Chapter 2 - CHAPTER-2

Garp let out a hearty laugh and deftly pulled out a thick stack of Berries, striding over without hesitation.

Luo Yu adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses and took the money, counted it briefly, then tucked it away.

"Perfect amount. Another joyful workday begins. But since today's a rest day—Vice Admiral Garp, Instructor Zephyr—if there's nothing else, I'll be heading off now."

Heading off?

Everyone froze again.

Was this recruit for real?

At such an important new recruit induction, not only had he shown up an hour late…

Now after discussing overtime pay, he wanted to leave early?

Since when did being a marine mean a 9-to-5 job—with overtime pay and weekends off?!

Rest day? Did marines even have such a thing?

"Rest day?" Garp paused for a moment, then suddenly slapped his forehead and laughed loudly.

"Haha! Luo Yu, you mentioning it just reminded me—Zephyr, today's Sunday. When Luo Yu joined the Navy, I promised him he'd only work twenty-two days a month, with weekends off."

"I completely forgot until now."

"But him showing up today, on his day off, just to give you face—that's quite the gesture! Don't take it personally!"

Everyone was stunned.

Looking at Garp, cheerfully patting Zephyr's shoulder, they began to question reality.

Was this really the Navy they knew?Or… were they the ones in the wrong Navy?

Otherwise, how come they didn't know about these kinds of benefits?!

"Garp, get your hand off me!" Zephyr slapped his hand away. Watching Luo Yu walk off, he suddenly burst into laughter.

"Haha! A nine-to-five job? Twenty-two days a month, eight days off, and overtime pay?"

"I've been a marine nearly my whole life, and I've never heard of such perks!"

"Brat, don't be in such a hurry. If you pass my test, I'll honor those terms."

"Test?" Luo Yu turned slightly, adjusting his glasses.

"Does it come with overtime pay? If not, count me out."

Overtime again?!

Zephyr's facial muscles twitched. After a deep breath, he gave a stiff smile and growled, "Don't worry. If you can withstand my two top students for three minutes—and defeat them—I'll give you 100,000 Berries as overtime pay."

"Ain, Binz—go!"

"Understood, Instructor!"

Two sharp replies echoed behind Zephyr.

All eyes shifted immediately.

The next moment, the two figures vanished like ghosts.

Soru?!

Everyone's minds instantly made the connection.

They turned to Luo Yu instinctively.

In just a blink, the distance of over ten meters had been covered.

Those two ghost-like figures reappeared—right in front of Luo Yu.

"Sorry, newbie. Arrogance has a price. Time to teach you a lesson."

Ain's expression was cold and emotionless. Her long leg whipped forward like a steel lash toward Luo Yu's chest.

Beside her, Binz also launched a coordinated strike.

Their moves were sharp and complex—but executed in a split second.

By the time the crowd realized what was happening, Luo Yu appeared frozen in place, seemingly in shock.

"Looks like this brat needs to be tempered." Zephyr laughed loudly.

BOOM!

Two leg whips struck with thunderous force.

But the scene that followed made everyone's pupils constrict, their eyes almost bulging from their sockets.

The smile on Zephyr's face froze instantly.

Luo Yu stood there like an iron tower—completely unmoved.

A single thought flashed through Zephyr's mind:

"That's... Tekkai." Soru!

Luo Yu adjusted his glasses, and in the blink of an eye, disappeared.

Ain and Binz were clearly Zephyr's top students.

Though they had missed with the first strike and hadn't figured him out yet, their bodies instinctively leapt back in retreat.

But their Soru had only carried them seven or eight meters—

When a shadow had already appeared behind them.

"So fast!"

Ain and Binz's expressions changed instantly. They abandoned dodging and blocking altogether.

"Tekkai!"

Their voices rang out in unison, and their muscles tensed up like granite.

They looked forward, eager to see Luo Yu's face when his attack failed against the same technique.

But just as that thought formed, what met their eyes was Luo Yu stomping heavily, the ground beneath him shattering apart.

"Rokushiki… Tekkai: Juggernaut Step!"

A massive fist, roaring through the air, slammed straight into their abdomens.

BOOM!

Two shadows shot out like cannonballs.

Their Tekkai, meant to harden their bodies, might as well have been paper.

They crashed into a pile of wooden crates a dozen meters away.

The crates exploded, splinters flying in all directions.

Both of them spat blood, barely able to remain standing, eyes full of disbelief.

The same Tekkai?!

Broken—with a single punch?!

That was absolutely absurd.

For a moment, everyone stared at the shattered ground—nearly eight meters in radius—spreading from Luo Yu's feet like some apocalyptic crater.

It was as if they had seen a ghost.

"Ding! Congratulations, Host. Overtime punch-in successful. Reward: 'Extreme Flowing Rock-Breaking Fist!'"

"Ding! Current punch-in progress: 99%. Once all Four Seas punch-ins are complete, you will advance to Headquarters punch-in stage. The reward chest tier will increase to Silver."

A calm, ethereal voice echoed in Luo Yu's mind.

He raised his eyebrows slightly and smiled.

Over the past year, his strength had grown rapidly—all thanks to the 9-to-5 Punch-In System.

By clocking in each day, he'd steadily earned rewards that enhanced his body and granted him mastery of the Six Powers.

Without the system, even if he'd accidentally ended up aboard Garp's ship, he would've been swallowed up in the law of the jungle.

The system's name said it all: by working regular hours, he'd fill a punch-in progress bar and earn reward chests.

He could also use his earnings to exchange for reward chests.

However, the chests he could afford until now were bronze-tier, and after a few tries, he realized the items in them weren't very valuable—mostly minor stats and mundane daily items.

So, he rarely spent his salary on them anymore.

After all, aside from system expenses, real-life bills still existed.

But looking at Ain and Binz, sent flying by a single punch…

And the 100,000 Berries within reach…

Luo Yu adjusted his glasses and looked at Zephyr.

"Instructor Zephyr, at this rate—my overtime could bankrupt you."
