"Young Master?"

"Young Master! Wake up now, or I'll tell Lord Master what you've done!"

A soft maiden Voice was calling out Shen Yan

Shen Yan stirred, He opened his eyes.

He lay on a bed carved from ancient spiritwood, its frame veined with glowing patterns of natural Qi. The mattress beneath him was soft — filled with cloud silk said to grow only on sky-floating trees.

Even the quilt covering his bruised body shimmered faintly, laced with spiritual threads that eased fatigue and nourished the meridians.

He got up and looked around., finding himself in foreign place

'What is this place?'

The room around him was spacious yet elegant — high ceilings of polished jade, walls adorned with landscape scrolls depicting soaring peaks and celestial battles. A tall bookshelf stood against one side,

Its compartments are filled with cultivation manuals, spiritual theories, and records of heroic legacies — many bearing the name "Guardian Zhen", his father.

"Sigh! Young master Shen Yan, you finally woke up!"

Following the voice of maiden he looked, a woman was standing in front of his eyes

The woman has soft-silver eyes and her hair was jet black and her skin was white she

Wears a muted gray-blue hanfu — plain, but meticulously kept. A small silver bell hangs from her waist, its sound rarely heard unless she wishes for it.

Shen Yan looked at her and fell into daze

'What a beautiful woman..... wait i suddenly remembered i was dead in alley' then he snapped out of it and inquire from her

"Who are you? And what is the place?"

The girl blinked, then sighed helplessly.

"Young Master, please… enough with your strange jokes. This servant, Yue Lian, cannot handle more of your whims. Have you forgotten? You are the son of the Sect Guardian. Please act accordingly."

Her words were scolding, but her tone softened as she continued.

"Since Young Master Shen has awakened, I'll summon the Grand Alchemic Physician to check your condition."

"I hope when Lord Master Wuji arrived, You will be fully healed" her tone anxious

Shen Yan furrowed his brow

"Lord Master Wuji?"

"Who is this guy?"

Yue Lian was stunned. Then her face twisted in horror and frustration.

"YOUNG MASTER!!"

"HE IS YOUR FATHER!"

Shen Yan was stunned he inwardly thought

"Father? Since when did I have a father?"

The Jueyin Continent was ruled not by kings, but by the cold balance of the Fourteen Immortal Sects. An ancient accord divided the lands, but not the hearts.

There were many sects which are from weak to strong, total numbered around Seven Major Sects of Jueyin Continent. These sects have total control over Jueyin Continent, and divided territories equally.

Eastern Jueyin Continent — Hollow Womb Mountain

Located in the eastern part of the Jueyin Continent, Hollow Womb Mountain was shrouded in violet mist and eerie silence. Its jagged peaks resembled the ribs of a long-dead beast. The air itself drained vitality; prolonged exposure rapidly shortened one's lifespan.

Twisted, translucent trees grew in unnatural spirals, whispering with yin qi. The ground pulsed as if it were alive. Though the spiritual energy here was abundant, it was tainted—luring cultivators only to erode them from within.

Amidst this haunting terrain, a battle raged in the skies above. Two great sects clashed violently.

BOOM!

"Mo Wuxie! Your Nether Bone Temple has too big of an appetite!"

"We, the Radiant Sky Sect, discovered the Heaven-grade relic first! You dogs followed us in secret!"

"We reached for the relic, but before we could retrieve it, you ambushed us and trapped our Sect Guardian Wuji in a formation!"

"To dare offend the Radiant Sky Sect—your audacity knows no bounds!"

A middle-aged man in a yellow robe stood at the front, his gray hair tossed by the yin-laced wind. His golden pupils blazed with fury, a stark contrast to his usual kind demeanor.

Han Yujin—normally a figure of warmth within the Radiant Sky Sect—now wore a face twisted in wrath, his jade-like features taut with concern. His eyes betrayed the dire stakes before him.

A raspy laugh echoed across the sky.

"Kekeke…"

"Han Yujin, don't slander us. We were just passing by. When we saw your group, we merely followed out of curiosity."

"But to think… you stumbled upon a Heaven-grade relic—and failed to refine it."

"So tell me, how exactly is it yours?"

Mo Wuxie looked deceptively young, but the deep hollows under his eyes betrayed years steeped in sinister cultivation. A dark aura clung to his pale, fatigued face like a curse.

Draped in dark gray robes that fluttered like smoke, his voice was sharp and grating, unpleasant to the ear. As an elder of the Nether Bone Temple, he was infamous for his cruelty and petty nature. Venom flickered behind his gaze.

'I should finish him off before Zhen Wuji escapes the trap,' Mo Wuxie thought, eyes narrowing with murderous resolve.

He activated his spiritual energy, pouring it into his sigils, and muttered:

"Dark Poison Ghost Puppets."

He puffed his cheeks and exhaled a plume of black smoke. It coiled in the air and quickly transformed into six black skeletal ghost puppets.

With eerie cries, the puppets lunged at Han Yujin.

Han Yujin dashed in all directions, trying to shake them off.

'Damn it! These things are persistent—and they're spitting poisonous Qi?'

A little distance away from the core of the battle, a clear and feminine voice cut through the corrupted air.

"Elder Han, let me help you!"

Feng Mian stepped forward, her white robes fluttering like snow amidst a storm. Her cold gaze locked on the chaotic skirmish ahead. Though her expression remained composed, the glint in her dark-blue eyes shimmered like frost ready to strike.

"Hehehe…"

"Where are you going, Feng Mian?"

"Do you really plan to interfere in a duel? Don't forget—there's a sect pact. It cannot be broken."

"If you interfere now, are you ready to face criticism from other sects? Who will trust the Radiant Sky Sect after that?"

"Is this the righteousness you all so proudly preach?"

The mocking female voice dripped with venom.

Yao Ruyan stood with a calm, sinister grace. Her ink-black hair flowed down like a midnight river, framing a cruel smile. Her beautiful eyes gleamed with a devilish glint, as if hiding countless deadly schemes.

Clad in black robes that clung like shadows, she radiated wicked elegance. Her cruel smile made the blood run cold.

"Yao Ruyan, don't be too arrogant!" Feng Mian snapped.

"You trapped our Sect Guardian in a sigil formation!"

"You followed us, let us clear the obstacles and pass the inheritance test—and now you want to snatch the reward?"

"Do you really think I'll just stand and watch?"

Her eyes were icy, lips trembling in fury. She clenched her fists and glared at Yao Ruyan.

But both women suddenly turned toward the battlefield.

BOOM!

One of the ghost puppets exploded near Han Yujin.

"Kekeke…" Mo Wuxie cackled, throwing his head back in delight.

"This is all your Radiant Sky Sect has? Pathetic!"

"Truly laughable!"

At the exact moment of the blast, Han Yujin activated his defensive sigil. Though he absorbed part of the impact, he was still heavily injured.

Disheveled and bleeding, he coughed up a mouthful of blood. But his eyes gleamed with sudden clarity.

"So that's it."

He activated his spiritual energy again. His sigils shone across his body, erupting in brilliant yellow light that illuminated the mountain and forest sky.

Mo Wuxie closed his eyes. When he opened them, shock gripped his face—his ghost puppets had vanished as if they never existed.

"Wait—where is Han Yujin?"

He sensed spiritual fluctuation behind him—but it was too late.

Swoosh!

"AAAAHHHH!"

Mo Wuxie screamed in agony. His expression twisted as he grabbed his left shoulder.

"You made a good judgment."

Han Yujin's solemn voice followed as he held a glowing light-whip relic. His yellow hair danced in the wind, golden eyes flashing like molten sun.

Feng Mian smiled like a blooming flower. Her brows relaxed, and the worry in her heart eased.

"Well done, Senior Brother. As expected of you."

She looked at Yao Ruyan with a smirk.

Yao Ruyan snorted but said nothing.

Mo Wuxie's breathing grew ragged. Sweat poured from his brow, and his body trembled in pain. His left arm had been severed. Purple blood gushed as he struggled to heal.

Panic flashed across his face—but quickly turned into a cold smile.

"Hehehe… Han Yujin, as expected of an elder of the Radiant Sky Sect. To think you had an Earth-grade relic… you truly caught me off guard."

But then, his eyes grew wilder, his grin widening.

"You can kill me, of course… but then, forget about your Sect Guardian."

"You'll never find where we trapped him."

"Cunning demon!" Han Yujin growled.

Mo Wuxie shrugged, unfazed.

"Our Sect Master personally assigned three elders to eliminate him. You won't even find his corpse."

Han Yujin's eyes widened in panic as the realization hit. He roared in fury.

"So your true goal was to kill the Sect Guardian!"

"Kekeke… finally used your brain?"

"But it doesn't matter. To ensure his death, our Sect Master provided Earth-grade relics, countless sigils, and spirit pills."

"Your Sect Guardian is fated to die today."

He shouted gleefully, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.

"Is that so?"

A voice echoed suddenly from behind—
