The night air tasted of rain on old stone, tucked inside a hidden courtyard behind the shrine, the golden-eyed envoy,Biat, and I watched the vine-scribe agent retreat beyond the iron gate. Lunara slept in my arms, breathing softly with the Silverline ring warm against her chest.
Moon Priest stood beside us, staff glowing faintly. "You have thirty hours, you need to register Lunara at the court registry, locate Lupus, and deliver the chest by first light."
I wrapped my shawl tighter around her. "I will."
Biat traced a map in the dirt. "We start with the registry, you and Lunara go in person, I'll secure safe passage and nvoy stays as shield."
The envoy nodded but expression stayed unreadable, I felt both grateful and wary of his calm presence.
Moon Priest added a whisper: "After registration, meet me at the Redwood Landmark on the ridge, there you can call Lupus through river channel."
