Chapter 33 - VOLUME 1 CHAPTER 33 : OBSIDIAN CLASH

The obsidian golem charged at him with surprising speed for its size. Alex was waiting for it, but the golem delivered a powerful punch with its long arms. It thought it had crushed Alex, but he used his skill Lightning Leap to teleport above the golem's arm.

"Too slow, big guy!" said Alex.

He then ran along the golem's arm toward its head, but before reaching it, the golem swung its arm upward, sending Alex flying through the air. Alex caught himself and tried to use a skill, but with all the ones he now had, he was lost.

"Arrgh… I should've revised my skills!" he told himself.

The golem took the opportunity and launched an upward vertical punch toward Alex. Hit violently, he was propelled even higher into the air, spitting blood. Dazed, he plummeted back down at great speed. The golem launched another vertical strike, but Alex, at the last moment, used Lightning Leap to teleport directly onto the golem's chest.

"Take this, you damn rock!" he shouted, chaining several dozen blows that created cracks on the creature's chest. With each hit, the golem stepped back a few centimeters. Its hands pressed together, forming a solid block, then came crashing down vertically toward Alex. Surprised, Alex was slammed to the ground like a missile and blacked out for a few seconds, his blood covering the ground.

The golem roared violently, creating powerful shockwaves. It jumped to crush Alex, but he regained consciousness and teleported to the side, avoiding the impact. The shock created a violent gust of wind that hurled him away, but Alex managed to recover.

"That was really close… I could've died several times! This golem is incredibly strong," he murmured.

The golem aimed its hands at him and launched obsidian boulders. Alex zigzagged with his back turned to the golem, dodging the rain of projectiles that seemed to target him exclusively.

"Enough!" he shouted, activating his skill Obsidian Armor. For the first time, his ghoul body was entirely covered in obsidian, including his head. A boulder rushed at him, but Alex struck it with all his strength using his obsidian-covered right arm, shattering it into pieces. The armor had multiplied his strength.

He started running at full speed. The golem sent dozens of boulders, but it was too slow for Alex. In three seconds, he was in front of the golem and climbed up to its head. Once at the top, he cried out:

"It's too late!"

He delivered a powerful blow to the golem's skull. The impact cracked it and made it sit down, dragging Alex into its fall.

"It's not over!" shouted Alex, propelled even faster thanks to his telekinesis, striking the golem violently with his leg first. The golem howled as chunks of obsidian from its body flew off. Alex leapt backward, retreating several meters.

The golem got back up and charged at him with all its might. Alex declared:

"We had fun, but it's time to put an end to this game!"

His body ignited thanks to his skill Ember Cores, the armor glowing red-hot. Alex rushed at the golem, right fist forward, accelerating like a beam of fire, and pierced through the creature's chest. He crashed violently, unable to stop, destroying his armor and injuring himself.

He got back up, bloodied, and saw the golem in the distance fall to its knees before collapsing. The system then appeared:

[Congratulations! You have perfectly mastered obsidian. Failure probability when using obsidian in your creations: 0%]

Alex smiled:

"Now, it's time for the main course. Let's forge!"

Before starting, he healed himself using healing magic. Then a flash appeared: everything had returned—the anvil, the furnace, the water basin. Alex grabbed his hammer and got to work.

[Next Evolution: ???]

Time remaining before evolution: 35 hours.
